Clean spacious and warm room
Comfortable bed
Excellent clean facilities: gym, sauna, steam room, pool and jacuzzi
Great food and cocktails
Above all the service was incredible. Every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. Truly some of the best service I have ever had. I went with my elderly deaf mother and they really took care of her.
Nothing, it was a perfect stay

We got an upgraded room for the wifes birthday - which was a nice touch.
Great breakfast on last day of our stay.
Enjoyed peaceful surroundings and staff were always very helpful/friendly.
Spa was full of gym users - steam room/sauna/jacuzzi always full.
Restaurant at hotel was average. Menu was poorly designed and food was not mind blowing.
Room - nicely decorated and proportioned room. However, bathroom was dangerous. Small exit from shower resulted in a fall which could have been much worse.

The building
The food was sub standard and drinks very very expensive
4.1
Breakfast excellent, comfortable bed, bath robes, fan in the room, exterior of building spectacular and grand/impressive in the entrance, balcony, library. Terrace and grounds were beautiful. Suite on top floor had fantastic roof terrace with nice views. Spa facilities pleasant and afternoon tea in spa lovely - nice relaxation area with hot and cold drinks, very good treatments. Good parking provision. Located within a few minutes drive of lots of pubs in either direction.
Air conditioning poor, bath in our room quite tricky to get in and out of due to bathroom layout and hand rail in the bath to "help" was in the way so I banged my funny bone on it twice. Spa nothing special - good for a hotel guest or health club member but not necessarily a special occasion spa day in terms of the luxuriousness of it.

The welcome and attitude of the staff, excellent!
As we were spending, sadly, little time at the hotel, we booked a cosy room. The size and description were fair but we compared the room to an average 3 star. I’m sure the soft furnishings and finish of the room could be better. Whilst the building of the hotel is stunning, I felt the decor was a little flat and dull - I am being critical.
4.1
The food in the restaurant was overpriced and not that good.
4.1
Beautiful historic building. Friendly efficient staff. Calm restful location. Perfect for a mini break.
Restaurant food and drink prices. Gardens surrounding house need attention. Could be developed to create walks.
4.1
Breakfast room and general ambience was excellent. The attentiveness and professionalism of the staff was exceptional.

The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and can't do enough to make you feel like you've arrived at your home away from home.. beds are very comfy, bar chairs comfy, beautiful building. We travelled with our dog.. she was treated like a princess! :-)
The spa is more sports related.. it feels like its used after people have had a heavy workout. The focus isn't the spa.. we didn't enjoy it too much...the hotel itself is much more relaxing!

The room was great and very comfy. And the staff were very friendly. Niamh who worked in the restaurant and bar was brilliant, she was great and even bought me a blanket so I could sit outside in the evening. Very much looking forward to staying again.
Everything was perfect .

beautiful building very grand with amazing views. my massage abs facial with Calina was amazing. breakfast staff and reception staff were lovely.
I felt there could have been more information about the property and the staff at the bar were a bit rude. the hotel needs attention in the decor the pool area was run down and the staff were not very helpful in providing information considering we had never visited before we had to request towels ask where to go what we should do we were not allowed to sit in the spa lunch area even though we paid for treatments the cafe area was run down the pool was too. the room was boiling even with the radiator off.

This property not only met expectations but exceeded them!

Excellent customer service. Great property and the food was amazing! The afternoon tea was top notch.
Only thing that was annoying was that the spa/ swimming pool was not actually in the property, it was located next door in separate building.

The staff were all helpful, courteous and pleasant and made the stay more relaxing.
Treatments were all booked up

The leisure facilities were very impressive. The room was wonderful and the building was stunning!
The bed was incredibly disappointing, the mattress felt like it was very old and the springs just gave way underneath us.
