The service was terrible. No assistance from management. They disabled my keys because of a mistake on their end then charged me an additional amount when I checked out. Don’t stay here, everything is outdated. Staff is not friendly and ammenities are not up to good standard.
Staff was rude and not helpful. No housekeeping while we were there. If we wanted towels or bath tissue we had to retrieve it ourselves.

Nothing, absolutely nothing.
Everything. It is located in a drug deranged area. We booked for 3 nights and left after the 2nd. You will get no sleep.
No aircon, no breakfast, even though they said it was available.
Electrical switches and plugs were faulty and the tap dripped all night. Not that you could hear it with all the junkies going crazy outside.
Do not try to walk out of the hotel, you will be robbed.

Decent rooms and bathroom, was decently clean, I did appreciate the locked front doors at the hotel.
First thing my Uber driver said to us was “I would recommend you get a different hotel in a different area”. Not great to hear first time you are getting out of the car in San Fransisco. That was the main reason why I wouldn’t stay here again. night time it is very loud in the streets around the hotel and I honestly did not walk the streets at night and would not recommend that. I did feel safe walking the streets during the day. They have locked doors at the front doors of the hotel, so once I was inside the hotel, I felt safer. No hangers in closet. Tv was blue the whole time we were there and we did not know how to fix it. Ice machine and elevator were broken first day we got there and was not fixed until after we left.

Pretty quiet
Elevator was out so it was a pain to get to 5th floor

The interior of the building was well kept and clean. The bed was quite spacious and comfortable.
The surrounding area felt unsafe at night.

Old building remodeled with new modern furniture. Safety gate at entrance
Location ... Lots of homeless and somewhat sketchy area and people surrounding the streets

the bed, and the staff
too many homeless around the area.

I confused the date of staying. I needed to stay in February 9-10, not 7-8. Nobody called or texted me to ask will I arrive at all. I realized that I got confused when I arrived at the hotel. I paid one more time but didn’t get money for previous back.

nice vintage vibe, great costumer service from the staff, confortable beds and clean spaces
the coffee machines didn’t work, there was no water to drink on the rooms
2.5
it was clean
the music they played throughout the building was obnoxiously loud, plus it sounded like the same damn song over and over.
one of the night time front desk staff members kept hitting on me. I had to make up some story for him to leave me alone, which he didn’t. I had to have a friend walk me in one time so I wouldn’t be bothered by this guy.
I was going through a very hard time and I walked in with my 2 little parakeets. the cleaning lady said something and they made me leave the next day. my birds weren’t loud and didn’t bother anybody. i just think it’s weird that when i checked in with them, nobody gave me a problem.
Also, the rooms are very cold and very small.

The room itself was clean and organized, the bed was large and comfortable as well and the TV had streaming services.
No coffee which was advertised on the listing, no heater in cold San Francisco winter and the shower head also didn't work.

The hotel was a short walk from civic. Name of the street was easy to remember, and the hotel sign was very visible.
The staff was kind and respectful, I am not an early riser but the cleaning staff never bothered me, and when they try to get your attention they knock and ask first.
The room is spacious and clean, it doesn’t have carpet which I prefer. It also has a coffee maker. The Bathroom is spacious and well lit. It was well stocked shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, handsoap AND hydrating face cream dispensers! And a copious amount of towels. The room is clean and has a/c.
Great location, quick and easy walk to shopping area and if you don’t mind not rushing and walking, you can walk all the main attractions and more.
Amazing price!
Nothing the hotel can do about.
But good to know if you plan to book. It’s about the surrounding, not only at the hotel but you see it and hear it everywhere. SF is a BIG city.
For light/sensitive sleepers: it is noisy.
For those who are easily scared/sensitive in general: The homeless people are very visible and sometimes in groups . (I had to get used to it, but the man at check-in told me that they usually don’t bother people, but stay alert.)
However , I also saw some sort of city/neighborhood security. (not police)

beds are comfortable and everything is very clean.
my room is freezing. The cleaning ladies never come check if I need clean towels or anything else. been out of toilet paper for 2 days now.
also, they play music in the hallways and lobby. it’s so loud I can hear it through the walls and it sounds like they play the same song over and over.

I liked the spacious room and the bed was super comfortable! The staff at the front desk were very helpful.
the heater didn’t work so we had to get two portable heaters. I also forgot to check the facility’s parking, which there is none. I had to get up before 6am to find a new parking spot. lots of homeless.
3.5
Bed was very comfortable, and the historical elevator was very cool.
Awful location. Be very careful at night in the surrounding blocks. Our car was broken into. The lobby didn't have any amenities working. The tap pours aren't ready and the espresso machine was broken. Missing many little room things. No USB ports, body wash was empty, no bathmat, no storage or drawers at all, no hangers in the closet. Very minimal. Hair in the shower.

beyond disgusting and vile neighborhood, pictures shown are from atleast a few years ago. drove right past it and let it hit my card for not staying in a homeless drug den. homeless man and woman having literal sex on the street in the right lane blocking traffic 1 block away

The manager and the guy behind the desk were really accommodating but not at all forthcoming.
Interior seemed stylish and the outside did not look as bad as expected from the outside.
We were happy to get a refund as soon as we decided to not stay there
Really bad neighborhood, you actually DO hear the homeless scream - even at daytime. When we checked in, I had to ask where breakfast was for the guy behind the desk to (nicely and apologetically) tell me there currently was not breakfast available (but it was in the booking!) - we agreed on a 10% refund. We then waited for a room to be ready, they gave us a room that was JUST cleaned - the toilet wasn't clean, the wall paint chipped on the floor, the window was closed crooked (and really dirty) and it was SO cold. Mind you this in November. We couldn't really close the blinds to not get any light and the outside was easily heard even with windows now closed. The heating unit did not work, we needed to go down to the desk to ask If it just takes a really long time - but we were AGAIN told (nicely and apologetically) that the heating unit wasn't working and that we could get a portable heater.
We decided not to remain in the cold, dirty, loud room and checked for other hotels. That's where we found that the hotel we were currently in offered the same room at -100$ rate for the same time span.
WHY were they not forthcoming in telling me that there was no breakfast and only mobile heating and simply comped me the 100$? I don't know. After deciding to leave the hotel they were understanding and apparently handled everything.

Nothing
The area is so bad too many homeless people there was no heater in our room the carpet is dirty mold in the tub had to change the light bulb ourselves in the bathroom and housekeeping doesn’t clean the room until after 4pm and cleans it halfway and doesn’t provide refilling coffee and toiletries while cleaning the room.

Very clean fresh looking hotel. Very helpful stuff. a really good value for money.
The homeless people constantly surrounding hotel.
4.2
The staff
The noise from the street. It would be nice if you put noise proof windows.
