Wonderful grounds, location, and beach at your doorstep. Great spot to relax, swim, snorkel, or learn to surf. The grounds are immaculate with lots of plants and flowers. There's a small shopping center across the street with restaurants. The beach is mostly private and a wonderful spot for sunsets. A beach cabana will give you a clean beach towel each day. There's a laundry facility on site.
Individual property owners manage each suite, so it's uneven. For the unit we stayed in, while clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished, the incidentals were barebones for the price. The minimum number of towels, a bent rack, enough shampoo for one night with three people for a week-long stay, and not enough flatware and plates. I would expect more of those secondary items for the premium rate.

Beautiful grounds good location
No housekeeping or towel refresh if booked on booking.com they actually said this. Had to gather and bring towels to front desk in front of guests checking in
4.1
Grounds were beautiful, beach access perfect.
we paid for an ocean view but didn't have one. we were told the building we were in was an ocean view building and that was that! the unit is in much need of updating. Resort advertises that there is a pool and restaurant, but they were off site across the main highway.

I loved being on the ground floor with patio straight onto a true garden of paradise. From this unit (unit 45) yes there are other units directly in front of you, however they are far away enough to be inconsequential, and they are low-rise two story units that are aesthetically nice, largely covered by trees and foliage anyway. I liked the wooden venetian blinds, ceiling fans (plus air-con), and very clean and modern (enough) interior. The beach is just a couple minutes away by foot, the surrounding gardens are wonderfully maintained (well done gardeners!!!) and the deck chairs for guests only are nice, and the beach hut with recreational swimming gear is a nice touch, convenient!
On some occasions the people above were noisy (walking about) - luckily they arrived a day before i left...I can imagine it could get annoying (e.g. if louder for longer). The cupboard had some old stuff inside (broken body board, old ironing board etc) - easily forgotten about. There were one or two cockroaches but that said we're on a tropical island(!!!) - all the Windows/doors have nettings so also must be aware to help keep them out. I have read other reviews, people complaining about the overall quality of their unit etc - I too would have also been angry if this place had not been nice (luckily this particular unit was nice) notwithstanding that it ain't exactly cheap (I was there solo).
Lastly, beware, if not a 'paradise' unit you might be placed into one of the larger (very much) more ugly buildings with 12+ or so units in each *as opposed to the unit that is the subject of this review, which are in blocks of 6 with v nice surroundings)

Location and grounds were great.
No daily room make up. Had to get our own fresh towels etc. An in room washing machine/dryer would be a nice addition also.

Location was fantastic
Sofa bed was terribly uncomfortable

the location itself and the ambience is really good.
some of the condos are by the road and pretty noisy

This was one of the last places available in Poipu and the least expensive when I booked a few months ago. Still with all the fees, added up to over six hundred a night. I wouldn't do it again, partly my fault for booking over the Dec. holidays. That's on me. Other times are less. It's a bit of an older place, last time we stayed was in 2009. Updated since.
Perhaps because of the holidays, it was pretty noisy with families and friends, plus the grounds crew spend a lot of time mowing and leaf blowing (battery powered still make noise). Grounds crew was very friendly. They did provide beach chairs, plus one towel per person with a card you traded in. The unit had 3 portable beach chairs and happily a beach umbrella, two boogie boards.
The particular unit we were in had some funkiness electrically, it took a couple days to figure out the various remote devices for fan, light, TVs, despite instructions and me being tech literate. My spouse wouldn't have figured it out. The internet was basic,, but it worked. The kitchen could have used some improvements, mentioned to the facility. Funky refrigerator, could use a hot water maker and a few more kitchen things, like at least a manual orange juicer. Came without spices or cooking oils. Pretty stripped bare. That was a surprise. We left some with instructions to NOT toss for the next renter. Only they will know (:-)
Kiahuna Plantation does provide propane BBQs strategically located. If you have an EV, they appear to offer complimentary L2 charging. Check with them if that's of interest.
The beaches around Poipu are pretty nice, though after some extreme weather are a bit rockier than I recall in years past. There's an athletic club you'll have access to, plus some shops, food, etc. within walking distance. However, get on the road and explore to the east - old sugar plantation, then west and up to Waimea Canyon and park.

Proximity to piopu beach.
The bed was uncomfortable.

great location, great staff, I was thrilled that our family had 3 different units to fit our needs, we used the grills with great success, the beach amenities were great. all around a great property with very friendly staff.
there was a lot of maintenance noise starting fairly early and happening all the days we were there. any chance it could change to electric leaf blowers? my stay from Booking.com was expensive, but then $900 in fees were added on - that was waaaaay too much.

