Family run ryokan - remote, small and old but the family running this place is friendly and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were great.
The baths were nice and relaxing after a long day at Kamikochi.
5 mins walk to the bus stop to get up to Kamikochi.
The futons were very thin and uncomfortable.

Pleasant environment. Quiet. Relaxing. Clean. Great service from ryokan. Great onsen.

The food was so good. The staff was very nice and the onsens were comfortable and clean with pretty views.
As a bad sleeper, I would’ve liked the option to use a lighter sheet and fluffier pillow.

Location was close to bus stop. The best breakfast and dinner at a ryokan during our stay. Planning on returning on our next trip. Very personal staff.

Food was outstanding, every single side dish was delicious too. The staff were very friendly and accommodating too. The baths were all relaxing and well maintained.

Friendly staff and nice food!
Room is a bit small for 5 people, but it is still okay and not too bad

The room is pretty bare and for US travelers the futons were thin and uncomfortable. However, the location, the food and the hot springs were amazing!
The sleep was uncomfortable and very cramped for five people- would recommend breaking into two rooms for a larger party.

Really enjoyed the private onsen at this ryokan. The larger pool especially had the right temperature for me. The food was great and the lady who served our meals was so nice and smiley.
The smaller pools were a bit too hot, but that’s down to personal preference.

Very good service.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was authentic and interesting and the room was great with fantastic views of the mountains. It is worth paying the extra to have a sitting area with wonderful views. We enjoyed the Onsen experience very much. We had a fantastic time.
I didn't like the pillows, but this is because they are different to western-style pillows and felt like they had little rocks in them. This is not a major issue - you get used to it.
