Burrows was a beautifully presented and well equipped property, having everything needed for a countryside stay within easy reach of the sea. Huge advantage having a bath/ shower room for each bedroom.

A lovely place to stay, great location, very comfortable, beautifully furnished.
A lovely place to stay, great location, very comfortable, beautifully furnished.
We had a very enjoyable break at Burrows, Easter decorations and delicious treats to eat and drink made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is very comfortable, beautifully furnished to a very high standard and well supplied with all that is needed for a stay away from home. The location is excellent, countryside walks are accessible without the need to drive anywhere. The hot-tub is a lovely facility to enjoy, though it would be most helpful if the (agreeably necessary) inspection could be carried out on a schedule of which the client is aware, rather than by random unannounced visits to the property.

It was a lovely holiday despite all covid restrictions nowadays. The house was lovely and exceeded expectations. The landlady Sarah was so attentive and helpful that we can't praise enough! Would definitely recommend!

NO PRIVACY
NO PRIVACY
Our stay at Burrows was less than enjoyable, so much so that we cut our stay short by 2 days. The Owners live next door and constantly entered the property to’ check’ the hot tub, twice daily and without any notice! Zero privacy. Logs rationed and had to constantly ask for more only to be told that people don’t understand how to use the log burner and so use too many! They expect you to hunt around Devon for a log supplier even though their house manual states that logs are available in the shed next to the cottage. No internet when we arrived and then no internet for last 2 days of our stay, no effort made by Owners to rectify. We booked this property on the basis of it being dog friendly and secure but it’s not. Large gaps under the gates and around the gates, dogs restricted to just the kitchen area internally. The property states on the booking details that a ‘luxury hamper’ awaits on arrival. No it doesn’t unless you call scones, clotted cream and a bottle of water as luxury. The full description included jam, cereals and other items. When questioned the Owners said it was due to COVID that they do not supply these items now which is a pathetic excuse to say the least. No jam because of Coronavirus, laughable. The property is on a working farm with the related comings and goings associated with this. The surrounding area is pretty but the local hostelries are lacking in atmosphere and shabby with few being dog-friendly. You need to drive to everywhere for supplies and dining out so far from ideal. All in all a sad experience.

A delightful, high standard, well equipped home from home tucked away in beautiful countryside.
A delightful, high standard, well equipped home from home tucked away in beautiful countryside.
We rented this property for a family weekend away on a trip down Memory Lane. The cottage is beautifully presented and maintained, very well equipped with many thoughtful touches. A bottle of Prosecco and a tray of scones, clotted cream and jam awaited us on arrival to mark the start of a memorable trip. We were able to bring our two dogs who settled in as if at home. There was good walking for the dogs on the doorstep and many places to eat and drink within easy driving distance. Perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy peace and quiet in this beautiful part of Devon.
