Great amenities, there were a lot of areas to explore in the Ryokan and it was kept very clean. They have a DDR machine (note the opening hours though) and a manga shelf (which is cool even if we couldn't read Japanese). The futon and chairs are comfortable and the rooms are gorgeous. The onsen has some unique baths, and an outdoor pool area looking out to the city. The staff are very nice, note also they only speak Japanese, and I got the impression this is a stay frequented more by locals than tourists.
The ryokan is quite old (eg the floor of the onsen is very slippery, and some parts of the hotel show signs of wear and tear). You are given only one key for each room, and it would have been nice if breakfast was included. In terms of convenience, you can get to the Ryokan from Asahikawa station via an hourly bus that takes half an hour to get there, else taxi/driving is your next best bet to getting around.

The room was a spacious tatami room, good for a family. It had room for 4 futons. Medium (not small) refrigerator. Hot springs were good. Parking was convenient.
The room was rather expensive. We didn't try the breakfast or meal, so can't say anything about the meals.

Staff were very helpful and they held the restaurant open for a short period to allow us to have dinner.

Eclectic. Great mixture of time warp decor, including vinyl jukeboxes and old movie posters, sculptures and Knick knacks. Awesome onsen. Very different. Not for everyone.

The Onsen is nice, the staff there is really helpful and friendly. The room is big enough for a family
The toilet in my room has bad smell. Room is well equiped and everything is old. The location is a bit remote but it is ok if you can drive.
