This hotel is just on the edge of the popular Union Square area. It was close enough to walk to points of interest, but just out of range of crowds and noise. The staff was especially attentive and friendly.
I was happy with everything.

The hotel had 24/7 staff on the reception desk. We arrived very late so that was great. The building itself is beautiful and history of the hotel interesting. The staff serving breakfast was very nice and friedly. He had very good customer service sjills. I enjoyed talking to him. Forgot his name but he said he was from Mexico. Modest breakfast was complementary, it was nice to have a coffee and a piece of pastry before we left for the busy day in San Francisko.
The hotel is very small. There was only one small reception area and the rest are the rooms. Nothing to do and nowhere to spend some time after a long day. The rooms were small too, tiny tv screen and no cable TV. I didn't enjoy spending time in the room or in the hotel. Beds were uncomfortable and springy. Pillows weren't great either. Complementary breakfast was set up in the hall were there rooms are. We had to take it to our room as there were no common spaces in the hotel.

The breakfast was ok but disappointed there was no juice or conserves to have with the croissants
Juice and conserves would be nice to have with breakfast.

There was no parking but it’s sf

The coffee (black coffee) was really good. The bed is very comfortable, and the staff always kind. It's great they offer tea and water in the lobby area.
The internet connection must be improved. The signal is weak in the rooms, and there is no signal in the lobby. I think the hotel should implement their breakfast by offering a gluten free option or fruit.

Communication with the staff was good and timely. They helped us to find an oversized parking and gave us other good tips.
Liked the old fashion style of the place. The elevator is super cool! Shower had strong water pressure. We appreciated the cosmetics and hair dryer in the bathroom. Good selection of pastries for breakfast but that was it.
On Monday, there was lot of noise from water pipes and other guests from 6 am, but with earplugs it was fine.
The room we got #305 was pretty dark with 2 windows not getting much light.

Continental breakfast was more than adequate and we loved that it was available on every floor.
The Italian restaurant in the hotel is outstanding,
No small room refrigerator. Would also like a ice machine available on every floor.

provide the self-breakfast, hot water/coffee for free, and also luggage restored service
the bed is too softy

One of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The shower was excellent. All the staff were very helpful and polite .Loved the old building and the details such as old style lift and lights. The Italian restaurant next door is amazing.
Extremely quiet the first night but a little noisy the next night which was a Friday but not the fault of the hotel. The room was small but more than adequate.

The location is very convenient and good value for money. The hotel is old but charming and very clean. Wardrobe is very spacious so that you do not lose space in the room even if it is not very big.
The bathroom was very small. Personally it's not important but TVs are very old. There were no electricity plugs next to the bed. There is no common room for breakfast so you have to eat it in your room (but it's served at each floor so it's not a major problem).

It was an ok place.
Staff were helpful & friendly.
The complementary glass of wine each evening was a nice
Rooms were a bit tired.
Hotel is situated in the Tenderloin district, which a bit of a dodgy. Some of the surrounding streets are like camp sites in the morning.

The complimentary breakfast was a real bonus. The staff very friendly and the room comfy and clean.

loved the character of the building and the Bar/Restaurant was wonderful.
it’s been said before and yes, the rooms are on the small side but as a base to go exploring/working etc I was absolutely fine with it.

.The in-house Italian restaurant was very busy and understandably, so due to the excellent food and service. All the staff were fiery friendly and efficient
The breakfast was very basic and never changed

The building is a lovely old building in a good location. It has some beautiful old features.
The bathroom is small but we managed perfectly well.

Great location, with lots of places to eat in the vicinity. Close to Union Square, with Macys and other big stores and where you can jump on the cable cars and buses. Ten minutes or so walk to the BART train at Powell Street, for train to and from airport.
Room and bed on the small side. No fruit served at breakfast, only lots of (very delicious) pastries.

It was a good location and relatively comfortable
There was a 100 dollar per night deposit which is a bit ridiculous. I was just a student over there and this completely caught me off guard and almost caused me to sacrifice one of my trips to the states. they gave me a tiny room also.

Location was super. Big clean room, nice staff. Breakfast was a nice plus. Would stay again at any time!
