It is an extremely beautiful place on top of a forested mountain with a gorgeous view. The chalet was very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed the wildlife on the chalets grounds and around, especially at night when everything is quiet, one can catch sight of many creatures roaming around.
The first night we realized the fridge from the mini bar was extremely loud and we couldn't switch it off, so we didn't have much sleep until we figured out how to unplug it, it upset us a bit because we were looking forward to a restful calm night in the wilderness. The last day there was no running water which is understandable because water has to be refilled in this place and sweet chef Christine apologized about it. However, at the reception and at the check out, there was no mention of the inconveniences we had and no polite apologies. For that price, we would expect more care for comfort. Finally, this place is very close to if not within a protected ebony forest, it did make us wonder whether there was some sort of unscrupulousness behind it...

The food was amazing
Pest control should be carried out more regularly

The view from the location was brilliant.
HOWEVER, there was a lot of THEFT going on at this hotel. I lost 350EUR at the hotel (my bag containing 350 EUR was in the hotel when I went out for dinner and it was missing when I came back).
Another couple filed a police report as they lost around 1000 EUR. We were also told that a couple one week prior to our stay lost their engagement ring.
During my checkout, the Mauritius police were at the hotel investigating the thefts that had taken place. This is something that the hotel should have resolved to avoid all of us having suffered financial and emotional distress. It was an extremely disappointing service as they were unable to provide safety and a good level of service.
If you are staying at this hotel, avoid taking cash and expensive goods with you.
Another point, the taxi company this hotel arranges charges a much higher amount than an average taxi. Try to arrange your own transportation as they will rip you off.

The view
The room had lots of cockroches that you had to kill every day. The place is super remote. Not all people working there are nice and we heard the staff steals valuebles from your room.

the view... seriously. the rooms are grand! We loved watching the sunset from the terrace. Dinner was nice. Choice of 3 meals. Breakfast was okay, very small but nice buffet and served eggs.
It was hard to find and the road to reach it is beyond terrible. if you have a rental car and the car is small, chances are you are going to break it trying to get up on the cliff. The road is a narrow muddy hiking trail with concrete Block, that work only for SUV or big cars. Also, local taxis and mini buses go up and down bringing tourists to the view point so it gets dangerous. Plus rain and huge sink holes in the "road". We really didn't get how a luxurious hotel can let this happen. I suggest trying to ask the hotel to pick you up at a parking lot inside the park before you go on this shitty dirt road. Also, they let you in the park for free if you are staying there but if you then want to visit Chamarel, you need a ticket and you need to drive all the way back to the entrance to buy it and staff of the park is very rude. If you dont want to do that, get your ticket on the way in or buy it online on the hotel WiFi

Amazing view
The hotel has a lot of potential, however, currently not captured:
> Food quality OK, but basically no variety (every day the same)
> Adventurous drive - a SUV is definitely recommended
> No activities / no entertainment (e.g., no SPA, no gym); in case of rain you basically have nothing to do
> Poor consultation (e.g., no restaurant recommendations, provided wrong information on opening hours of major attractions, no recommendations provided of what to do in the neighborhood)
> Room OK, but cleaning standards rather low; also many insects during the night. We stayed at different places on the island and we did not have any problems with insects.
> Pool cannot be used as it is dirty; also the sunbeds are dirty and it is no joy to spend the day at the pool (because u also do not get any service)
Overall, it’s sad to see that the potential is not used. An experienced management team could easily translate this place into a magical place. however, as is, do not recommend to go or only for 1-2 nights.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in ways we cannot explain! The location and views are stunning, and the chalets themselves spacious, comfortable, clean, and luxurious. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff was welcoming and professional. Our only regret was not staying longer.
absolutely nothing

Amazing view!! Beautiful location, nice small cottages with all you may need, friendly staff, very good breakfast, good communication
The access road was adventure! You should be very careful when driving - the road is not properly kept, its narrow with many holes. I dont recommend going there during night. There are only few navigation signs, we had to ask the person at the counter of the Chamarel 7 Colored Earth geopark where to go.

The place is ideal for lovers of fresh air, stunning views, comfort, privacy, and distance from the hustle and bustle of cities
If you want transportation, you have to be patient and wait for a long time.
4.3
The view is breathtaking.
Chalet 7 (the one we were in) was very close to the restaurant and therefore is less private than the other ones. If you can request chalets 1-3
Food in the restaurant could do with some work. Not 4* standard. But the view again, is what you are there for

The view!!!
Room!!!
Small touch - yoga mat!!
Dinner was spectacular, had to hug your chef!amazing food
4.3
the view, quiteness
cleanliness was poor, the Chalets have seen their best days, lots of traces of usage of the facilities, not worth the money (280€ per night)

Fantastic view..the best..
The food was not tasty, not varied and it was a disturbing smell in the room coming from the bathroom.
4.3
lovely accommodation in the mountains with stunning views
if you want to explore you need a car or a taxi
4.3
Best views on the island, wonderful, luxurious and spotless chalets. The view is to die for. It’s brilliant value for money - you’d expect to be paying a lot more.
The evening meal needs improving. The menu is quite limited, the food is a bit on the rustic side, and there’s odd things like no wine by the glass.
4.3
The place itself is beautiful, super close to the 7 coloured sands, and has the best sunsets.
The half board is really not great, since there are very few option which you don’t need to pay extra for. Also, some of the team was lovely, especially the guy who fixed our shower and the receptionist, however some other members of the hotels weren’t very nice :/
4.3
the view amazing
big chalet and confortable
cloth to chamarel park
food can be better and more choice without supplement to pay
4.3
The place is very quiet and nice. The chalets were very pleasantly furnished and clean. For the breakfast there was not too much choice but in overall it was fine. For the dinner great local and tasty kitchen. The view from the terrace is unbelivable... too pitty there aren´t any sun lounger at chalets for more comfort.
Very profit oriented politics which is highly annoying. Drinks are expensive, any additional service are very expensive. Late Check-out overpriced! They even wanted to charge us for the permittion to take fotos of us from a photographer. It was highly dissapointing because we had our honeymoon.
