Breakfast was good. Staff were pleasant, it was clean
I was expecting a bathtub in my room. Instead only got a shower. I complained about it but was not transfered to the room with a bathtub

Would have liked a small boutique shop

Perfect location. Responsive staff and friendliest front door staff! Save a cash tip for them, but they are amazing even if you forgot your cash. The Bazaar DC restaurant upstairs is amazing! Get a reservation, AND KEEP IT. You will thank me later.
Excellent service and accommodations will cost a pretty penny. The downstairs bar lounge is categorically slow and unresponsive EVERY time we have been there. (5+ stays now). We keep trying, and they keep disappointing (when busy and not busy). The historic lobby, "chill factor, and aesthetic are just stunning so we keep giving it a try if Bazaar is booked up. FYI, the bar in the lobby has NOTHING to do at all with Bazaar restaurant upstairs.

Don’t know the history of the building, but Lincoln’s library being there is clear evidence that this place is historical. Of all the employees I contacted I would mention Milan as the one who fits this place.
When we arrived at the hotel by Uber taxi the bellboy and, perhaps, the valet parking guy were talking to each other. Only when we started to climb the stairs the bellboy decided to ask if we are checking in. Four people each carrying a bag, I was traveling with my wife and two kids, trying to enter a hotel and him asking us if we are checking in?
The doormen killed me with his answer to my “good evening”. It was - MHM.
The server in the lobby restaurant, a bald older guy, don’t know his name, spilled water on my wife’s phone so that almost the whole screen was in water. He went on like nothing happened.
The last thing. The slippers in a 5-star hotel must be in the room by default.

The hotel staff and conserier was Fantastic
The breakfast and lunch food was very slow to get to table.

Historic, good location , good refurbishments
All historic buildings have limitations. For example not enough electric sockets, too strong air-conditioning etc.
The restaurants mediocre quality, the Spanish extremely slow service. This is the reason that I will not come to this hotel again. Also the Spanish restaurant personnel have an :attitude" problem

My room was spotless. The front door and front desk attendants were exceptional
The bartender provided our drinks and never returned
She spent a large part of the hour talking with a waitress that seemed to have personal matters
Eventually another server noted we had finished our cocktail and provided our check. We were never offered another drink , snacks or food
We decided to sit in the restaurant area to complete our evening and birthday celebration
I am in my 60s and am not impatient
I found your hospitality is extraordinary, and one individual can change the dynamic and perception of your hotel quickly. If this occurred on the first evening of my stay I may not have rated my experience as a 10 for the most part.

Food was delicious and room service was prompt and delicious Xavier on check out day was prompt offering free breakfast to us and Apologies for all our grievances which we though nice. It didn’t come close to making up for our stay which we had kept for a special occasion which we’ll never ever forget for the wrong reasons
Arrived there to check in after a long day checking out the wonderful museums in dc just wanting to freshen up and go to the bar for a bite to eat and a few cocktails but couldn’t get our room key until just before 8 pm we thought minor hiccup ordered room service which was great went to more museums the next day arrived back at our room about 6 pm to get ready for a new year’s party and to our surprise our room wasn’t serviced room service table, dishes still where they were left no bins emptied no clean towels we went down to complain they apologised and said they’ll sort it well an hour later still no sign of anyone I noticed house keeping collecting bags in the corridor and explained the situation they gave us some fresh towel’s and to please take the table as we had ordered room service again and needed the space. As we left for our party we again approached reception they apologised again and said they would have our room cleaned when we were out but again we arrived back about 1.30 am our room still wasn’t touched all our room service dishes and table were still there so we approached front desk again and they sent housekeeping up to remove dishes and table and gave us fresh towels ( when I went to use I lifted one and the one underneath had brown stains on it needn’t say those towels were not used disgusting).
