The property was difficult to locate, especially if arriving in darkness. Directions need to be clearer. Despite being in the vicinity of the Cathedral, area around property is undesirable with graffitied buildings and vagrants sleeping rough. We were allocated 4th floor ‘superior’ apartment which involved climbing 4 flights of narrow stairs with motion-sensor lighting which kept going off before we reached the next landing. The floor area of apartment was considerably reduced due to sloping eaves-type ceiling. Apartment itself was dim and dusty, kitchen poorly equipped and towels, although laundered, were stained and of poor quality. I selected this accommodation based on glowing reviews. These reviews absolutely did not reflect our experience.

Room was just what we needed. Windows opened to panoramic view of downtown and had the most beautiful sounds of bell towers and seagulls. Location was central to go explore. Parking is a situation in Porto so we decided to just park right outside and risk it and our car was fine for 2 nights. The cathedral cafe right next door is a must with the nicest owner who loves telling you about his city and sites to see. I also had the best cappuccino here in all the places we went in Portugal!

Location is the best! Communication was great and they provided us with lots of excellent food recommendations and we were able to laundry at a place nearby. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable with a great location!

Cleanliness of the room- dusting on the lamps, washroom with mold, kettle has not been cleaned, room condition different from shared picture, AC not available (just fan which is not functioning) therefore room had very seriously mold, muggy smell. Humidifier was too small to work for the size of the room.

It was very convenient to have a whole apartment to myself for an extended stay, especially so close to main attractions and roads to get transportation. Unfortunately, with the street performers, garbage pickup, tourists, etc, it was EXTREMELY loud and i wish i had brought earplugs. There's no lift for luggage and the staircase is really tight, so that was strenuous with my large suitcase going to the 3rd floor. The room is a good size, and the AC works great. They communicate with you very well over whatsapp for everything you need and they offer luggage storage free of charge.

I had a perfect stay! You can’t beat the location, you’re next to all the main sites of Porto. The room was exactly as it looked in the pictures and the view was impeccable. Lastly, the hosts were extremely responsive and ready to help with anything needed. Would highly recommend this spot, and I’ll be looking to stay here again next time I visit Porto

I went with my family and it was disappointing that there were no refills for soaps and shampoos. Disappointing there were no extra towels or cleaning service during our 2 day stay.
If you’re looking for a bit of luxury, this isn’t the place.
The location is fabulous and the water pressure in the shower was great.

This property is in an unbeatable location, with some of the best views in the city. However, it is becoming rundown and it need of a refresh, and could use more professional management. Some of the broken items in the room included the safe, hairdryer, single mattress (ripped), and dishes (most of them are chipped). The two men who run the place are very pleasant, but not overly helpful. For example, they communicate through the expedia app about check in, so messages are delayed by many hours and you can't check in without the messages - we had to go knocking on the locked door to get access to our room and were lucky we arrived when there happened to be someone at the front desk who let us take a picture of the check in instructions with our phone. Additionally, the room was only made up once during our weeklong stay, and did not include refills on shampoo, toilet paper, etc, all of which we had to request separately as we ran out. A few items could go a long way - such as providing more than 2 coffee capsules and 1 small bottle of water as the promised "welcome basket" for a week long stay. Loved the location, but a refresh and more attention to detail would improve the experience. It is a 2* stay in a 5* location.

We had such an amazing time at the Cathedral Design Appartments. The team was great to comminuciate with, responded quickly and answered all of our questions. The room was very clean and well kept. The surrounding area was awesome and veing close to the Porto Cathedral was a very cool experinece. This stay is a 10 minute walk from so many locations which made our stay in Porto very convenient. Wokkd definitely stay again!

Super nice front desk staff. The property is very old but made up fairly clean. Location is absolutely perfect! I had three major problems with the property. 1. There is no air conditioning. I would have never booked here had I knew that first. 2. No elevator, I had to drag my luggage to the third floor. 3. The windows were nailed shut, not only it was super hot but there is no way to escape if there is a fire. I asked the front desk to unscrew the window blockage, and I was able to open the window from there. Which is great.

I am glad I did! The check-in process was a breeze, the gentleman front desk staff person was incredibly knowledgable and helped us arrange a tour. Rooms were clean. Location was great! We received extremely helpful emails from the property about places to dine, parking options. After all this---if the way Cathedral Design Apartments is the way of the future we are all in store for great things. Well done Cathedral Design Apartments!!!!