The accommodation was located right next to the beach which was beautiful, hard to beat! The accommodation was extremely spacious with a lovely balcony. The grounds of the apartments are fantastic and really well looked after, a couple of bars in the neighbouring hotel are worth a visit. Nice and close to Poipu shopping.
the pool and gym facility over the road that you have access to are also a great addition.
It isn't particularly clear at point of booking that these are privately owned units. It's not a hotel. It's luck of the draw as to if you get a unit that has owners that have renovated...or not. Ours was pretty dated, the bathroom smelt strongly of damp, no air con and myself and my husband both got bitten on separate occasions after having sat on the sofa. For the money paid I would have expected so much more!
4.1
Great location and comfortable accommodations.
A pool on the grounds, rather than across the street would have been nice.

The beach was great, the location was good for going to places like Wiamea Canyon, the room was well equipped with a beach chair, surfboard, etc. Excellent bird watching from the room's porch.
We had no idea that the room didn't have air conditioning. It was tough to sleep even with fans running. The people staying in the unit above spent a lot of time stomping around their unit at all hours, pretty disrepectful.
4.1
The room was very nice and the view was amazing. The grounds are well kept.
We could hear the kids upstairs running through their room. At times it was very noisy.
4.1
Poipu location is great
The apartment did not have an AC. So we had to take a much more expensive one. Luckily one was available. When booking this location check if the room/ apartment has an AC.
4.1
accommodations were spacious
The room got very hot during the day and did not cool off until nearly morning. The bedroom was stifling, making it impossible to sleep. We would recommend to the owners that they install a/c in at least the bedroom.

Poipu Beach is an amazing part of the Island. The beach was terrific.
No restaurant on site. The pool and gym were quite a walk (across a main road), and the beach was a good 15 minute walk from our location on the property. A/C was lacking - one unit in the living room, which made it warm in the bedroom for sleeping.
4.1
The location is great. Close to shopping, restaurants, beaches, and not far from the airport.
The wifi wasn't setup so I had to use the neighbors wifi password. Each unit has their own modem and router so it would have been nice to use my own units equipment. These units usually supply some beach chairs and snorkeling gear. This unit only had one chair and just one fin. Not one set of fins, ONE fin aka flipper. The worst part was that one set of shutters would not close completely. This was in the bedroom. It literally allowed people walking by the ability to see in to the room. Not so cool for privacy. I had to cover the whole section. I guess I could have called the front desk to remedy these issues but they shouldn't exists in a place of this price point.

Beautiful location. Idyllic beach. Very nice property, grounds, and unit. Ice cold fridge.
tight corners in unit 72 bedroom; soft bed; no AC (we understand some units on property have and some units have not)

Location was great. The room was excellent and have fully equipped kitchen!
They don’t have room service by default, have to pay extra.

Great location and friendly people!
A few hours before we checked out I did try to rent a surfboard on my last day and have it charged to the room and unfortunately since it was my last day it couldn’t be charged to the room even though my credit card was on file. They required cash which I didn’t have on me at the time.

great location nice beach
no air conditioning and pool was off site

Conveniently located shuttle bus stop at its west entrance and we could reach the resort by public transportation comfortably. The beach was a few minutes walking distance and was spectacular. The resort has a very well kept garden and nearby shopping village also offered convenient access to all we needed.
There are 2 check-in receptions and we were asked to go tho the second guest registration office which was on the other end of the resort. Then we had to walk all the way back because our room was actually closer to the first registration office.

Our partial ocean view one bedroom condo was newly renovated with stainless appliances and stylist furniture. Good size balcony. Everything is clean an comfortable. Very quiet. Close to Poipu Beach where you can swim and snorkel. Every morning we saw five- six turtles resting on the beach.
Some noise from the road.

Loved the beach, location, walking distance, and the access to the pool and fitness center!
Beds were not that comfortable

The condo was clean with a beautiful ocean view. It was comfortable and safe
No air conditioner

The location was great - very convenient for us. The resort grounds were lovely - we really enjoyed looking at all the flowers. The beach was great although we didn't have time to swim here. We like having access to the Poipu Athletic Club across the street. We liked having access to a BBQ.
The kitchen had no spices other than salt and pepper and was missing some things like a collander. Just the bare basics in the kitchen. The foldout couch was not great as the feet were 6 inches higher than the head of the bed. The person in our party sleeping on the couch did not bother to open it up as it was more comfortable sleeping on it still folded up. We would have like to have been closer to the two other groups in our party but that was not a big issue given we were out and about with scheduled activities for many of the days we were there.
