We love any of the ocean front rooms - the views are all amazing and the balcony with seating for morning coffee or evening chats are great! The corner rooms for extra luxury and spectacular views are the best!
We have stayed at Royal Kona a minimum of six times and have never been disappointed in our room location or the views. I will say the rooms in the Alli Tower get the full experience of the sound of the ocean waves but that was a nice unexpected treat!

The surrounding areas of the hotel are very hard to beat by other hotels in Kona. The bar views and pool are great! Overall the hotel is basic, if you can make peace with having a simple comfortable room to come back to after a great day out or after spending time in the hotel amenities it is perfect.

La zona es muy atractiva, está todo cerca del hotel y con mucha actividad
Nos tocó una habitación al lado de la maquinaria, se oía bastante incluso con las ventanas cerradas

Was able to change rooms for a better view of the ocean. Had a nice view each night of the Luau and pool. Comfortable beds and quiet.
Initially the view of the first room we had looked out onto the roof which was unpleasant, but we were able to change rooms immediately upon check in.

Parking was limited.
Very old hotel. Need a lot of renovation. Plus the lobby need sign to tell customer where to line up for check-in, because the lobby was pack with people standing around talking and you can't tell if they are in line or not. I had a jerk yelling & swearing at me in front of the whole lobby & staffs during check-in since he said I skip people who was waiting to get check-in which I had no idea they where in line to check in. It was ridiculous.

I liked the location
Very outdated. Pool guy was a jerk to everyone. Even other groups were talking a out him. We had to wait to be seated when there were many places to stay. Also a long wait for very few people. Very stupid

Currently undergoing some construction but didn’t disrupt my stay.

We were on the ground floor which was convenient for us. The view from the upper floors would be better, but we liked the ground floor.
This was a nice hotel. In it's day it may have been a 4 star hotel. But now it is very nice 3 star hotel.

It was on a beautiful spot and near restaurants and shopping area. It was clean and well taken care about.
Parking space was very limited and even though you had paid for a spot it was not selfevident to get a space.
The restaurant was short of staff and you had to wait for a table for a long time. Breakfast offering was vey limited, luckily there was restaurants nearby with a lot more to choose from.

Renovation. However renovations were done with the guest in mind and only during the day.

The view
Seemed a bit forgotten… maintenance, no heated pool no lights in the pool. Pool close too early. Never saw the restaurant and just saw an empty room that smelled quite old.
The reason of our stay at your hotel is mainly because our Family “kids “ parents
Wanting to buoy and have some time looking at the ocean while kids enjoy playing at the pool… not feeling rush because of some lightning situation that could very well be fixed.

The location was ok.
Staffing and service. The front desk was fine, but the restaurant and bar looked as if it was understaffed and people were not friendly. On the morning we were leaving housekeeping staff barged into our room not once but twice. And this was well before we were to check out.

You offered hotel room that were under construction- the hallway of the building had paper taped to the carpet - hammering all afternoon - also the way you advertised- new construction- bummer
The fact that you offered a stay in the building that is being worked on - as advertised as “reconstruction” upgraded rooms that were not complete

Location
There was a lot of construction that was supposed to be completed end of October. They didn’t notify me of this when sending me an email to charge me for the booking 3 days before arrival. When I asked to move to a quieter room, same type they wanted to charge me $50 change fee at the desk.
The resort charge is a joke given the lack of facilities.

We did not eat breakfast there. Our room was by the main road and we could hear noisy traffic all hours.
Room location and updated rooms.

Loved the seaside location and the places outside along the sea wall to sit and watch sunrises and sunsets. The wait staff at the restaurant was super!

Decent view of the ocean from our room. Amazing view and venue at the restaurant/bar located right on the edge of the water. The coconut shrimp was EXCELLENT! As was the prime rib; the fish and chips were ok - we were given 2 complimentary mai tai tickets upon check in and were impressed with the quality as well as the quantity of the portions - the prices are really reasonable, service excellent - Highly recommend the restaurant. All staff encountered were top notch (friendly and helpful) at this hotel which has lovely grounds (check out the lagoon pool as well as the regular pool) - great location within walking distance of the downtown district, but out enough to be very quiet.
Really have no complaints about this hotel - be aware that parking is across the street (in a secured lot) and is an additional fee which I was expecting as it is indicated in the listed details. The room is just a teeny bit dated, but clean and comfortable with the usual amenities, with the exception of no microwave (there is a coffee maker and mini fridge).
