Matera un soggiorno eccezionale

La posizione e la vista dalla struttura immersa nel sasso Barisano sono impagabili. Lo staff gentilissimo e disponibile. La camera molto bella e confortevole, abbiamo dormito benissimo. La colazione ricchissima, con prodotti locali è eccezionale! La struttura dispone di una terrazza condivisa dove si può stare a leggere un libro in relax magari ordinando un aperitivo alla struttura. Matera è un posto incantevole pieno di storia unico al mondo. Torneremo di sicuro e la mia prima scelta sarà "Tra i sassi residence". In più a due passi dalla struttura ci sono dei ristoranti di cucina Lucana buonissimi, grazie a Rosita per averceli consigliati. Un soggiorno eccezionale!

Res so vsi prijazni, ko smo čakali na naš prevoz do garaže so nam celo ponudili brexplačno kavo in sok za hčerko.

Zelo lepe sobe in zelo zelo prijazni zaposleni. Zajtrk je bil fantastičen, sploh ker je bila vsa hrana domača. Razgled iz tease je bil res fascinanten na prelepo Matero

Außergewöhnlich!

Das Hotel hat einen unglaublichen eleganten Design, sehr an den Höhlen passend, alles mit hochwertigen Materiellen wie z.B. die Heizung war aus Kupferrohren gemacht.

Wonderful, efficient and very friendly staff. Beautiful location in the Sassi, close to everything. A wonderful breakfast spread was included.

Our room near the road was noisy. I think all the other rooms higher up and slightly further from road are quiet. If it were not for that I would give this accomodation a 10!

Good location. Great breakfast and rooms were quite spacious.

In our room which was at the top level, the doorway into the bathroom was really low, so we had to duck all the time and hit our heads.Haha. We did get used to it...

Superb

Lovely spacious cool room. Huge shower and bath. Location was perfect and once we figured out the parking protocol we were really looked after. Breakfast was plentiful and the coffee is delicious.

The room was spacious and very clean. They had bunks for the kids as well as an additional cot. A great balcony to enjoy evening drink with view. Good morning breakfast included

Magnificent Matera

From arrival to departure Saverino and Rosalina took care of all our needs with a smile. Thank you both from our hearts. We were even upgraded on arrival much to our surprise. Fra Sassi is a delight, clean, cool, romantic and everything you can need. Location views exceed the photos.that brought us here..the breakfast was fresh daily and plentiful. We didn't want to leave! Matera is a spotlessly clean city. Can't recommend it highly enough 11 out of 10!

Nothing...but you need strong legs for all the climbing of this ancient city ! The heat makes it a challenge and there is ALOT to see

Amazing, would stay again, the larger rooms are value for money

Loved this place, location was perfect, beautiful room with free standing bath, soft lighting and a wonderful terrace to relax just outside the room door. Reasonably priced mini bar and staff were super accommodating when late to breakfast and checking out!

A terrific overall experience, in Matera

The room was beautiful, with as great a view of the Sassi as you could ask for, from our terrace. Breakfast was also terrific. One evening, a small concert took place on the terrace just outside our room. What a bonus!

A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful city.

The room was very nice-cool, clean, quiet and very comfortable.(in a cave) Breakfast each morning was lovely-with really pleasant staff and a large selection of food to choose from.All local and very tasty. The staff were lovely-very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. One evening we had "aperitivo" on the terrace-would recommend this. Drinks were really nicely presented and the array of snacks could have been a meal in itself!! And not at all expensive.

great views with a hike

spacious room, good breakfast, great location and views of the city, helpful staff

we got the topmost room which was a bit of hike, there was no balcony though the room description said so, there was no heads up about how difficult the walk from parking lot to hotel would be , we got very lucky to run into the receptionist on our way as we were struggling with our luggage and te helped us, we would be lost otherwise as it’s up and down a lot. we ended up taking the transfer service on the way back.

Unique and beautiful. Very comfortable. Delicious breakfast and the most wonderful, caring staff. I was very under the weather both days we were there and I was checked on several times by the staff to inquire into my health. They even offered to go to the pharmacy for me if necessary. I’d love to return some day and spend more time in Matera.❤️❤️❤️

Great location and value for your money.

This is 2 hotels (Fra i Sassi and ai Terrazzini) together. Beautiful location with views of Matera from the majority of the room's terraces / balconies. Big rooms, comfy beds. Only charged me 25 euro for my dog to rest in the room with me. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great continental breakfast. Short walk into the main piazza of the town for tourist things to see and to obtain lunch and dinner; however, note a lot of the walking is over uneven paving stones in roads or on steps. Plan your footwear accordingly.

The hotel's location in the ZTL means you had to figure out how to get from the train station or parking lot to the hotel. (The hotel's recommended parking location can coordinate a ride (10 euro charge) to the hotel.) Plan for walking with bags over uneven ground to the hotel.

Very good apartment for one night stay. Excellent location

I like the comfort of the bed in the central room and the linen provided. The towels are very clean. The breakfast is also good. Excellent location.

The apartment would gain in value if there is a 3-place sofa. The bathroom requires some fixing. Some wooden furniture would need to be changed

Wonderful holiday. Matera is beautiful in winter and summer! Fra i Sassi residence made our holiday perfect! The position very central but extremely calm. The view from the window and the terrace is stunning. The staff very helpful and polite and the breakfast very good with local food and with many choices. The room very large and with the typical style of Matera houses in stone. We will come back soon!

Hotel with great views

Beautiful view from the room and terrace. Room is spacious and we enjoyed the cave experience.

We were given the incorrect room upon arrival and had to ask the reception for a change. After some confusion, and perhaps language barrier, the room was changed the next morning. However, the bed in the new room, deluxe suite, was rock hard and uncomfortable. The room was also outside the private hotel site I.e accessible by public, meaning we had people stopping outside our hotel room through the afternoon and evening for photos.

Domenico and Joe went above and beyond to help us. Suggested places to see and made arrangements for us. Breakfast was exceptional.. The view from the hotel was breathtaking.

We loved Matera for its serene and beautiful setting.

Excellent location…Quite and peaceful. It was very easy to get to all parts of the town. We had the best room with great views. Breakfast was very good with lot to choose from.
