About this apartment rental
In an enchanting location overlooking one of the prettiest canals in all of Venice, a bright and classic two bedroom apartment situated in a tranquil position right next door to the Convent of the Eremite and opposite one of the most historic and well-known restaurants in the city, ‘Locanda Montin’.
Ca’ Canaletto on the Rio Delle Romite (sometimes known as ‘Rio Dell’ Eremite’ or ‘Canal of the Hermits’ in English) offers air-conditioning and plenty of flexible living space with tasteful, well furnished living and dining areas overlooking the canal, a fully fitted kitchen and a second living area with a double sofa bed. It has a large double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with bathtub and a separate shower, a second bedroom with twin beds (which can be made unto a double - simply ask when booking) and another bathroom with shower. The two bedrooms are quiet, comfortable and highly appealing and overlook the neighbouring gardens.
Peaceful, though certainly not isolated, the apartment is but a minute’s walk from the gentle activities of a thriving neighbourhood - take a short stroll down the alleyway opposite, with its little illuminated shrine and enticing air of secrecy, before suddenly arriving onto the Fondamenta Toletta, a charming street of bookshops, bar, gelataria, ATM and the canalside tables of the small, but highly popular, ‘Enoteca Ai Artisti’.
Also within a minute of the fine restaurants of Calle Lunga San Barnaba which leads directly to the delightful Campo San Barnaba and then onto the Ca’ Rezzonico vaporetto stop and the highly impressive Ca’ Rezzonico Museum of 18th Century Art, with its commemorative plaque to the poet Robert Browning, directly shouldering the Grand Canal.
Are you part of a larger group who would like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer another apartment in this building: Ca' Dell'Artista.

It was my husband, myself and our two 17 year old daughters. The apartment was just as the photos shown. Plenty of room to spread out with two living areas. Views of a smaller canal with gondolas going by. Easy walk from the water bus, the Basillica, Doge’s Palace and St Marks water bus stop to get to Lido beach, Murano, Burano and Torcello Islands. Upon arrival they had coffee pods for the Nespresso machine and ground coffee for the authentic Moka Pot. They also had a loaf of bread, honey, jam and some bottled water in the fridge.
The washer worked great and they supplied two drying racks, an iron and ironing board, hair dryers were also supplies with adorable shampoo, body wash and soaps.
I would highly recommend this apartment for families staying in Venice.
We very much enjoyed our stay in the apartment!

It was really good and well kept apartment. Kitchen has been recently updated and was well stocked with utensils. Having Laundry and dishwasher was great.

Views on Venice was a delightful stay. The best part was the woman who greeted us after we got off the water taxi. She had already marked places for us to visit and coffee/eating places on a map. Place was fantastic and very secure. AC worked however one of the remotes had dead batteries. But worked fine once that was fixed. Great quiet location in a lovely neighborhood. Logan da Martin across the street was excellent.

I have stayed in this apartment several times and the newly renovated kichen is better equipped than my home kichen. The aircondtioning is soundless and functions superbly. On 92 degree days only needed to run 2 units for 20 minutes to cool the entire apt. Very clean.
The utensil draw containing forks and knives is hard to open. Bowls should be stored separate from flat plates as had to lift stack of heavy bowls to get a plate. I'm short and weak and could not reach all shelves.

My wife and I were joined by a couple of friends for 3 nights in Venice and the 2 bedroom apartment offered us a great off-the-beaten-track location in a quieter part of town. Dorsoduro is about 15 minute walk from train station/Piazzale Roma and offers plenty of nearby restaurants and chiccetti bars. Campo Santa Margherita is a great spot to grab a drink after dinner. Check in process was smooth as we coordinated with Enrica and Rossana. They even helped arrange an early morning water taxi for our 2 friends who had to catch a train.
Would definitely stay again and would recommend this apartment or other spots in Dorsoduro as a good spot to stay. Venice is a bit of a maze to walk around and it took about 20-25 mins to get to San Marco square but it was worth the hike to be away from the crazy summertime crowds around San Marco and San Polo. There is a nearby water bus stop about 2 mins from apartment, Zattere, that we opted to use to take a water trip up the Grand Canal for way cheaper than renting a private water taxi. You can also take the Alilaguna water shuttle to/from the airport to Zattere which takes about 90 mins. We opted to take the ATVO bus to Piazzale Roma because it was quicker, but if we had more time I would have considered the water shuttle at least 1 way to check out the lagoon.
Only slight negative was the power went out a couple of times but Enrica was quick to respond with how to locate the main breakers and reset them.

