This was listed as a luxurious rental property. Once I got to the block of the location I realized it was anything but. The apartment building was located in an old building that seem as though it was falling apart and in severe need of renovations. Walking into this abomination of a rental you are immediately hit with the smell of damp, mildew, basement smell. It was as humid as a moist basement in there on the second floor. He listed this apartment as sleeping 8-10 when in reality it barely slept 4. I was with 9 family members some of which slept on the floor. There are 2 rooms with one queen bed for each room which were riddled with stains. We found 2 really thin almost jail cell looking mattresses which had stains and what looked like a mud print on it which rendered those useless. The lights began flickering and did not stop flickering. There then was a blow up air mattress which leaked. And the sofa was for one person. No sheets were provided for the airless air mattress I had to go out and buy my own. And the floor was severely uneven in the apartment and of kilter. This property also listed it has a fire pit and common place to sit which was so dirty and full of dirty and branches you could not sit on it and the fire pit was full of water rusted and tilting about to break. The roof area looked nothing like the picture at all. The neighborhood is full of homeless people, drug addicts and drunks that tend to stumble though there from the gas station that is near there. I called the owner twice as soon as we arrived to talk to him about all these things and he did not answer any of calls nor did he return them. I finally messaged him on the app and told him everything that was wrong to which he replied he’s never been told his listing was bad. I replied to this lie by pulling multiple reviews left by other people who have rented this place and sending it to him. I feel as though this owner was dishonest and I’ve been robbed of my hard earned money. I was with my in-laws and multiple family members who all felt the same way I did. Honestly almost drove 7 hours back home just not to stay in this property and cut my losses. Horrible steer absolutely clear from this guy and his atrocious rental!!!!!!!!!!!

Eddie’s apartment is in a great part of Portland walking distance to the best parts of town. His communication was excellent, he had an extra air mattress when we needed it and the space was clean upon arrival.
This place is a great option for a group of young guys (dart board, good location, affordable) or a low frills couple who cares most about location and doesn’t need anything fancy.
I would caution against this for couples or a group of girls who are looking for something higher end. Low ceilings, dingy carpeting, mattresses weren’t terribly comfortable, and residents above and below the unit.
Eddy was great though and it worked for us!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was an easy walk to Old Port and also close (11 min by car) to the PWM airport. Overall, it was pretty quiet except for the usual urban city noise and the neighborhood felt safe.
We used the air conditioning in the bedrooms when the temps rose. The mattress in the front bedroom felt extra soft and the mattress in the back bedroom was more firm to our liking. We chose to eat out for most meals. There were several coffee shops within a couple of blocks. However, I do not recall any grocery stores nearby if we had chosen to cook for ourselves. One hitch in the bathroom shower, the hot and cold are switched - there is plenty of hot water available if you keep the knob to the right near the turn-off.
We would stay here again. Thanks for the hospitality.

Super clean, beautiful space in a great location that’s close to downtown. Very reasonably priced as well!

First and foremost I rented this property as it is listed it has a fenced in yard. The yard is open and filled with trash and Miscellaneous discarded items. I would never spend time comfortable in that yard. As for the apartment it is very dingy, moldy, and humid. Our host was responsive but the property is listed over for a few hundred dollars a night, that is an outrage. There was also a domestic dispute in the apartment below us around 10:30pm our first night which led to us feeing very stressed and uncomfortable the rest of the time. The front door was never locked and the back door off the back bedroom leaving to the yards doorknob people off in my hand. It is a run down property that is not well maintained. I enjoyed my time in Portland but this stay was a bummer.

First I’ll start off with arrival. When we got there, the cleaner was still there, not done. He wrapped up in 20 mins wearing his weed themed slides, and we soon realized he barely did his job. The place had a weird stench, there was hair in the bathroom, and don’t get me started on the bedding and towels. The blankets, sheets and pillows smelled like love stains, the towels smelled like wet dogs. The shower and hairdryer were filthy, floors sticky, the bathroom sink didn’t drain.
Oh, the doors. My friend stayed in one of the rooms and got locked in there because the door knob fell off when he tried to pull the door open. The door downstairs in the basement didn’t lock (also had a broken door knob that fell when opening), nor did the door into the laundry room, giving any intruder complete access to the place! We slept in fear because of this.
Overall, this was only not a luxury experience, but it was not even a substandard rental. Would not recommend.

