Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent view. Incredible breakfast.
We stayed in the cabin in a beautiful setting. At times problem with toilet flushing.
The cabin has potential.

This place is a piece of heaven on earth.
I left with a full heart.
I came the 1st time in November 2024 and I fell in love with the place so I come back 2 months later and I fell in love even more.
- Let's start with the view that is just incredible. You can sit there for hours and just look at the landscape. The mariage of vegetation and the lack makes the place looking as a painting.
The entire place is peaceful and relaxing and you are only a short walk from town if you want more craziness and activities.
- Lodges are in the middle of vegetation which give you the impression of being one with the nature. The decoration made the place very authentic. My room was very comfy and I have plenty of space. I got a mini fridge (perfect for snacks).
My room has also a private terrace with a view on the lack with a table and a hammock (perfect to chill and relax). I was worried about the room temperature at night but I even did not need to open the window actually.
- There is a private access to the lack, which is perfect for a swim during the hot hours of the day. They also offer activities as yoga, kayak, hiking, massage... You can not get bored.
- The breakfast is very generous and good. You don't need another meal until late afternoon.
- Lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. She made me feel very comfortable even if my Spanish was very limited. Always happy to answer my questions.
- The last but not the least was my meeting with Maria the owner and the creator of the place. She made my stay unforgettable with a her warmth. She made me feel as a family member. We did a firecamp, went to San Rafael, I met her lovely family... Being a solo traveler Maria took care of me as a daughter (I even don't speak Spanish hahaha).
She so inspiring, as a human, as a woman, as an artist and as a nature lover. Don't miss her during your stay if you want to meet someone special.
Thank you Casa Encuentro for being my new

We loved our stay at Casa Encuentro Ecolodge! We had a bungalow overlooking the lake with our own outside lounge net. The view was incredible, so beautiful to wake up to with a cup of tea. The bungalow was decorated very well with everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing - so fresh, delicious and lots of it. It was a really memorable stay.
Unfortunately when we stayed the road leading up to the Ecolodge was being dug up so no tuktuk’s could reach it. Just meant we had to carry our bags up the hill in the heat. Not the Ecolodges fault at all but a bit of warning would have been helpful.

It was amazing!
One of the best stays I have ever had during my Colombia trip. It is located 10 minutes away from the town by walking.
The hostel people are very hospitable.
The place is so peaceful and you wake up with the bird sounds. The breakfast is served every morning and you have your breakfast with an incredible view.
I don’t know what else to expect from a stay!
Definitely I would like to come back if I have the opportunity!

Nice views from the bedroom. We enjoyed the yoga session (every Sunday morning).
The room was quite old, it looked different from the pictures. The bathroom is extremely small, you barely have space to stand. Plenty of flies and other insects in the room.

The enviromnent of the place is great, quiet but still in Guatape. Breakfast was nice.
Our room had mold in it, we were frequently visited by cockroaches. When our toilet flushed or somebody else in the building, our room smelled of sewage. The towels were gray and old.

Lovely place in Guatape with a beautiful view on the lake. The staff is amazing! The place is very clean, nice place to relax in the hammock. They have paddle boards and kayaks to rent and there’s yoga class if you like. The breakfast is different and delicious every morning and they even ask for allergies. If you go to Guatape it’s an amazing place to stay!

Amazing view and great location right on the lake. We stayed in the bungalow and it was worth every cent. Relaxing on the platform with a glass of wine watching the fireflies and listening to the frogs and insects. Friendly and helpful staff (especially Lady), great facilities and even the option to hire kayaks and paddle boards.

Comfy bed in a really spacious dorm, hot shower, delicious breakfast and friendly staff! Loved the hammock area and there is a beautiful yogashala in the garden. Beautiful views all around and just 10 mins walk from the town you feel completely separate from the mass tourism of Guatape. If I’d been staying for longer I would have liked to do some of the water sports on offer at the property.

- location was perfect. 10-15 mins walk from town so really quiet but easy access
- Wifi was really good
- 1 breakfast (the crepes) was the best we’d had in South America
- SUP rental was great
- nice communal area to relax in with excellent views
- walls were thin so could hear other rooms and kitchen above. Guest were considerate so not too bad
- 1 breakfast included a croissant that was so stale it was inedible. We noticed all other guests sent it back too

The location!! Close enough into town but far enough for our own slice of this natural paradise. The people who worked here were incredibly nice and helpful. The walk to our bungalow included lots of stairs but felt like a treat each time set amongst the beautiful plants and wonderful scenery.

Staff are exemplary! Breakfasts are tasty & varied. Large portions. Rooms with a view of the lake are the best! Guatape is a well-deserved visit.
Rooms are so small.

I really like the location a bit outside of the village which is quite loud. You could still perfectly walk there in less than 10 minutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly and waited for me even though I arrived much later than I thought (if you arrive late let them know as usually they close reception in the evening). They also helped me with other questions like renting a bike. Breakfast was good (fruit, eggs, toast, tea/coffee and fresh juice). The compound is quite large and you can walk down to the private access to the lake in a few minutes. There is also a nice hammock area.
You could hear the guests in the other rooms talking. Also the room was quite humid with a slightly musty smell. The bathroom was tiny with the sink being located in the bedroom and no shelves to lay down things. Water pressure was low and although I followed the instructions, I did not get warm water. I had a look into the other rooms, which looked a bit more comfy with a lakeside view (probably more expensive though).

The lodge!! So comfortable, so calm, clean and amazing hammac to relax in front of superb view!
Helpful and welcoming staff who advised us to rent bikes to El Penol, the sporty highlight of our stay.
Generous delicious breakfast
The location of the hotel: close from city center 10 min by foot and away from any noise.
+ we had hot water

We had the most amazing time here, we booked the bungalow with its own patio and private hammock with stunning view of the lake. Enjoyed taking the paddleboards out in the morning. Breakfast was delicious. Such a relaxing stay!

Walking distance from town with great views. Lovely hammock area and also kayaks available for rent. Breakfast was delicious and free coffee facilities. Lovely staff!
Room lacked ventilation and our clothes and bags felt very damp when we were leaving. The room we had was quite small and dark with a small window. We know it’s beside a lake in a humid area but we don’t think that’s a good excuse for the condition of the room.

This place was perfect for what I needed. Someplace very quiet with a beautiful view surrounded by nature. The noise and traffic in Medellin were too much for me. The staff was courteous and helpful. There is always free tea and coffee in the office. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area to have breakfast. The breakfast was great.
There is a library with hammocks to relax and a space to just hang out. You can walk down to the yoga studio and even right down to access to the lake for paddle boarding.
The walk to town was easy and everything you need is there- restaurants, activities, etc. Staff very helpful in answering questions, help with getting a taxi to the airport, etc.
The hot water in the shower came on quickly and was very hot. I loved it there. I want to live there!
The weather - but they can't control that.

The room with terrace is very nice, quite private and with good views to the lake and mountains. Nice breakfast and the ecolodge is beautiful with the yoga area.
It is not right in the village, so if you travel solo is a bit scary to go back to the house during the night. However, people say it is safe and it seems there are camaras in the street. Sunday from 7pm we needed to contact reception and there was no one and no one picked up the phone or answered our messages until the following day after we left the house.
