Out side temperature was 15 degrees , the heater wasn't working in the room and was unable to contact any staff. Had to leave the place at 1:20 AM and find other accommodation!!!

The hotel is old and quirky- full of charm. Our room was in the "courtyard" behind the main building. Our floor was not level. But the room was very spacious & comfortable. We had a real, wood burning fireplace! Dinner at Doc Martin's was excellent. Location in old town is perfect.
The reception desk is not always staffed. There is ample parking, but at first it is a little daunting to find.

the people, the history, the location
it’s a little tired and could use some updating
4.1
Great location. Music at bar fun, but you don't need to be a guest to enjoy it.
Quaint, but dark, uncomfortable, and overpriced rooms. Avoid any rooms that are on the passage from the back of the hotel and the bar/restaurant, which are noisy.
During the day, you can't enter the hotel from the street/main entrance... staffing issues?
4.1
charming place in perfect, central location. Some of the rooms could be noisy but we were lucky in a courtyard room. Live music every evening.
Badly smelly pillows and reception closed in the evenings- so no option to get them changed.

The location to the square and other attractions is very good.
The hotel is old and could use some updating, the bathtub's bottom was in need of an update. I read about the onsite restaurant, but it was closed on my stay due to staff shortage.