The apartment was just as listed. Clean and ready for us. Easy check in check out. Wonderful communication between the host and my party. There were no surprises because all of the information was properly laid out in the listing. The outdoor area was nice and the park down the street was nice! Beautiful views of the bay and planes landing. We enjoyed it and would rent this place again.

Great Location
The apartment was exactly what we needed for our weekend trip. Eddy was a great host and answered any questions we had about the apartment and arrival. Location was great. We would stay here again.

Not as represented
This is NOT a luxury apartment (no dishwasher) and barely enough essentials in the kitchen (wash them first!). The place was dirty: floor was brown w/dirt when wiping up a water spill, hair in bathroom, stained drop ceilings, dents in wall, scrapes on paint. Location felt like a repressed area, and the hallway/stairs felt like a tenement building and NOWHERE to park unless you pay $20/night to rent the driveway. This was definitely not worth the high price. Save yourself the disappointment and find somewhere suitable.

Walker's delight
The check-in process was simple and communication was simple. The unit has window AC in each bedroom which aren't very cold but ample.
The unit was very clean and has plenty of seating for a family or small group of friends.
It was really easy to walk to Old Port and to walk to the hip restaurants on the Congress strip. It's also super easy to get in a car and get across the bridge to South Portland.

A lovely stay
Clean, easy to access and comfortable. Thoughtful little extras - cell phone chargers, bottle of wine, little chocolates, fresh flowers. Very communicative and accommodating host. Really enjoyed our stay!

We had 5 in our party. The apartment was spacious enough for everyone and clean. Treats were a nice touch and made us feel welcome. The kitchen was good for breakfast and reheating left-overs, but I don't think we would have cooked an entire dinner there. The air mattress was big and great for our single, very tall, son. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. The NEST thermostats are only for heat; there are window AC units and of course we were there during an exceptionally hot period. But the AC units handled the heat and we were happy. Parking on the street is around the corner, but never really too far. We were able to pull across the street for quick loading and unloading of suitcases, etc.We did actually walk to the harbor area for shopping and dinner. It was a bit far and I don't think I'd do it alone as a female, because of some of the areas one passes, but in a group we were very comfortable. I suggest either walking into town, driving half-way, parking in a free area and walking the rest, or ubering there, because parking by the wharf was expensive. Overall, we had a great experience. The lighthouses were beautiful. We enjoyed a family reunion at Sebago Lake State Park, and shopping in Freeport is always fun!

Great location to downtown and park
Better than expected. Was a little nervous about the area, but ended up being a great location overall. Loved the roof deck, access to park, and many great restaurants. Also, pet friendly so we could bring our family dog on mini vacation!

Nice alleyway apt but parking was a block away
Very nice apartment with easy check in (smart lock with code) the only downside is you have to park at least one block away as there is no legal parking closer... other then that I have no complaints, the Home was clean ,well kept, had plenty of coffee, water, well decorated and spacious

Good location but the building needs some TLC
Good things first: Location is awesome. It is less than 10 minutes to downtown Portland/Old Port as well as South Portland. The neighborhood is awesome and all of the neighboring buildings have been updated. There is a cute breakfast place around the corner, and street parking was never an issue. The mattresses were super comfortable and the security system was great. Amenities (snacks, shampoo, hairdryer, waters, good towels, and high quality tissues and TP) were a nice touch. Eddie is also very responsive and professional.
Room for improvement: The building itself could use some updating, both inside and out. The unit itself was updated but not with an eye for quality. The dropped ceiling panels were stained. The couches were peeling. There was a missing floorboard under turn carpet in the back bedroom. And a fresh paint job throughout the whole building might brighten it up. The other unusual experience we had (only on Friday) was that they were building a deck directly outside the living room window. We left earlier than we'd planned that morning to get away from the noise of the drills, hammers, and saw. It might have made more sense to wait until a time the unit was vacant to do that kind of work. Luckily, we'd woken up early that day. My friend also found an opened water in her closet/office and the garbage can in her room had not been emptied. We did not ask for the unit to be re-serviced because otherwise, the unit was very clean and this appeared to be an oversight.

