staff was very welcoming and accommodating.
The train noise but that can’t be changed. Would not keep me from staying again.

The place is very nice. The courtyard is so pretty to me. When you walk in the smells from the Bar and Grille are mouth watering. The elegant yet comfortable lobby and reception area as well as the welcoming from the sweet receptionist were just what I was in need of when my daughter and I walked through the doors. Then we were told they were upgrading us because they did not have a room available that we had chosen online, this was perfect for us anyways. The put us on the highest floor and we never heard another person the entire time we were in our room. The placement is perfect, we went for a walk through downtown, most of the shops had already closed but we were perfectly content with window shopping and the beauty of downtown at night. The beds, linens, duvet, and pillows have to be the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The bathroom was perfectly small and the tub deep and perfect for soaking, the water perfectly steamy.
The rooms are on the smaller side, It was perfect for my daughter and I but had we had any extra people it would not have been. I actually loved this for the situation we were in however if I was traveling with my husband and girls it would have been to small. We were in a double full however so that might have just been that room/floor. The price was a little more than I would like to spend usually. Though it is a vintage hotel, it is nice and the location is amazing, I don't find it a reasonable price for the stay in my opinion.

Good location and a comfy bed.
Check in was a mess. I was suppose to check in at 3:00pm my room was not ready until 3:45p. I was in town for a wedding and almost didn't make it in time. I needed to get ready in the hotel room and it was not cleaned prior to my arrival despite the hotel approving the 3:00pm check in. For some reason, I was charged a pet fee so the $139 room I booked magically turned into a $204 stay. The staff were not able to take off the fee so I still have to call to make sure that will be taken care of later.
No one does walk throughs of the property b/c the quality of the room was not ok. The security chain for the room was broken, the bed side tables have water damage, were peeling, and missing knobs. The carpet needed to be replaced/repaired years ago. The carpet is separating from the underlay and the wall in places. Parking can be tricky. I'm usually patient and understanding. I can forgive the check-in delay, or the state of the room/furniture, or tacking on a fee for a pet I didn't have. I can't forgive all three. Front desk staff was kind and tried to be helpful, but the issues for this hotel are clearly for maintenance/management to figure out. I usually love staying at boutique hotels for the historic architecture
and the classic retro feel, but this was one terrible. Never again.

I booked 2 rooms through Booking.com. On the day of check-in, I was called and told my rooms were not available due to over-booking. I called the hotel and discussed the matter and explained that it was within a couple hours of check-in and it was unacceptable to not honor my reservation. They called me back an hour later to say they were able to accommodate one room, not two. I took their offer because other accommodations were not available due to it being a game weekend. My biggest complaint is they wouldn't refund me for the room I didn't get.

location…great to walk to most places we needed. restaurant downstairs and 5 knocks downstairs were both out of this world amazing.
only thing I could say negative about the property is there was no unloading area but parking wasn’t that far.

Historic and close to venue that we were attending
Front desk staff were less than helpful and even less friendly. Although we were told about the train when we checked in if we had known it was right there we would have stayed elsewhere. The AC was not adjustable or was broken in out room we set it to warm and low and woke up 8 hrs later and the ice hadn't even melted on our drinks and our bottle water was colder tha cold.it was so cold in our room at one point my husband could see his breath.
