Was soll das?

The look of the castle was amazing and something I definitely will never forget. I LOVED our room and the theme was so beautiful.
Wish the hot tub was bigger because if there was 2 people already in it you had to wait.
3.3
The castle is great, very well maintained and managed. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Nothing!

Staff was so nice. Wine was fun.
Run down facility.

Super unique loved that you can roam and explore the property definitely a gem spot in Michigan!

the ambiance was very cool. But to walk around or tour the castle you have to pay an extra fee which we did not do
the room was not as advertised. the jacuzzi tub was not functional as it had no drain plug and we asked for one and although the staff said he would find one we never heard back. The whole reason I chose the room was for the tub. The bed was saggy and we thought it was a 2 bed room but it was a bed and a regular couch so my daughter slept on the cushions on the floor. Free breakfast was skimpy on portion and the extra breakfast my daughter paid for was not good.

The hot tub was very very dirty. There was never any staff around to help/answer questions, there were multiple times we had a question and couldn’t find a single person to ask for help. The breakfast was very subpar for a bed and breakfast, the dishes were dirty, the staff members were scarce and we waited 25 minutes for our food the first morning. The staff were very uninformative, she just led us to our room and then left, no info on when and where breakfast is, how to get to the roof, where the hot tub was, where the spa was, etc.

Place was very nice. Great staff!!
Room was too hot AC unit was too small. We stayed in the tabiten room. Bed was not comfortable.

WaS there early, the company wanted to charge me 25 each hour I was early. So i left cam back to only to find out when we came back that out room was not even ready for our stay. It was then already 430 p.m . After we got conformation stating our room was not even close to being ready. Ask for cancelation because of the situation and was given a bunch of excuses why they couldnt give refund .

Sitting on the porch in the evening was the best part of our stay. The gardens were pretty, but were also behind on upkeep.
The overall upkeep of this historic landmark is behind. From the gardens to the bedding and just general dusting - more time and effort need to be given by the staff that is present.

The history of the Henderson Castle was interesting to know.
Where to start. Very overpriced for a run down bed and breakfast. We were in the Victorian room with dust everywhere. Either the lights didn't work or only had one light bulb. Such a waste for a beautiful chandelier in our room.
The bathroom shower was a curtain in the corner. You literally stood in the corner. The floor flooded because of where the drain was. Oh...they left you a squeegee to move the water to the drain and a fan. The continental breakfast wasn't much but fair. But the linen on the table were on the wrong way. I was disappointed. The castle needs attention.
I would not recommend.

The property was beautiful the rooms adequate, stayed in queen's tower, the decor was fantastic the ambiance was unbeatable food good
Staffing of front desk was not always there so if you needed something for room coffee, towels most of the time before 4pm you had to go looking around for someone.

I loved how comfy our room was (maple tree). The bed was the most comfortable. And the table.set up in our room with the wine glasses was a nice touch to our stay.
I didn't like the jetted tub. Half of it didn't work and took like 30 minutes to get half way filled up. It was kinda dirty too.
3.3
Nice unique location.
We stayed in the Tibet room and the bed was in poor condition. For a premium B&B we expected a nice mattress. We stayed two night and both our backs hurt. Also, my wife thought it needed to be cleaner in general. We will not return.

The aesthetics of the property were nice. We didn’t experience any amenities as they were either not chosen are unavailable.
In the spirit of preserving the historic nature of the property, I understood the lack of modern luxuries. However, the room left much to be desired. A tub in the middle of the room with no enclosure of any sort was disappointing. One small mirror by the door was sub-par. A crouched navigation to the water closet was inconvenient. And the lack of common goods (hand soap, coffee cups, etc.) was remarkable. There also wasn’t anywhere to sit. The Vineyard room had one chair that nobody would actually want to sit in. We already decided not to eat (reviews indicated overpriced dining) but intended to have a cocktail before heading out. However, there was nobody in the bar so we didn’t generally spend any time there. We checked out a day early.

meal at private party was overpriced for its presentation and taste. It was mostly cold by the time it arrived. Heat in room stopped by Sunday morning and I had to get a electric fireplace to stay warm. It started working again on Monday morning. Person driving a large truck with horse trailer parked up the upper parking lot and hit my car trying to make a U-turn to leave. I know that isn't your fault. Just another upsetting situation. I got charged for cleaning twice even though no one cleaned between the two nights I stayed. Besides the Covid cleaning, which I doubt you are still doing you charged twice for Historical space cleaning.. Second night should have only included tax on room not all the extra taxes.

very nice want to see it summertime
no tv remote

the restaurant was very over priced for the quality of the food. our cottage did not have towels, no liner in trash can, of the two bulbs in the bathroom one didn’t work, lamps in the bedroom didn’t work.

