Everything, a real standout building in Salem. A land mark all of its own. Truly amazing to be able to say we have stayed in this historic building.
Everything was amazing apart from the mattress. It was slightly to form for my liking, but that could just be preference. Everything else was perfect.

The location but not enough to pay this much again.
Woman at check in was rude. Bathrooms were very small.

bed was comfortable. location is great. desk clerk was great as well.
Barking dog! apparently the owners went out to dinner and left the dog unattended. It barked for almost two hours! The desk clerk said "we do the best we can" I do not think hotels should be "pet friendly" for sanitary and health reasons. For this reason we will likely not stay at the Hawthorne again. Thank You

The size of the room was pretty small

Historic, comfy bed
Small room, bathroom door hit the bed, had to swing close. But easy adjustment to overlook due to historic nature

They turned the ac off during the night and got very hot in the room. Bed was extremely hard.

Rooms held original era charm as did entire hotel. Beds comfortable. Was able to walk everywhere from the hotel. Complimentary Tea, Coffee and bottled water was awesome. Staff was extraordinarily.
Nathaniel restaurant was gorgeous but food not worth the price. Food was good but we walked other places for better food and good prices.

overall great stay! would recommend. superb location and very comfortable room.
the only small issue was that I forgot the put the « do not distub » sign so the maid woke me up and entered the room early in the morning. given that I was checking out the same day i thought it was weird they didn’t wait for me to check out entirely before trying to come and clean the room

This place is awesome! The staff is top notch! They are kind and really care. They gave me a wonderful tray of cookies and a note for my birthday!
It's the little things that make the Hawthorne my top suggestion to stay in Salem.

The parking situation wasn’t great due to a wedding however there is a garage about .2 miles from the property.

Wonderfully historic hotel in the heart of Salem! Beautiful, comfortable, and affordable. Lovely breakfast in Nathaniel's as well. Complementary tea and coffee station in the mornings.
The bathroom was split between a shower room on one side of the room and the toilet and sink on the other side of the room. Bit difficult to maneuver in the early mornings!

I was comforted after a crazy trip. Friendly staff. Funny staff. Vibe of hotel. Comfy bed and hotel. Awesome tub and soaps. Great view from window.
