The location. It’s very close to many coffee shops, restaurants and stores.
Staff is friendly .
Breakfast is very good.
Coffee and water in the room was very nice.
It takes a long time to get hot water in the shower. There is only one outlet for three electronic devices such us fridge, kettle and coffee maker.

This is a wonderful little hotel in Viana do Costelo. The owner is very friendly and helpful with suggestions for your visit, the location is excellent and the rooms are comfy and quiet.

Extremely nice little hotel with clean, spacious, lovely decorated room and great bathroom. Comfy beds, really great value for money. Location is particularly good, right in the centre of the city. Breakfast was very good, staff very helpful.
No negative experiences.
3.5 / 5.0
Great location, staff sympathy and room size.
Limited breakfast variety. The little options it had were good, but it should have more options.
Room blackout curtains weren't 100% effective, so if light wakes you up easily, it may be unpleasant.

Christiana was absolutely wonderful and welcomed us so nicely and gave us so much information about the town. She was so friendly and helpful during our entire stay
The restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful and on the 1st floor we could hear all the noise from the restaurant

Good location, 10min from the train station, down the road, in front of the sea. Nice reception front.
Bedrooms are not soundproofed from hotel noise and street noise. First floor room was noisy all day and night long. You get the noise of the kitchen and dinner underneath, in the morning, day time and night (setting up, service, cleaning), it gets loud and impossible to ignore the noise without closed-up headphones and music on. Every tiny bit of noise or door that opens into the corridor echoes through the bedrooms. Night time you get the noise of the streets and the bars and drunk people ('till at least 2am). Not even double-glazed windows. A door made out of paper. Just truly horrible experience. I was exhausted.
Bedroom is clean but comes with zero touches or amities. For 130€ a night I had wished at least for a small kettle to warm my own tea. Mattress is soft and no memory-foam (not comfy for hard sleepers). Bathroom is in need of some serious renovation. Shampoo was out. Decor is dated and bland. Would be fine if at least the room was quiet and soundproofed. - Overall, I wish I didn't come and stayed home. It was the last room available the weekend. It isn't worth it. I shared my comments to reception who didn't care.

We loved staying at this little boutique hotel in Viana do Castelo. Our room was on the third floor - yes, there is an elevator. Our room was like staying in a cozy little attic. We had french doors opening onto a small terrace with a small table and two chairs overlooking the Lima River. There is a small refrigerator in the room also. About a block away is a small supermarket where we purchased snacks and beverages to enjoy on the terrace in the afternoon. Viana do Castelo is so much fun to explore - you can walk everywhere. We rode the funicular up to the Santuario (church) de Santa Luzia - beautiful church with amazing views. A quick stroll from the church is Citiana de Santa Luzia - an Iron age settlement (ruins) inhabited from 7th century BC up to Roman times. Wandering the historical streets of Viana do Castelo is interesting with many shops and restaurants. We visited the Museu do Traje which tells the story of traditional dress of the local people in the 19th century. Be sure to tour the Gil Eannes Ship - a hospital ship that would set sail for the Ocean off Newfoundland and Greenland and support the trawlers fishing those waters for cod. There is also a chocolate museum to tour and a fort and waterfront. Nearby are also beaches - warning: the water is cold after all it is the Atlantic. Located in the hotel is a small restaurant serving lunch and dinner - we ate a delicious dinner there our first night. Breakfast in the morning at the hotel was perfect - just the right amount and variety. Another evening we dined at Restaurante Austurias - amazing food. Oh - be sure to find Adam Fine Pastry - wonderful chocolates and macarons.
The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay most enjoyable. Thank you Christina, Christiana & Isabelle for your warm hospitality. We hope to return some day.
Absolutely nothing. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Nicely designed small hotel. Good location, good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Nothing major, overall a charming and clean hotel. Two details fell a little bit short of expectations.
We booked a room with two separate beds, but the beds were made as single bed. There was no way to have an extra set of bed linen.
Some details were less well maintained than we expected.

Everything. A three star hotel with five star service, no gimmicks, very good breakfast, sound proofing on the windows overlooking the street that actually worked - could not fault anything, very good restaurant with an excellent express lunch that was unbelievably good and worth a great review in its own right. You can't afford not to go and stay there

The location - near to everything, the staff, the breakfast with jazz music, the good talk that we had with Joao ... well, all was amazing. Oh, yes ... In the breakfast try the Croissant's ... awesome!!!
Dinner in the hotel restaurant and ask for octopus and rice in oven ...
