About this house rental
The house will sleep 6-10 people and can also include an independent, though linked, annex, with room for 4 more.
Cala Reona: One of the most exclusive and fascinating yet-to-be-developed sites on the Costa Cálida stretch of Spain’s Mediterranean coast (Murcia).
The House: Located right on the coast, just 50 yards from the curved golden beach of the Cala (cove), occupying a “midday” position that provides a 180º panoramic view of the sea, and allows for the splendours of both sunrise and sunset over the Mediterranean to be savoured. Some17 miles from the historical city of Cartagena, and right next door to the fishing village of Cabo de Palos, La Manga and the peaceful waters of the Mar Menor saltwater lagoon.
The property is flanked by a terrace, on the sea-side, almost touching the water, and an extensive patio/garden to landward. From the terrace, with its blue and white furnishings and awnings, you can watch the seemingly ceaseless to and fro of the merchantmen and cruise ships, plying the Mediterranean route. The patio includes a swimming pool and solarium, with pergola and is divided into two distinct environments, with a dining area and garden furniture under cover, surrounded by ornamental plants and fruit trees. The patio also includes a parking space for one vehicle, while in the fenced in exterior plot, measuring some 3,700m2, which is private property belonging to Casa Cala Reona, there is plenty of room to park as many as you wish.
The house itself has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and both a living/dining room and lounge area, with one double sofa-bed. There is also a separate dining room, which opens out onto the garden/patio on the landward side, while the living/dining room looks out over the terrace to the sea. From the sofas in both lounge and living/dining room there are uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, just a few yards away.
The Annex: The adjacent annex is a small studio flat in its own right, with two bedrooms, a master bedroom, with double bed, and a double bedroom (two single beds). There is also a fully fitted bathroom and a separate kitchen. The annex can be accessed either directly from the street or from the house, via the private patio/garden. There is a barbeque area and outdoor showers.
The House and its Annex: The ideal spot for holidays ALL YEAR ROUND, located just a stone’s throw from the village of Cabo de Palos, and benefitting from a particularly temperate microclimate in autumn and winter. This benign climate allows for enjoyment of the outdoor life at any time of year.
At Cala Reona (Reona Cove), right next to the house and its annex, you can practice a wide range of sporting activities, such as sailing, surfing, waterskiing and kite-surfing, among others. Cala Reona adjoins the Calblanque National Park, which means that hiking, cycling, mountain biking or horse riding is not only easy but can be taken advantage of to discover the National Park’s protected coastal and mountain scenery of exceptional interest. At the La Manga Golf Club (just over 4 miles away) you can enjoy three of Europe’s finest 18-hole courses.
Also, just over a mile from Cala Reona, you will find the Las Salinas de Marchamalo salt flats, which are also well worth a visit. One part of the flats, known as Las Salinas Viejas, is actually part of the Casa Cala Reona property. From September to May this protected area becomes an observatory for dozens of species of migrating birds, such as herons, cormorants, ducks or pink flamingos.
If you want to reach Cala Reona by car, after taking the exit from the Murcia-La Manga or Alicante-La Manga dual carriageways, it is less than half a mile down the only road, at the end of which you will find Casa Cala Reona.
The house is on a site that measures 600m2, of which the house itself occupies 150m2, with the rest being taken up by the terrace and the patio/garden. The annex occupies another 40m2. The surface areas of each of the parts of the house and its rooms are as indicated in the attached Plans.
Sleeping 6-10 people, the house consists of:

The property offers unforgettable experiences with stunning views, well-equipped amenities, and a location right by the sea. Ideal for relaxing holidays and family trips with nearby attractions.

The property is a really good size. The view from the balcony was fantastic. All appliances worked in the villa. The pool was a god send and while we were there it was serviced 2 I believe. The private drive way to the villa was not so private as most of the fence around the property had been damaged so people with their dogs could just walk through. The drive way entrance would sometimes get blocked by a parked car. This was annoying as we couldn't drive in or out of the property.

The location is fantastic, near the beach and walking areas, and remote enough to be away from busy streets, but near enough to walk to the supermarket. The view is stunning. The home offers all the important amenities, and great options for the TV should you find yourself bored of the view. The home is well appointed, however could do with a little modernisation. The home is advertised as with pool (and the only pool in the row of villas), however this was not open for use during our stay. It would be useful to know prior to booking what months the pool is open. Even in cold weather or cold water, it is nice to sit by the pool, and for the brave young kids to still want to play in the pool, irrespective of temperature.

Espectacular semana

Cabo De Palos Stay
So over all we had a great time at this Villa, things to be aware of:
a) Gas and Boiler etc are run from gas tanks your are expected to change yourself.
b) The small trip of land between sea and thus property is public and we had various people every day we where in Villa on this land so not as secluded as we expected.
Apart from this great Villa.

Lovely view but badly managed
This property has the most amazing views and we spent most of our time admiring it. As it was cool in the blazing heat, we ate all of our meals on this balcony.
However, the property itself is in need of work. We all received small electric shocks from a couple of lamps, we had drainage problems in one of the bathrooms so had to suffer the whole house been pumped of all sewerage for about 4 hours. The owners did kindly give us some cakes and a bottle of wine but it did spoil our day as the smell was horrendous.
On arrival, late on the Saturday night, the check in was very vague and the annex was not ready so we all slept in the main house. They finally made the beds in the annex the following day.
A week into our holiday we were asked at 7pm to strip all the beds and give them to the owners along with the towels. A stock take then proceded with lots of confusion and frankly accusing of taking towels! This was very offensive as I struggle to wonder why we would steal anything. We then had to make the beds ourselves. No cleaning was done by the owners during our 2 week stay. We cleaned it ourselves.
I also think that the swimming pool description is misleading in the details as it is no bigger than a plunge pool so not suitable for swimming. This didn't matter to us too much as it is next to the beach.
We did enjoy the holiday but only because of the views. For this amount of money, I would have expected more from the property and the management of it.

Totalmente recomendable.

Great location
The villa is a couple of minutes walk from Cala Reona, a beach popular with locals at the weekends. In high season the beach has paddle boats for hire and a beach bar with good food. The snorkelling is great and we took scuba lessons in the bay from scubamurcia. You can also walk into a national park from the beach. The shops are 10 minutes drive. You will need a car. The villa is clean, spacious and has everything you need. The Spanish owner lives next door and on hand to help with anything. He introduced us to a friend who speaks English and German. The whole place could do with a lick of paint but we didn’t really notice after the first day. There is no air con the bedrooms in the main building which was ok for us in June but might be warm in July and August. There is air con in the annexe. The owner asked for a cash deposit on arrival which was returned in full when we left. This villa is all about location. Dinners on the patio a few metres from the blue Med, with a mountain backdrop. Just stunning.
