Overall our stay was superb, Mark the host couldn't do enough for you, the house was in excellent condition, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms, the views are spectacular! Great location, within walking distance of all amenities, we would highly recommend this property. Maybe a couple of points, pool not cleaned regularly and be aware of electric gates as they closed back on one of our vehicles damaging the door....... oh and take plenty of mozzie spray you will need it.

We had the most wonderful holiday in this beautiful house. The pool, the garden, the house everything was so perfect and Mark is a great host. We will definitely recommend this house.

Perfect Provence experience
This is the perfect place for a quintessential Provence experience. Perfectly situated for day trips to the beaches of Côte d'Azur or the incredible mountains of Les Gorges du Verdon. If you want to have a quiet day, the property is beautiful and spacious with a gorgeous view and the interior has lots of space ( and bathrooms). The pool table, ping pong and fooseball table provide added things to do (not to mention the pool although it was closed for the winter). Marc was very responsive, and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, especially for a large group (7).

Lovely house in lovely Lorgues
We enjoyed our stay at Mas Babaou very much. The house and its surroundings has a very good atmosphere. The Interior and house hold stuff however are a bit out dated. This did not bother us too much. We would surely recommend this property for family holidays.

A wonderfully relaxing holiday in a perfect location
We had the most wonderful stay! The house is a home from home with everything we needed for a great family holiday. As others have said, we spent most of our 2 weeks lying by the pool and eating on the veranda or in the outside dining area at the back of the house. I’ve never stayed somewhere with more entertainment for the kids and adults alike. The pool table, table football, darts, pétanque and ping pong really added to our enjoyment. I’m not sure how Mark manages to be there when you need him but never impose on your privacy and allows you to feel completely free to make yourself entirely at home. He has a relaxed and friendly manner which makes you feel very welcome and able to fully switch off from the pressures of normal life. Lorgues is a lovely old town and we managed to walk to and from town even in extremely hot conditions! The house is well equipped with fans in every room so we didn’t miss aircon. The pool is really nice and deep at the deep end which meant my kids could practise their diving. Everything was clean, well maintained and well equipped . I’d really love to come back one day. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time with our family with a small child (2 y.o.).
Everything is great. The environment, the house, the pool, the games you can play, the small village.
Everything we needed for a perfect vacation with 8 people.
Close by other bigger villages so easy to do day trips if you want.
The owner Mark was very kind and helpfull and didn't mind our late night laughter.
Would recommend 10/10.

A Wonderful Time in Lorgues!!
Our stay in Lorgues was wonderful. The house was beautiful and very comfortable for the 7 of us. We received fantastic support from Mark. He was a great communicator. He made great suggestions on places to visit. He made us all feel very welcomed.
The house is a ten minute walk from town. We sometimes drove into town but we mostly walked. We enjoyed the amenities at the house as well. The pool table, the fossball game, the very comfortable swimming pool and the easy to use washer and dryer. We also spent a lot of time using the front deck with its beautiful views as we sipped our Rose wine
I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to rent this fine property. Our time spent there was magical. I hope in the future we have a chance to return.

Amazing home away from home in Lorgues
We returned to Mas Babaou for a second time because it's an amazing home away from home.
Situated just above the town of Lorgues, this four-bedroom, four-bath house is a short walk or even shorter drive up the hill from Lorgues and down the hill from celebrated winery Château de Berne. The Tuesday market in Lorgues is a can't-miss activity, and the coast, the Gorges du Verdon, and the hill towns of Provence are all easy day trips.
The house features four spacious bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a beautiful front porch overlooking the valley, an outdoor grill, and a large table in back for al fresco dining. And then there's the great pool, perfect for the kids or for adults lounging with a local rosé.
Communications with Mark were easy, and he responded to our inquiries quickly.
This was our second stay at Mas Babaou, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Nice villa; breathtaking view; nice owner.
We had a pleasant stay. However, this property is extremely difficult to locate and could be made much easier to find by installing lighting at the entrance to the driveway and making the address much larger, clearer, and easier to see. Anyone arriving at night will literally not be able to find it on their own even with a GPS or other navigation system.

Lovely little castle, welcoming and warm host, amazing view
Our family of 7 had the most amazing time at this mini castle. The host provides everything you could possibly need and maintains the property impeccably.
The central location is great for day trips to amazing places like Arles, Gorge Verdon and the coast like Nice and Marseille.
The pool was sparkling clean and perfect for days spent just enjoying the house and the lovely town of Lorgues.
We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for everything Mark.

