My husband and I had such an amazing stay at Moberly Lodge! Lucille and Jonathan were very welcoming and helpful in planning activities in the area. The location of the lodge is very peaceful and quiet, a great spot to really relax. Our room had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. We also appreciated that the lodge was well maintained and clean throughout. We loved the style of this rustic lodge and the cosiness of the common area. Additionally, the breakfast was amazing and different every day. You could tell that it was prepared with love!
There is really nothing that comes to mind. Our stay was perfect!

The authentic log cabin was tucked away just outside of town to give a secluded feel. Tree and mountain views. The hosts were very friendly and happy to accommodate. The room was clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed. The hot tub was a nice bonus. Board games were available as well as communal lounging by the fire. The breakfasts were absolutely incredible and there was an option to store ski gear. Perfect for a quiet couple or two quiet friends, or the entire cabin could be booked for a larger group of friends.
The hosts were available upon request from a private area downstairs and happy to accommodate whatever request however, for small requests such as cutlery, glassware, microwave use it we felt we were a trouble each time we asked for something. This was in no way due to the hosts actions (they were very pleasant!), but just a matter of having to ask for everything food/kitchen related.

Amazing experience, I had booked our stay as a getaway weekend for our 26th Anniversary and I wanted something special for my wife. We were not disappointed with Moberly, it hit all the right notes. We booked for a three night stay.
I called the day before our arrival and asked if they could provide a special welcome for my wife. I was extremely impressed that the host took the time on the phone to ask me what I thought I would like to consider and budget. Upon arrival there was a terrific basket containing a flower arrangement, a scented candle, bottle of BC wine, BC gourmet wine candy and of course the requisite few chocolate truffles. This was a real personal touch, that made her day.
The hosts and staff are very welcoming and genuine making you feel as if you are old friends rather than an occasional visitor.
The Lodge is also warm and welcoming, spacious and comfortable with amenities that reflect thoughtfulness and charm. It is at once rustic but modern and not over the top. There are no phones or television, but that is a comfort rather than an inconvenience as it allows you to to relax and unwind in a very peaceful amazing natural setting and take in the views and surroundings. There is internet access if you need it and it worked well. After all you come here seeking rest, relaxation and romance so becoming unplugged for a short period of time does a world of good.
Included is a breakfast that I personally would call luxurious and unexpected. Start each day with homemade yogurt with berries and granola in jar, coffee and orange juice. Then each has a different entree. Day 1 was pancakes, sausages, fresh fruit and maple syrup. Day 2 a complex multigrain bagel creation with a quiche like egg, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and a side dish of fresh pineapple. Day 3 was egg benedict waffles. All was delicious fresh and meticulously prepared by a host who wants her guests to feast with their eyes as well as their tastebuds. You truly feel welcome.

Moberly Lodge is a stunning log built lodge with spectacular mountain views. It is situated well off the highway in a quiet wooded forest. The main lodge sitting and dining rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated and a great place to chit chat with fellow travellers. The guest rooms have comfy beds and great views. There was no TV in our room ( I consider that a plus!). The owners are very friendly and our breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The city of Golden is about a 10 minute drive for dinner or shopping.
