Kleines top gelegenes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal
3.9
Breakfast was fine. Staff were pleasant.
The room was very dated. The bed was uncomfortable.

The Hotel was easy to access from the airport and is in a great location. Check in was quick and easy, the room was nice and warm on a cold day
Decor was dated and the bathroom could have done with being a bit cleaner. The Breakfast was absolutely awful, the bacon looked like it had been microwaved.
3.9
Great food and friendly service.
Maybe a toaster for making your own toast.
3.9
Great location, clean, friendly staff

Breakfast was excellent, room.was clean and well served fresh towels and bed was made on a two night stay ...some guests struggled without a lift
Great Hotel bar
Lacked staff for Sunday breakfast

Nice stairwell.
The parking - no directions to the very poorly set up parking area. I actually found it by accident. Finding the actual hotel once you get to get to the parking area is ridiculous.
The walls are paper thin - I was kept up all night by someone snoring in the next room, then by their alarm which they left on while they went for breakfast.
The shower recess was covered in mould.
The bed - extremely uncomfortable.
Received a message the day before I arrived saying the restaurant was closed and then finding out it was because staff “needed a break” was ridiculous, given their cancellation conditions required 48 notice. I’d been travelling and working all day, I just wanted to have a meal and a shower before heading out to work again, not have to run around trying to find somewhere to eat. Breakfast in the morning was also substandard.
The staff weren’t exactly engaging.

The location in the middle of Kirkwall was excellent. An easy walk to sights, cafes and shops.

Great location, welcoming staff
Carrying bags up stairs was challenging

The Orkney Hotel is a nice Hotel in a nice location. Near the St. Magnuscathedral, the lovely shops and the busstation.. The room we had was nice and cosy. We stayed a week and we will surely return to this Hotel when wr visit the St. Magnusfestival.
It was not so clean
And the pizzaria was noisy when they start cleaning after closing.
But the Hotel was nice. We enjoyed the garden. And we enjoyed the nice Breakfasts!

Location and food is great
Shower pressure there was none!

In need of attention, somewhat rundown and dated. Room was located a trek from the staircase. Definitely requires a lot of TLC.

I arrive at 13:45 at the hotel. No one at reception. There's a note on the reception desk to call a number if you need something. I was told to wait till 14:00 before I could check-in. Then the Receptionist arrive. Jumps over the counterand still doesn't acknowledge that I'm there.
Was told I can go to the Royal Cask Lounge bar or the Restaurant for dinner. When I arrived at the Royal Cask Lounge the bartender had to go find out if dinner will be served. He came back with an answer but I was advised that dinner will only be available till 19:00. So I quickly had to place my order. Ordered the Scampi. Three quarters of the plate was filled with fries.
Rooms aren't soundproof at all. Heard everyone coming down the corridor and down the street. I heard my neighbors alarm.
Breakfast was a disaster. Got to the restaurant at 9:05. All the tables were dirty and no staff in sight. Went to reception again no one there. Went up again to the restaurant to finally find a staff member. Sat about 10 minutes before I was approached. No menu given. Coffee not refilled because there was nothing left. Only white toast available.
Carpets in the whole hotel needs a proper wash imor needs to be replaced. The whole place smells funny.
Light in the shower doesn't work. Extractor fans need a good dusting. Mold in the shower. Bed runner needs to be cleaned. No coffee maker just a kettle. The kettle needs to be cleaned.
When I came back from breakfast Housekeeping was about to enter my room. After 10:00 Housekeeping again knocked at my door. Clearly they didn't want me to stay will 11:00 which was the check out time.
Remember to bring an adaptor

We liked the decor and the staff.
The location could have been better, which was unfortunate, as the hotel couldn't be bettered.
3.9
Easy walking distance to town centre. Breakfast fine on the whole but a wider range of yogurts, fruit and cereal would have been better.
Bathroom was tiny and didn’t seem particularly clean.
Shabby decor throughout.
Staff were very friendly but it was understaffed.
Restaurant/bar food menus very limited.
3.9
The location was quiet and convenient.
When I booked I specifically requested a room without a lot of stairs to access as I do have some mobility issues. I was put on the top floor at almost the farthest end of the hall!
3.9
Breakfast was fine and staff were really nice - when you could find them! Room was spacious and bed was excellent and it was quiet .
We arrived late from the ferry and were disappointed to find only one cup in the room and no towels …in the morning the reception was not manned and I had to hunt down staff in the restaurant. My impression was that the hotel is recovering from the tough pandemic situation and that a skeleton staff are coping gamely with too much work. This hotel could be excellent in terms of its gracious old building and spaciousness … but needs an injection of staff and money ….. the staff who we found were very helpful and friendly.

The Hotel is well situated only a few minutes away from the Cathedral. Bed comfortable. Good WiFi and breakfast. Staff friendly. Good storage.
I requested a Quiet Room but being adjacent to the street, it was not always quiet.
Food good when it arrived but it took a long time coming.

Very central.
The bedroom arrangement was strange though comfortable enough.
3.9
Receptionist was exceptional and really friendly and dealt with any issue we had. The location was good and we were able to reach the centre of town quickly. The food was very nice and the room was a good size
The room was a double bed not a twin as requested but this was fixed. A bar on the back of the bathroom was broken. But these were minor quibbles and I really enjoyed my stay