The apartment is very spacious. The neighborhood is quiet, which made it great for sleeping. Location is convenient to the sights. Kitchen is decently stocked, worked well for cooking simple breakfasts (had salt and pepper). Views on Venice team is very responsive and helpful.
Would be nice to have some coffee pods or coffee provided as the kitchen has several gadgets to make coffee.

We love the location and have been back many times. It feels like home to us. VoV staff are very helpful and accommodating and took care of all our requests. We particularly loved the cooking lesson just downstairs, arranged through VoV. Several nice places to sit and read or talk.
The refrigerator is a little precarious. A bottle of wine fell from the door rack and broke when we opened it. Not enough pots. We bought and left a small container to heat milk, and a small pot to boil an egg. A bread knife would be nice.

but close enough to restaurants etc. Comfy beds. Great attentive support from Views On Venice team - really appreciated.

Kitchen was well out-fitted. (1 drawer broken). Apt was larger than we needed - used the entry area as living room and did not use dining room / living room at all. Bedrooms were good sized. Need towel hooks in bathrrooms. Also shower in bathroom off entry area smelled of mildew. Pretty clean but a bit worn / dated.

What a wonderful apartment in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment is clean and well kept. Grocery and restaurants are within a 5-7 minute walking distance. Kitchen had everything we needed, including a clothes washer. It was nice to freshen up our clothes. Great communication with property managers, overall 5 stars. Would definitely stay here again.

We love the location on a quiet canal, with windows looking out on it. First floor, so not too many steps to climb, but also not on ground floor in case of acqua alta. Very clean, very well maintained. This is our 3rd time staying in this apartment, each several years apart. It feels like home to us in Venice. Very close to San Barnaba, also convenient to Zattere, Santa Margarita, Accademia. Dorsoduro is our favorite part of the city. Service is excellent, very responsive and helpful. We appreciated the water taxi just around the corner.

The property was super roomy for our family of 4. Exceeded our expectations! Wonderful washing machine and plenty of drying racks and space to set them up. Really nice local neighborhood away from the crowds of tourists but a short walk to plenty of restaurants and easy to get to ALL the sights! We were met at the vaporetto station and guided to apartment. The restaurant recommendations we spot on too! I highly recommend this property and the Managment company. Thanks!!

We greatly enjoyed our 10 day stay at the apartment. The Views on Venice team was so helpful with communications, arranging pick up and departure with a water taxi, storing our luggage for later departure, and always available to help with our small problems (e.g. no working coffee maker, tv not connected). The apartment is spacious, clean, excellent air circulation and views, QUIET, comfy beds, renovated kitchen and bath, perfect location (we have been in 'Venice several times and this is the best place to stay). However---the apartment isn't quite as 'elegant' as the pictures show (in case that matters to you) The entry room is rather gloomy, the coffee table very rickety, and after a night of rain water flowed into the dining area from the baseboard which we had to block with a towel to keep it from going into the living room. We then noticed that the terrazzo floors were cracked and in fact disintegrating under the dining table. We alerted the agency about the problem. All this being said we would stay here again because of the location, the overall cleanliness, spaciousness, and serenity of the property, and the great VOV team!

The property was in a great location and we were met by a representative who walked us to the property, and made us feel very welcome and gave us a good intro to Venice and some advice about travel.
It was comfortable and easy to get to.

My family had a great time during our vacation in Venice. The apartment was exactly as described. It was clean and comfortable with canal views. It is located on a quiet canal, within walking distance of many small restaurants and also pastry shops where you can get a coffee and a small bite for breakfast. Location is perfect for exploring and gives you the feeling of being a local. Bathrooms functioned well (1 shower is small, but we are all 6' tall. We did not use the kitchen but everything seemed to be in order there.)
Communications were great with everyone after we booked. Directions were accurate, and they responded quickly to all of our inquiries. They even booked us a water taxi from the train station to a spot very close to the apartment where their representative met us and walked us to the apartment. There is an informative guide book they have put together to help find restaurants and all the tourist sights.
My family and I highly recommend this apartment and the Views on Venice company in general. We will definitely re-book on our next visit to this great city.

Late Spring Break in Dorsoduro
A super stay in a well appointed apartment. Views on Venice who rented the property were extremely professional and courteous and Marta who met us and showed us around made the start to our holiday very relaxed.
The apartment is in an excellent location and other than a light gathering below on the Friday it was a very pleasant stay. Lots to see, and so many places to eat and drink. We love this area and the fact that we were away from the more busier parts of the City.
I would hesitate to return nor maybe use VOV again and stay at another of their properties which maybe had more direct access to outside space.
An excellent stay.

Great apartment in great location
We really enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was very clean and on a quiet street, yet close to everything. We were impressed by the size of the space - plenty of room for all of us to spread out. Our host was very helpful with suggestions of restaurants, bakeries, areas of interest, and the company helped us to book water taxis to take us to and from the airport. It was a wonderful experience and Venice is a magical city! We would totally stay there again.

