Beautiful interior that hearkens to the days of yore

Baer House Inn is a beautiful and well preserved trip back in time. Just sitting in the ballroom and looking at the incredibly high ceiling is worth a few minutes of introspection. The rooms feel special and are served by tasteful, period furniture. The breakfast was lovely.

The property suffers a little for location, surrounded by government facilities and some neglect. It makes for an inconsistent walk to the historical center.

You can smell the history of this house and area right after opening the door. Patricia, the owner, is a great host. We loved every single minute we spent in this beautiful and peaceful place.

Charming, historical B&B.

This was my first foray into the B&B world, I am an introvert and prefer the anonymity that a nice chain hotel offers. This was a great choice for a first timer with an interest in history. The owner was friendly, the room was nice and the bed was comfy. Had I not been just stopping for the night I would have endeavored to read one of the excellent books in the room. Now the funny part: my wife (originally from Thailand) believes that ghosts exist and as soon as she saw the place she just knew that she would be visited by former owners of the house. She told my adult daughter this (who is an avid B&B fan) and wouldn’t you know my daughter searched the web and found that this place was featured in some ghost-hunter show. I am happy to report that no ghosts visited us in the night! The breakfast at a large shared table was excellent as was the conversation! A great stay, looking forward to spending more nights here in the future.

Baer House Inn is a beautiful 1870 home, fully restored as a bed and breakfast & accommodating host.

Breakfast was tasty and plenty for us. Really enjoyed sitting down with another guest. Hostess was cordial and on top of things like coffee.

The Perfect Place To Stay In Vicksburg

The rooms were beautiful. The owners were so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was fantastic. Quiet, roomy, authentic. Close to everything. And for the price, you get so much more. Plenty of parking spaces behind a gate.

Comfortable stay in a grand old historic house.

This was a stately old home in the historic district of Vicksburg. Magnificent woodwork throughout, grand staircase, very high ceilings, and large rooms. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Personable hosts.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay!

It’s a beautiful house and the couple running the establishment were very sweet. The house and room we stayed in was very clean and the breakfasts they made for us tasted really good!

Fantastic place to stay in historic Vicksburg whether as a destination or road trip stopover!

Absolutely stunning interior! Being there during the Christmas holiday season made it special with the lovely seasonal decor. Breakfast was fantastic. Great location near historic downtown Vicksburg with nice shops and restaurants.

We loved our stay in Vicksburg & Baer House was just perfect for us. Patricia was the best host, her knowledge of the area was superb, she gave us lots of useful tips. When in the area absolutely don’t miss the National Military Park, we downloaded the Park App & did a self guided tour which we found a great & informative way to take it all in. Also if you get chance do the tour of McRaven House, we took the evening tour, very spooky! Make sure you read up on the history of Baer House itself or ask the hosts, so interesting. Would highly recommend staying here, oh & did we mention the breakfasts, delicious 😋

Nothing not to like. Remember you are staying in a historical period house so just don’t expect fridges or kettles in your bedrooms, it would so spoil the setting

Great location to explore historical Vicksburg

Breakfast was wonderful and facilities made me feel quite rich. Loved that the owners took time to tell us about the history of the house and saw my first two story outhouse.

Breakfast was very good.

The room was comfortable but there could have been a night table on both sides of the bed to be able to set down water, cell phone, etc. The bathroom was disappointing. Dirty baseboards, chipped grout on the floor tiles, peeling paint on the walls. Expected better than that.

Very comfortable and accommodating

This was my 3rd stay at Baer House as it’s a perfect halfway point between Houston and Atlanta. I have found each stay very comfortable and inviting. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. My partner and I are vegetarian and I feel she went out of her way to make sure to accommodate. I will continue to make this my “in between” stop for my journeys!

Perfect location, beautiful home, great breakfast, owners very accommodating, good library

Lots of room to wander including a library stocked with local history. Large dining room made very nice atmosphere to meet people. Felt very comfortable there.

The home was beautiful and our room and the bathroom very clean and inviting. Breakfast was excellent, and it was enjoyable to visit with other guests during the meal. We especially enjoyed hearing about the house.

We would prefer a more firm mattress.

The Baer house was a beautifully restored mansion. The owners, Patricia and Cory were extremely nice. Patricia had the history of the house down Pat. Cory is transported from the San Francisco Bay Area. My friend and I are also from California and could have talked to Cory all day about Bay Area Sports. But whether you are a sports fan or not you couldn’t find a friendlier couple. We felt like family. By the way Patricia’s breakfast was to die for 😄👍😍 Oh by the way, there are 22 stairs to the 2nd floor but we survived 🤩
