Room was clean and huge. Staff were excellent and extremely polite.
Would recommend 10/10 just for the staff!!!

The location of the accommodation was excellent. 10 mins walk to plenty of restaurants, bars and little boutique shops. Also close to the tourist information centre where we took a tour bus.
Our accommodation (cave) was huge, with a comfy bed, good shower and large fluffy towels. Very quirky place to stay and would highly recommend a weekend break at Giardini di Pietra in Matera.
No choice of breakfast. Would have preferred a choice of sweet or savoury continental breakfast in a buffet style but that's just my personal preference. We had the same on both days.

The accommodation in the heart of historic Matera was stunning! The hostess was incredibly loving, helpful and charming. Breakfast in a historic room felt like being in a museum. The view over the historic city was indescribably beautiful Highly recommended!

It’s in the centre of Matera. Staff were kind and helpful. The room was a gorgeous large space with a nice bathroom, good water pressure, comfortable bed and adequate wifi.
Breakfast was served, not buffet. It was mostly breads and a yogurt. It was generous but limited. The espresso was good.

The room was basic, but spacious, clean and with a magnificent view.
Everything was perfect. The air conditioner is a bit noisy.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful building , with the best view Matera has to offer. Very close to the Duomo, the staff came to help with luggage as you need to go down a few stairs and finding the place for the first time is kind of confusing but once you see its good. Great breakfast room - in the cave, nice detail . Interesting and different place to stay in. Or rooms were up some steep stairs, that the price you pay for that view , but once again the staff helped with our luggage so all was good. Easy parking downtown and after that the shuttle takes you to the Duomo square where the receptionists were kind to wait for us. Absolutely helpful staff , helped with sightseeing reservations, dinner, anything we might have needed
All was perfect

The location is excellent as It is just below Cattedrale di Maria Santissima della Bruna e Sant'Eustachio. It means you can see where you are staying in everywhere.
House was very clean comfortable. I choosed the room with balcony in rooftop that view was amazing. That reminded me the movie ' Room with view'. The host can speak english fluently and gave us good information for tour. and very kind too.
Parking is so easy, you can park your car in Parcheggio Nicoletti Michele for 24 hours.

Loved the location and our executive cave suite. A wonderful experience. The breakfast was delightful and plentiful and the owner's mother was kind and very helpful. Close to all in the Sassi. There is no parking in the Sassi but we were provided with excellent directions for parking. Wish we could have had longer in Matera and would love to return .
PS The newer part of town is good too and provides a nice contrast

Amazing location and view
The hotel is only accessible by foot from the square. It’s not a huge distance but if you’re travelling at late or early hours and you can’t access help carrying your bags, it’s a bit of a struggle. So pack light!

We had some troubles finding the place as we got lost in Matera Sassi. We called them to ask for more precise instructions on how to get there, and the girl and boy at the reception came to "rescue' us right away. We appreciated it very much!

excellent location and hosts. very good value
4.0 / 10.0
- ideal location
- the explanations about the history of the place
- we had to wait 40 minutes before check in
- the two dehumidifiers near the bed are noisy and rang during the night because the water tanks got full
- the natural humidity of the place did not feel pleasant over night (breathing felt uncomfortable, clothes got wet)
- no natural light (unless curtain open but then no privacy)
- I did not like the breakfast, appart from the fruits that were very good

We had the room with the terrace, which probably has the best view in Matera.

We had a room with wonderful views from terrace. Room was large with high ceilings. Comfortable bed. Bathroom was well appointed with very nice rain shower. Steps, no elevator but hotel sraff graciously helped us with our luggage to and from room.
Hotel is located near main Cathedral. Restaurants in walking distance. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. Steep with uneven walking lanes. Fascinating city. Easy to see area on a Tuk tuk, worth the $40 for 50 minutes. Good overview of both sides of sassi.
My only suggestion would be add fresh juice and fruit to breakfast. Brioche and coffee was tasty. Local sweets were a nice addition.
Parking is at a premium.. If you drive make sure you communicate with hotel on where to park.

Everything especially the staff and in particular the 2 girls at the reception
View is breathtaking and room is big and clean. V
Breakfast was nice
Just one thing and was not directly their fault but they should chose their business partners more carrfully.
We asked the reception for a tour in tuk tuk and the service was very very bad. The tour was supposed to last for 45 mis and the first good 10 15 mins went into refilling the ape. Then he started the tour nor explains where we were going and we were carried ti a guy that payd an Instrumet and wanted to get paid. Totally unacceptable. The guy spent most of the time in the phone and driving which is also illegal and then we were carried back to the duomo after 40 mins.
I gave 10 to the hotel the service and the staff. They should just make sure to give business to people that are more professional