Quiet dorsudoro
Very spacious, clean, all the amenities we needed, washing machine and lots of space to spread out, the Wi-Fi was good everywhere… And the neighborhood was just perfect, away from the crowds but a short walk to everything!

Spacious apartment in beautiful, quiet but convenient location
Ca' Canaletto suited our needs perfectly. Spacious and airy, with comfortable beds and good A/C, well-appointed kitchen (that we barely used, it was too much fun to go out), in a lovely location that was close to lots of cute cafes and bars, and about a 20-minute walk to San Marco plaza.. But the immediate neighborhood was SO quiet at night; we slept very well. The folks at Views on Venice arranged for a private water taxi to pick us up at the airport (a bit of communication mix-up occurred regarding our taxi, but it was easily fixed) and to take us back when we left, and although this was expensive, it was also very scenic, enjoyable, and extremely convenient; I'd highly recommend it. Venice is amazing; we will return, and would be very happy to stay in Ca' Canaletto again.

A wonderful stay!
A beautiful apartment in a quiet location, but close to many of the places we like to visit. Hope to come back soon, and thanks to you all for arranging our stay.
We couldn’t make the Nespresso machine work - though this might have been our stupidity …

Everything Perfect
From the time I made the reservation for this property, I knew it was the right choice. There's no substitute for professional management of a short term rental. Every detail was arranged, from the private water taxi to take us to the apartment, to the assistance that I received when my luggage missed the connecting flight, Views on Venice is top notch.
The apartment itself was in a great location, close enough to the city center, but quiet and peaceful (even on New Year's Eve, where all we heard were a few shouts at midnight). Many restaurants nearby if you didn't want to go far, and a 5 minute walk to the grocery.
I would definitely stay at this property again, or if it's not available, another property managed by Views on Venice.

Ca'Canaletto Canal View -
the convenient and attractive location next to a pretty canal the helpful staff books and local information a generally well-equipped apartment.
This is the second time we have stayed in this building having spent a month in the upper apartment six years ago. We love the location, particularly how close it is to the vaporetto stop (number 1 and Alilaguna), San Barnaba (Oniga restaurant, Senor Blum and the wine bar) and the Zattere (for walks). The apartment was generally comfortable, warm in winter and spacious for four adults but would not have been big enough for six. The entrance hall had been improved greatly since our last stay. The Views on Venice staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with.
the double bed and pillows were rather hard mugs were either huge or tiny - medium size would be good in the winter rugs next to the bed would soften the shock of the cold, hard floor more pictures in the rather bleak hall.

An amazing stay in an amazing city!
We absolutely loved everything about our stay: the location in a quiet yet lively neighborhood of Venice, the kitchen is very well equipped, the warm welcome by Marta. The decoration of the apartment is very nice. Stay in Venice and live like Venetians... a dream!!!
The mattress in the master bedroom could be a little more comfortable, we found it a bit too firm.
It would be good if wooly covers could be replaced by duvets.
2 small leaks occurred in the flat which I mentioned to Marta.
We couldnt manage to make the TV work...

Fabulous apartment in a quiet neighborhood
This apartment was very well equipped, very comfortable and spacious. It was in a quiet neighborhood, about 15 min walking from Piazza San Marco. It was a relief to get away from the crowds and look over the small canal outside the windows. The rental agency was accommodating, and secured us a water taxi to the airport that picked us up just down the canal. They also have a concierge service for tours of any kind. I highly recommend this apartment!

Comfy Venice apartment in an amazing location.
Lovely apartment, great location and the check in and check out went seamless. They even had someone waiting at the airport to take us by boat to the apartment. When we checked out the boat was waiting for us.
The apartment is quite large with plenty of room to stretch out.

Great Apartment and Location
This place is exactly as advertised. Great quiet location, but close enough to the action to walk. Amazing restaurants within just a few blocks. Highly recommend this apartment for your trip to Venice. It will fit 4 people comfortably, even more if kids want to sleep on the two very comfortable sofas.

Very comfortable, great location
We love this place! We stayed here six years ago. It was great then and it has been upgraded since. Very clean, comfortable, well appointed. Very comfortable apartment for two couples. I like the quiet, convenient location near Campo San Barnaba. Love the cheese shop there, and also Già Schiavi wine bar a couple of blocks away, a favorite stop for a quick snack with the dozens of kinds of cicchetti. Vegetable boat at Campo San Barnaba, groceries in Santa Margarita, all very convenient. Excellent customer service, although we didn't need much. We had everything we needed right at the apartment.