Amazing vacation home in Lorgues
Mas Babaou exceeded every expectation. The house and property are as described, only better. The Mas itself is lovely, and beautifully situated overlooking the valley and the Massif des Maures in the distance. The outdoor spaces go above and beyond: we spent practically the entire stay on the front porch with its vistas, enjoying the constantly changing light. Morning coffee and evening dinner were perfect at the long dining table on the back terrace, with afternoons spent playing cards and drinking chilled local rosés by the pool.
Proximity to Lorgues is great - maybe ten minutes walking down the hill to the town center. The Tuesday market is a must. There are numerous vineyards very nearby (the Chateau de Berne just at the end of the road) and lovely day trips in every direction.
Mark's warm welcome, advice, help, and genuine neighborliness made this the perfect place to spend two weeks in Provence.

A great find for all ages
This was a great find. we have stayed in lots of rental accommodation before, but this one was exceptional- extremely spacious both inside and outside and unbelievably peaceful, even though it was just a short walk into Lorgues. We were in a group whose ages ranged from 84 to 11- potentially problematic- but between the pool, two terraces, table tennis, pool table, mountain bikes and excellent nearby tennis courts, we had the perfect holiday.
We had never stayed inland before, but given the easy accessibility of the French Riviera (where we rented catamarans) and the river at Roquebrune (canoes, stand-up, pedalos etc ) we found that a week wasn't nearly long enough!

A beautiful house in truly tranquil location
Glancing through other peoples reviews, I’m not sure what I can add. This is a truly lovely house, with high quality furniture and fittings, a well equipped kitchen ample sized bedrooms, virtually brand new, beautifully detailed bathrooms and a large high ceilinged living room with a gallery. This is primarily a family house and as a guest you benefit from the owner's good taste, style, attention to detail and all those small things that make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Mark lives in a studio cottage next door, clearly loves the house and keeps it in immaculate condition – everything is clean, tidy and well maintained.
The house is built in a large wooded garden and is totally secluded, though only a few minutes from the Lorgues – we hardly heard a car or other people, just the constant chorus of cicada’s. There is a garden kitchen, several terraces with tables and chairs – we spent most of our time drinking local Rosé on the terrace off the living room with fabulous views over the valley below and distant hills beyond.
It is an ideal spot for a family or group of friends, with snooker table, table tennis, table soccer and, of course, the swimming pool. Set in the garden slightly down from the house it a perfect sunny spot to spend the day, relax and get down to some serious holiday reading. There are an abundance of loungers and whether you choose full sun or hide under the umbrellas you can chill-out in the crystal clear pool.
Logues is a small French provincial village, with weekly markets and an abundance of places to eat (though we ate in most nights we did have a lovely evening meal at Chris Sandier, a restaurant in the main Boulevard). The town is conveniently situated - a hour from the spectacular Gorges du Verdon and Lac de Sante-Croix and about the same distance from St Tropez. So there are many places to see and things to do.
All in all this is a perfect spot and a great find. We would definite like to go back to enjoy, relax and explore. Thank you Mark for having us, we loved being there.

A provence house at its best
A very nice house located within the vineyards of the Provence with picturesque Lorgues at walking distance. The house itself is very clean and convenient.
Big plus for us (two families with grown up kids) were the 4 nice bathrooms. The view from the front terrace is magnificent. The pool is fine and there are sufficient lounge beds. The kitchen has all comforts you need. All in all a very good experience.

A beautiful house in a beautiful spot
I can highly recommend both the house, Lorgues and the surroundings. The house was ideal for us. We spent every other day at the lovely pool and took trips to St. Tropes, St. Maxime and other small beautiful villages. We can recommend a trip up in the mountains too..to see the lovely lavender fields and the spectacular French Canyon. Incredible! Mark ( the house owner ) gave us many good recommendations what to see and where to drive. We will never forget the holiday in this lovely house..which even has a tame fox who visited us to get something to eat ;-) I can recommend everybody.. both adults and couples with children, a stay in Marks ( a very nice man by the way ) house. We do not regret it !!!