Every step of the way got worse and worse. From the time we walked in to the time we finally said enough is enough and left without staying overnight. Staff was hard to find and rude. Room was disgusting with mouse traps, a twin sized hard as a rock bed in place of the queen they advertised, leaky valves in shower with a sign saying you will be charged for any water spills. Windows that would let less air in if they were full open. Room was freezing cold. Several light switches didn't work. Drinks at bar were flat. Good was as bad as the service.

The expectation for breakfast was to receive an American breakfast. Instead, we were offered raisin bran cereal, juice and coffee. If we wanted something else, it was at an additional cost which was very pricey. Very disappointed considering how much the room cost. To say the least, we opted out and went to a local restaurant, Nina's Cafe, which was just down the road. Excellent breakfast and great wait staff there.
The breakfast, or lack there of. Also, the dinner entre offered was not as expected either. Beef Wellington was served with a half of croussant on top, the mashed potatoes were cool and tasteless and the vegetable was subpar.

it’s so beautiful and the staff was amazing, Drakar was wonderful and bending over backwards to make our stay perfect.
Sink didn’t drain, power kept going out, rooms could use better housekeeping service.

The location was nice and central, the castle looks nice from the outside.
Maximum profits, minimal effort is how I would classify this business. The "cabin" we stayed in was terrible and probably violates several safety regulations. Space heater on the floor, loud fans that turn on/off constantly all night, whoever signed off on the bathroom/shower design should never work on the industry again. Not enough staff to run the business efficiently. Had to wait 20 minutes for the receptionist to get off the phone to start making our breakfast. Similar problem plagued the other guests as we discussed our stay during breakfast. Will not be returning to this place again.

Site and facility were beautiful, set on a hill overlooking the city. Nicely kept 1895 mansion. Beautiful woodwork
Long climb to 3rd floor room, no elevator, other rooms on 2nd floor were unused, not sure why I was assigned to top floor. Manager stated on morning that I left that the maintenance staff had turned on the heated floors the day I arrived, and they were wonderfully warm, till during the night when I found that the thermostat in the room didn't control the floor heat, and the room was uncomfortably hot all night. The bathroom was ancient and the shower was adequate, but could not shut it completely off after using it and it continued to let water drip heavily which then got the entire floor wet. It is however a very old building, and is charming

It is a beautiful historic property and with historical buildings come the quirks of age. Having employees stay in the rooms to assess the functionality of each one would go a long way toward helping to identify issues (i.e. no hangers or drawers to store clothing, liquid soap dispensers at the tub but not in the shower etc.) These issues would be easy fixes once identified. All the staff went out of their way to be very helpful and accommodating.

beautiful and historic but management was horrible. After a four hour drive we arrived at the property only to be told they didn’t have any rooms because of a mix up. They did offer to get us a room at a motel near by but we booked here because we wanted a unique place fir our Halloween weekend trip. No call or notification at all until we arrived. The manager was not very helpful but eventually the owner was on the scene and we agreed to stay for dinner. They did not have items on the menu, out of clean wine glasses, prices were extremely high and the atmosphere of the 3rd floor room they put us in for dinner was disappointing. They had a “house” wine that tasted like it was very cheap in spite of the price tag of $49.50 per bottle. The glass of sprite I was served with dinner was warm and flat. We felt so bad for the waiters as they had to apologize for so many things. On a BETTER NOTE: Thé young employees were amazing!!! They made us laugh, put us at ease and we had a nice time in spite of all that was wrong because of them. There were two that really went the extra mile for us: Alexander and Sydney. Thank you to both of you for saving the day. We really appreciate both of you for all you did to make our experience better. François is very lucky to have both of you on his staff!!! I advise anyone considering a trip to the Henderson Castle to be warned that they are extremely unorganized. You may or may not have a room when you get there. If you are lucky enough to get a room it could be a great time. I read the awful reviews before I booked and I called them with my concerns before I booked and STILL it was a disaster. Book at your own risk.
beautiful mansion with rich history
