Café da manhã diversificado e muito bom. Boa limpeza do quarto e do banheiro.

the staff was nice.
it is not a 4 star hotel. the rooms are basic and tiny the corridor is with a kind of a dirty carpet. the view from the dining room is to the parking of the hotel.

The staff were excellent. They really made us welcome and a couple of them spoke some English. The location is very convenient for a short walk (uphill) into town. It was also great that the hotel had a parking lot. The breakfast was very adequate with lots of choice.
The room was basic and we found that the wifi didn't work very well in the room.

The hotel, which (as far as I know) was created from the junction of two large old houses, inside and out kept the old style, but everything looks like new, very well maintained. In the halls and corridors, pieces of art of good taste. The hotel's service is very good, with helpful staff and ready to give tips about the city. The room we stayed in is beautiful, with beautiful decor and very comfortable, small, but with a good king bed with a medium density mattress, great for resting and waking up well. In the room there are places to store suitcases and clothes, fridge and air conditioning. As we were with our daughter, we took a triple room (there was another bunk bed). It would fit, tight, up to 4 people. The bathroom has good space and luxury, hot water already in the pipe and good quality convenience items. It is difficult to park in the city. So, it is preferable to walk. Initially we found the hotel a bit far from the center (+-700m) to go walking but it wasn't. We only took 10 minutes. As we arrived by car, an important feature of the hotel was the private parking. Finally, the breakfast was good, varied, with some room for improvement.

a fabulous historic property, beautifully restored and maintained. the staff was amazing and location perfect. it’s in a quieter part of the city but short walking distance to all attractions. nice restaurants are in near proximity. secured parking provided. I would highly recommend it to anybody who likes to experience history by living it while enjoying all comforts of modern life.
if you are a light sleeper and tend to go to bed early take your earplugs with you. you will need them wherever you stay in Ouro Preto as all those old buildings don’t have much soundproofing. despite that I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. it’s a place to be remembered!

Outstanding crew. An historical building. We had a nice and cozy room with an explendid view. The pool is tiny but was the first pool in the entire city and is protected by historical authorities. No changes can be made. The owners are always present and offers anyone all the attention needed. It is a catholic enviroment but no proselytism. Just an historical situation. Any denominations will be at home and feel confortable. Breakfast is included in hotel rate with huge variety of local products. There is a parking lot. Two water streams runs on both sides of the building and the hotel is Eco friendly. Sometimes we thought it was raining but it was just the water stream's sounds. Funny. Turned out it was like a lullaby. We loved to stay there. I recommend this hotel. As an historical building there are limitations in soudproofing. But, in my experience, guest's politeness is what makes the diference.
The smoke detector has a green led that blimps. Did not bother me. But bothered my daughter in law during the night. Could be turned off or covered.

staff were very friendly
It’s an old building, therefore sound travels easily. My room was close to lift and it woke me up a lot. there is a window over the door of my room. therefore when someone walks by the light outside comes on and shines into the room all night. Our wardrobe was old and smelled. I could hear traffic outside too.

The location and the rooms were nice, neat and well designed. The gardens and trees in the parking area give a nice view to welcome the guests. The breakfast room call attention to the good design taking profit of the old walls.
The adaptation of an old building to become a hotel is in fact a good idea. However, there are no signs showing what is new and what is old. In these cases, the guests loose the opportunity to think about the question of preservation and conservation of old buildings and the contemporary needs. There should be signs or leaflets giving an overview of the history of the building in the context of Ouro Preto and the Colonial/Imperial regime. Besides, many people take for granted that building details could be original, for instance the ceiling painting at the reception.
I would like to say also the shower floor is very slippery.