Even better than expected!
The House: Very spacious and clean. We had a party of 11 (6 adults, 5 children <10 yo) 4 bedrooms and I believe 4.5 baths. Only one room didn't have an ensuite, but the bathroom is directly across the hall. Well appointed, with Sat TV and WiFi, the only caveat is that there is NO AC (which is typical). Mark is a carpenter by trade and has recently refurbished the house - and you can tell. The views from the upper bedrooms, front porch and tower are great.
The Grounds: I just didn't expect the kind of space or level of manicure - it is very well kept! The grounds are gated, private and secluded (note that Mark does live on site in an adjacent apartment, but he was lovely and not intrusive at in the least). There is a large semi-wooded area where kids can play out back. The outdoor kitchen area is fantastic and clean, complete with outdoor foosball table.
The Pool: Possibly the best part - the pool area! We found the pool very clean and the area just perfect. The pool has an 8ft area suitable for diving (did not expect this) and of course a shallow end. The pool grounds are walled, with a pool hut, tables, chairs and lounge chairs. Couldn't have asked for more.
Pool Security: For all the concerned parents... The pool is 100% gated but does not lock - certainly easily secured against toddlers wandering in though. There is also a pool alarm. Also, note: the pool is not right up against the house, but across the drive and down a small winding gravel path.
Mark: The host does live on site, speaks English, and is extremely helpful when needed.
Lorgues: Very short walk into town (10 min). Very small, but well situated to reach the beautiful Gorge (less than 1 hour). There are countless Chateaus nearby for natural beauty and wine-tasting. The closest is also one of the nicest: Chateau Du Berne, which is 2km from the house and absolutely worth a visit. For the kids (and adults) , there's a top notch Ropes Course on the way out of town (read: 10 min away) which we visited twice - L'Arnaude Adventures - Definitely worth it.
The Tuesday market was madness. huge - the biggest in the area. Worth a trip - we didn't find it to be of great value overall, but everything we bought (cheese, meats, produce). Lots of choice for restaurants as well.
Overall: Definitely recommend. It's a beautiful spot, well appointed and clean.

Great holiday in Lorgues
The house is located in a quiet area of Lorgues and has wonderful views over the countryside. There are plenty of shady spots to enjoy a glass either by the house or down at the pool area. Well maintained property with adequate space for at least three couples, or two couples and one family since there is a good size downstairs flat. Would recommend the property to anyone looking for a relaxing week in a typical Provencal atmosphere.

A lovely house in an ideal location.
The house was ideal for three couples and two adult children. We appreciated the double height living room (good acoustic for madrigals), the generous number of bathrooms (no queueing), and the choice of outdoor games (petanque, ping-pong, and table football). The swimming pool was lovely in the hot weather and the pool table in the tower was good fun after it got too dark to sit outside. There is an extensive view from the front terrace - it really feels as if you are in the country, yet it is only a 15 minute stroll into Lorgues, a delightful town with houses built into the old ramparts and narrow streets contrasting with the busier town centre with its pavement cafes and huge Tuesday market. We enjoyed nearby Villecroses with its boulodrome and lovely municipal park with a waterfall and cave dwellings. A walk near the busy honeypot village of Tourtours was scenic, delightful and deserted. The Gorges du Verdon are well worth the 55 minute drive and the 'route des Cretes' loop has some fantastic viewpoints. Walking down into the gorge from Pointe Sublime to the Pont de Tusset gave us a chance to dip our feet in the turquoise waters and enjoy the evening light without killing ourselves walking the whole gorge on a very hot day. The Vasarely Foundation art museum in Aix was a fascinating and very immersive op art experience and good for those (like my son) who get bored in art galleries. On a second trip to the Gorges for canoeing, we found Moustiers so busy it was impossible to park so we gave up and had a very scenic drive looking down on the north side of Lac de Ste. Croix where we passed some of the legendary Provencal lavender fields. Mark, the owner, was very helpful and informative, managing to be available but never intrusive. Living next door he was able to fix any minor problem immediately without the hassle of making phone calls and waiting in for someone. Altogether, a lovely holiday and a great plus being able to walk to local shops and restaurants while still enjoying the benefits of a peaceful location.

Vielen Dank, Mark.

A wonderful family holiday
We spent two weeks at Mas Babaou in August 2013. We were two families, eight people in total.
The villa is fabulous and set in lovely mature gardens. All rooms are well furnished and there is plenty of accommodation for two families. The location is secluded enough if you want a peaceful stay, but is within walking distance (15 minutes) of Lorgues, which is a very beautiful town and has one of the largest street markets in the area - not to be missed.
The views from the villa are stunning and there are plenty of outdoor dining options whether that's next to the pool, front or back of the villa or in the garden kitchen. The owner, Mark, was around to answer any questions we had and provided lots of good advice and recommendations on local restaurants.
So, in summary, a fabulous house, location and swimming pool - all you could ask for. We thoroughly enjoyed the break and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Thanks to Mas Babaou and Mark, and hope to see you again:
Family Sanders, Berry, Gallichet.

Exceeded expectations!
The property exceeded all our expectations. The house itself is very large and lovely, beautifully decorated and very up to date. It's rare to see every bedroom have an en suite bathroom and two with large bathtubs. We stayed with our four daughters (ages 12-15) and we didn't even use one bedroom! The kitchen is well equipped and we had wonderful dinners on both terraces. The pool is lovely and clean and we spent much time in and around it.
The location of the house offers much to explore within short drives and the walk to the town isn't long. Lorgues is a lovely place to explore on its own.
Mark our host was most helpful and gracious, providing whatever we needed and checking in to see how we were.
I can guarantee that we will return!
