The Inn was charming. The grounds are well tended to. The staff is accommodating and helpful. The bed was comfortable.
The lighting in the room could of been better. The Roku TV was really annoying.

Considering the cost of staying I would expect daily housekeeping. Trash wasn't emptied, no clean towels and no bed making.

Breakfast was delicious! Two courses prepared fresh for each guest as they trickled in with no lengthy delay.
The choices of rooms available wasn’t clear on booking.com… the property and rooms were even nicer than we thought and we might have chosen a different room. Even though we had no complaints in the one we had.

We’d stayed at the main inn before, and we wanted to check out one of the cottages. The room was spacious, clean, and very private. We slept on the best bed after enjoying a strong shower. Service was superb from check-in to happy hour and breakfast.
A simple guide to the heating system would have helped.

Location, breakfast and features of the property
it took a while to understand the heating and air system. The TV had too many channels and we gave up trying to find our favorites.
4.5
The room was very beautiful, spacious, and had all the amenities. Parking was good. The location was within short walking distance of hotels and shops in Santa Ynez. Also, it is a short driving distance from Solvang, Los Olivos, Los Alamos, and many wineries. The hostess and staff were wonderful. The breakfast was nice, the one we had was orange juice, diced fruit with yogurt and granola, popovers, and a choice of quiche or scrambled eggs with sausages, plus coffee, tea, chocolate milk, etc.
We are short (under 5'3) and also over 70. The bed was so high we had to leap into it, a hilarious image for sure. But I did hurt my back. We did not want to move the very nice upholstered chairs to use them as stepping stools. So next time we will bring a fold-up stepping stool.
Though the breakfast was nice and plentiful, we wish we had known ahead of time what it was so that we could decide whether to stay for breakfast or go elsewhere.

Quite good breakfast & happy hour. Beautiful place.
A night light in the room would have been nice.

The Staff was great, the room was great, the breakfast was great, the guidance on wineries and restaurants was great, the happy hour was great.
The staff left at 6:00 and locked the door. We had one key. I gave the key to my wife to go to our room and when I tried to get in the door was locked and no one was there, so I had to shout up two levels to get my wife's attention. Fortunately, our balcony door was open and she heard me, otherwise I would have been confined to the front porch until she came looking for me. Having no one around after 6:00, or no way to call anyone is not a great plan.

Well located in the Santa Ynez Valley, close to everything but not in the middle of the far more touristy towns. Fabulous breakfast. Huge room with comfortable bed and very large bathroom.

The morning breakfast was perfect base for a day of sightseeing or wine tasting. Dave is the perfect host and he makes sure that all your needs are met.
