Typical -- overcooked scrambled eggs, rolls, kiwi slices, orange-juice (not fresh)
Do you know what a "Dormer Window" is? Neither did I. A window is a window, right? FYI, a Dormer window means there is no window at all in the room. Our room at Casa Pinto was dimly lit in daytime and pitch-black (and DANGEROUS!) at night. There were only overhead lights available, and one of them was broken. No bedside lighting, no indirect lighting. My husband is asleep beside me, and I have to go to the bathroom in the night. I don't want to turn a bright light on his face, so I try to find my way in pitch-darkness. Instead of finding the bathroom, I wound up at the entrance door to the room, which woke my husband anyway.
The Casa Pinto has no staff. The entire operation has one young female employee. She checks people in and out, cooks breakfast, washes dishes, and fixed the broken toilet seat in our room. I felt sorry for her. She did not speak a word of English despite the fact that half the guests were speaking English. I nicely approached her (with a cell phone translator), to explain that pitch-blackness is DANGEROUS. She cell-phone translated back to me: "You have a reduced rate because the room has no window and no view." The room cost €70, and it was worth €15. Maybe. We were traveling with a Portuguese couple who stayed at another hotel, so they got involved, translating. We filled out a complaint book. Finally, the owner of the hotel got on the phone and yelled at our Portuguese friends. Worst customer service you could ever imagine. The Casa Pinto is a non-starter. Pass.

Lovely breakfast, proper coffee. The rooms are each individually decorated and stunning. Real gem of a guest house.

What we loved most is the rooftop terrasse with an amazing panoramic view! Watching the sunset from there was a dream!
Not so great customer service, basic breakfast compared to every other B&B we went to in Portugal

Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful
No natural light of note in the bedroom or bathroom. This was not clear to me when I booked online.Terribly noisy and ineffective extractor fan came on when we switched the main bathroom light on. This light is necessary to look in the mirror. This noisy fan was unacceptable and bad.

lovely old building with quirky decor. our bathroom was like being in a Turkish baths! lovely views from the windows and the Terrace.
it was not a problem for us but there were lots of quite narrow stairs that could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues

Adorable room in a gem of a small hotel. Excellent location, exceptional value, friendly staff. Tasty breakfast! Indoor and outdoor seating options. Creative decor in guest rooms and community rooms. Well worth a visit!!
Bed was a bit firm. No hair dryer in room. (But I’m sure would have been made available had we asked.) The room could also use a second, small trash can.

An outstanding little hotel!
The rooms are boutique-style, the photos on the internet do no do them justice.
Luxirious, very stylish, every room has a different theme.
Lovely, generous, homemade breakfast with very friendly host.

unique historic building, nice terrace, great breakfast, excellent location
It was all fine for us but people need to know that the stairs are steep and the rooms are small. Not
a problem for most people.

this place was fantastic and super cute. The hosts were adorable, we had the suite and it was so nice. Breakfast was so yummy, we loved our stay. The entire place was so clean and just so cute. The castle, walled city and everything just beautiful.
although the suite had air conditioning, it did not work very well or was strong enough which really made it difficult to sleep. if they fix that, this place would be magical.

Charming small hotel right inside the old walled city. The roof terrace has spectacular views. The staff could not be kinder. She went out of her way to make us feel welcomed.

The location and the cleanliness. There is not one thing I can add to the overall experience of this small Inn.
Unless you like staying in a hotel with no lights in the hall and no windows. Day trip!
Where should we begin? The Inn person would not let us check in early, even though they were 300 ft. away. They said it was lunchtime. The person did not know how to use the credit card machine and we ended up paying cash. Luckily we had
cash. There is no secure bank in this small town. The room was 1978 oriental décor. The room had no windows and the lighting was so poor you could not read a book or shave safely. The picture depicts a king or queen bed. The headboard is just that for the small full bed frame. The bed was one step up from sleeping on the floor. The stairwell light did not work. You needed your light from your phone to unlock the door. If you are wondering why we did not ask to change rooms. It was our plan, we dropped our bags and left for a walk around before dark and returned to find the clerk had left. When we left for dinner the entire property was dark and we went around turning on the lights that worked for safety and left on all night. The front door to the Inn you need to unlock the door with a key to exit the building. We left it unlocked.