Overpriced
I get that this unit is in a good location and walkable to downtown Portland but this place shows it’s age, even with some improvements that were made. The bedroom door won’t shut. You cannot raise your arms above your head for hitting the drop ceiling (a few inches above my head). The bathroom leans to one side and there are areas of the floor in various rooms that you can feel gaps underneath it. It does have beautiful wood floors in one of the bedrooms. You cannot get local tv stations or the major networks. It has more of a college apartment feel to it. None of these are deal busters individually but collectively it detracts from the experience. I’ve stayed in nicer places for much less. I feel there are improvements that should be made to make this a more comfortable place to stay and I don’t believe the price aligns with the condition of the unit. We appreciated the snacks and wine that were left for us and the owner/MGR was responsive if we had questions.

Clean, very liveable. Great service from landlord!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Although a bit sketchy on the first look, it was nice and clean, great floorplan and walking distance to the Old Port area. Not too many conveniences luke dishwasher and disposal, but the essentials were there and working well. Our unit was a walkup so tough with suitcases, but do-able. Would book it again.

Very comfortable place in a great location!
I stayed at Eddy's place at the end of July, 2018 with my spouse, son, daughter and her boy friend and we very much enjoyed our stay. Eddy's place was very comfortable and the location was very convenient to the downtown area. We had a small issue with the air mattress and Eddy made sure we had a new one the next day. Great customer service!! We use the kitchen to make a great meal for 5 one evening and it worked well. The internet worked well and there was plenty of bandwidth for the 5 of us. Also, there was ample parking available at the end of the street. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place with easy access to the downtown area, you should absolutely consider Eddy's place.

Has all the potential, but dirty and grimy!
I am not sure why the previous review said it was clean. It was anything but clean. For starters, we had to mop the kitchen and bedroom hardwood floors due to dirt, sand and misc. stuff. But since there was not a mop or broom in site, we were on out hands & knees with damp paper towels doing this after a 13 hr travel day. Then in the bathroom, a used toothbrush, toothpaste spit on the mirror and pink scum all over the shower & sink were present. We werent given enough towels so the first night, we had to share wet ones with each other. Honestly, nothing felt clean. I don’t think the place has ever been dusted or cleaned behind anything. The place could be decent if the owner would hire a real cleaner to come in and detail the place, better linens were used & appropriate linens & towels provided before you arrive late at night. The only thing I would add is that the owner is fast at responding.
The location is great, the furniture ok, so the potential is there, but we would not recommend until deep & consistent cleaning was done!

Walking distance to Old Port
Came to Portland with another couple to visit friends in South Portland. Needed a place close preferably a walkable location. This apartment was within walking distance of both Old Port and South Portland. The place was clean and newly renovated. There were some challenges. The available parking was 3/4 block from the apartment and we were visiting on the weekend so finding a place to park on the weekend could be difficult. We knew in advance the apt was on the second floor but the stairs are extremely steep so carrying luggage up the stairs was treacherous. The only other issue was that there were plenty of towels but no wash cloths. None of these were huge problems as we are young and could manage. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and pthe fact that we could walk to local places made it a nice place to spend the weekend.

Great little place!
Let me get my gripes out of the way; the floors in one bedroom had been recently redone and the smell of shellac was a bit overwhelming, the information I received stated towels provided but no washcloths, and the knob in the shower to turn on the hot water was a bit fussy, and whoever hung the mirrors did not have anyone under 6 foot in mind. I truly hope the owner does not see this as a me being negative but as an opportunity to improve.
Now for the good: the place was overall great and well appointed. Making Netflix and Hulu available was nice touch. I can not say enough about how good the location was, just a short walk to Portland’s downtown area with lots of food and drink but also a few local places right around the corner.

Great Stay!
Great Place, Great Stay! The apartment is even better in pictures, and is a short walk away from anything you desire in Portland. The owner was super responsive anytime I needed him, and we had a lovely stay.
Thanks!
