I’ve been to Quebec City seven times and have always stayed at Auberge Place d’Armes. I absolutely love it! Everyone is so warm and welcoming. From Virginie at the front desk who is so helpful, to the waiters in the restaurant who provide friendly service, to Chahira who does a beautiful job cleaning the historic hotel, the staff once again made my stay memorable! Thanks everyone!

Fantastic stay. My daughter looooved the room. We woke up to Christmas music playing outside our window where the German Christmas Markets were set up. We like people watching out the window too. It was lovely.

Great location in Quebec City. Easy to walk everywhere. Check in was easy. We stored our bags after check out until our train. Room was in the attic, so not very good if you have trouble with stairs. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful room, everything you need is there. Close to everything you need to see in old town. Will definitely come back and highly recommended.

This is a small boutique hotel with a great location. The room was small with an awkward layout, an open shower at one end and a toilet in a raised closet next to the bed at the other end. We were unable to regulate the temperature in the room on a very warm fall weekend, with the heat set very high. We asked for assistance on this matter 3 separate times but it was never addressed. Fortunately the windows can be opened however that leads to noisy nights given the proximity to so many nearby restaurants and nightspots. We love Quebec and plan a return visit but will not stay at this hotel again.

Beautiful old hotel in a great location. Shopping and sightseeing all around you within walking distance. Friendly staff and interesting architecture/room decor.

Didn’t realize we had to go up two flights of stairs with our luggage, no help. And had off site parking

A nice property very well located. Staff were very good but we were not convinced by the virtual reception which was only staffed for a period in the morning or late afternoon. There were no staff physically at the property at other times. NB also there is no lift.

The location was perfect. Center of the historic part of town with many dining options in any direction. The hotel restaurant was the best we ate at...we should have had every meal there. The staff was very friendly and helpful - when the desk clerk didn't show up on time because he was delayed at another hotel, at least three of the restaurant staff noticed us lurking around and asked if we needed help.

It’s a beautiful quaint building in the middle of everything.
It’s walkable to upper and lower Old Quebec .
However there was no one at the front desk ( which looks like part of the restaurant in the same building). We had to make a phone call which the woman from the restaurant gave us.
Then we had to wait for someone to talk over from wherever they were.

The location of the hotel was perfect and the restaurant it is above, La Buchette, was some of the best food we had in Quebec City. The actual hotel is staffed very infrequently and messages through Expedia went unanswered. Our room looked out into an empty old hot tub with dirty towels left out. The pull out bed was broken and our daughter was sleeping declined on a rock hard pull out. The king bed was uncomfortable and the room smelled like firewood. Again, location amazing but would look for another option with staffing at the desk for questions and concerns during your stay.

This hotel is in a great location, we had a view of the Chateau Frontenac and a park. The parking situation was a little confusing-there is an underground ramp approximately 1 1/2 blocks away off of Rue Pierre Oliver Chaveau. There was no one at the front desk or answering the phone to verify we could park there-it was $20 per day. The cleaning staff was great and we enjoyed some fine dining in the row of restaurants in front of the hotel. I would definitely recommend-if they had more detailed info about parking on the website, that would be helpful for first time Quebec City tourists, otherwise, perfect stay!

Location was convenient to yummy restaurants, transportation, shopping, etc. The restaurant at the hotel was great too with people lining up for a table.
We loved the front desk staff, especially Virginie - who always had a smile for us, and a quick response to our questions and advice.
The stairway was steep but a second less steep stairway was available when needed. We hope to stay at this hotel the next time we are in Quebec City.

Wait staff was excellent. Week end front desk was clueless about prepaid parking option. Bathroom needed attention and Make up service skip a day.

Small rooms, interesting furniture but shower located in the bedroom, apart from bathroom. Very Small bath. Would not recommend for a couple. No reception area that has personnel except twice a day. Steep steps, near crowded area, but walkable to old city.

If you don't mind climbing stairs or about 5 steps in rooms on the 1st floor (not counting 5 steps from the hotel entrance) then you are in a perfect location and a nice room with character. I love the modern shower. We ate at their restaurant (La Buchette) and loved it, not too many choices, menu is concise but more than enough to satisfy your pallet for CAD18. Parking is conveniently located about 3-4 min walk @ hotel de ville parking and it is safe underground parking.

Hotel has a good location. The room is charming. However, it is not a full service hotel. The receptionist is not there. We had problem on the check in day. Not happy about it. There is no elevator so prepare to climb at least 2 flights of stairs.
