We had a fantastic stay at Casa Valderama. The property was exactly as described, spacious for the 7 adults (two couples and three adult daughters). Everyone had their own rooms and bathrooms and throughout the property were places for people to sit together or sit quietly with a book and a glass of something. Pool and hot tub were great and the games room well used. The property is really well equipped. This is clearly someones summer home and loved and well looked after. Communication with Val was always excellent and Kayleigh was super helpful and friendly and gave us lots of great tips on the area that we fully exploited.
The house is well located. Yes its part way up a hill but anyone with moderate fitness can get up it. Someone in our party has recently had a double hip replacement and found it no problem. And at the bottom of the hill is a wide variety of excellent restaurants, bars and all the shops you might need. It also errs to the Spanish as opposed to a super touristy place you might find the other side of Malaga. Which we really liked. The beach is clean and (unlike ours) clear and lovely to swim in, although it is deep v quickly! And its easy to get to places like Nerja, Granada, Malaga Old Town, Frigliana.
In short. We loved it. We had a bad experience last time out in Spain in an all you can eat hotel. This was the complete opppsite and I suspect we will look to come back again if Val will have us!! Thanks for use of your home!!

Bars and restaurants are very good.
Recommend the Fondue at the Marina beach bar/restaurant .
Would love to go back! 👍

All this and the great communication with Kayleigh made our stay very special.

Excellent experience
We had a wonderful stay in Casa Valderrama in La Herradura. We lots of room for our extended family of ten people. The villa was clean and extremely well equipped with amazing views of the bay. The pool, hot tub and games room were an amazing addition. Val was a very helpful host and very responsive to all emails. Keighley was also very accommodating, providing us with recommendations regarding the area. I would recommend renting a car during.
Overall we had a wonderful experience in Casa Valderma.

Great place to stay
It is on a headland overlooking the bay. A15 minute walk downhill to the seafront. However, a 25/30 minute slow stroll back uphill. This did not detract from the holiday and the views from the terraces at the villa are spectacular.
The small town caters for holidaymakers but the vast majority are Spanish so you can immerse yourself in the Spanish culture and way of life. Worlds apart from the Costa del sol and Costa Balance hotspots.
Highly recommended.

Beautiful villa and amazing views
As a family of six adults we found the property very spacious with large bedrooms and bathrooms. Property was extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. Views from the balcony were fantastic and spotted dolphins in the bay. Check in and out was easy and property was spotlessly clean. Would recommend

Une vue magnifique
La villa est bien située et possède une vue magnifique sur la baie de La Herradura. On ne se lasse pas des couchers de soleil.
La maison est aussi très bien équipée et chaque chambre possède sa propre salle d'eau.

As beautiful as the pictures indicate…
This is a lovely property. Seven of us easily fit in the villa, enjoying all of the terraces, the well-appointed kitchen, the pool, and the cool Mediterranean breezes. The walk down to the village is easy, the walk back up something more of a workout—but not a problem. The property manager (Keighley) was very responsive when we had a few minor glitches. I can't say enough about this place—we spent a very relaxing week there, felt right at home. I just wish we had a month (or a lifetime) to spend there.

Perfect base for a great holiday
A really lovely villa with absolutely everything you need. We all had a great time.
We were warned that you need a car as it's a very steep walk to/from La Herradura and not really practical to get groceries without one - that is true! That said, we did get the hang of ordering local taxis (about 6 euros each way) so not really a big deal.

Great property, loads of space and fantastic view.
This villa was everything we were hoping for. Loads of space, every facility we wanted and a beautiful view across the bay. There are lots of areas for taking in the sun or seeking out the shade and the dining area is excellent - we preferred it to most restaurants we visited.
The pool and hot tub were well maintained and clean. The table tennis, darts board and pool table were all of good quality and well stocked with equipment.
Keighley was helpful and attentive, rising to the only challenge we had (the pool emptying) very promptly.
The walk down to the village was not as bad as I thought. I quite enjoyed the bit of exercise when getting back up - it made me feel I'd earned the morning baguette.
We had a vehicle to get around and to get the main shopping in. This worked well for us and I would recommend it to others.

Beautiful villa with stunning views.
We highly recommend this property. Although slightly tired in some of the decor, it's very well appointed with stunning views of the horseshoe bay and great facilities. We were met by Keighley who could not have been more helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable. Our group of 8 with ages from 50's to 80's loved it. The walk down into the village is easy but quite a challenge on the way up. Taxi's are easy to get and reasonably priced. It's an easy walk to and from the marina which is absolutely gorgeous. It's also a peaceful location which is another bonus. Great restaurants in the village and all very friendly.

A well equipped property that lived up to our expectation. Superb views across the bay.
A holiday enjoyed by all the members of the family; young & old. A very well maintained & equipped villa. We had no concerns about the safety around the pool as this could be locked off when there was no adult supervision. Keighley was very friendly, informative and obliging.
We ate out in Herradura on a number of occasions and found a good selection of places but having hit the end of the Spanish holidays it was very busy & we needed to book, especially being a party of 9 plus baby. A noticeable difference in the village after August 31st.
The uphill walk back from the village might be too much for some people, especially in the heat.

Wonderful villa, lovely location, definitely recommend!!!
We're 2 families who've holidayed together for 13 years and were a bit nervous as had only ever had package holidays before, So were concerned, what if the transfers didn't show?, what if the villa was horrible?, would we or the kids be bored?
Well, what can we say!!!! Firstly were impressed with the personal touch from owners Val and Chris, calling to introduce themselves, discuss the villa and being very contactable.
Absolutely loved the villa, photos didn't do it justice. Hot tub was bliss, sitting there with my book, letting the kids rule the pool. (I say kids but I mean 3 boys aged 14,14,16 and girl 17). There was so much space, the bedrooms were a great size. The kitchen had every utensil you could possibly use. We spent a lot of our time on the terrace overlooking the pool and the view of the bay, which was amazing. The barbecue was great, had a couple of those, had a curry delivered which was delicious. We walked down to the village and beach but got taxi back, which was easy as they understood English. The hill is a little steep in places and in 40 degree's heat, not for me 😀but worth it for the view. We made sure we took shopping each time to justify the taxi fare.
Kids enjoyed having the games facilities as it broke up the pool time, the garage had balls, floats and rings that they could use in the pool, which was great.
Keighley, the manager was brilliant, met us upon arrival, gave guided tour and easily contactable, we needed to speak to her a couple of times (nothing major). By the next morning she was on the case and all sorted. She was also a great source of local information, far better than any holiday rep I've encountered.
This is not a traditional tourist location, which adds to the experience in my book. The locals like when you try to use Spanish as there are many who only know a little English. The day starts later here, although we left the villa about 7.45pm each evening for a casual stroll to dinner, the locals don't seem to come out till 10pm, some restaurants provide tapas free of charge when you order drinks which were nice, the marina also has couple of restaurants and a little bay, very picturesque, worth a look,
My only tip:if there're any specific things you like to do ie: waterpark or boat trip, research before you go as tourist office wasn't a great help, then you can see if they are do-able, especially if like us you don't hire a car.
Overall we definitely recommend this villa and location 👍𣐽𣑍

Great for a big family holiday
We hired this in early July for a family holiday to celebrate my Mum's birthday. There were ten of us in the group and we really enjoyed the space and facilities - the boys especially liked having the pool & table tennis. The villa gets the sun all day but has plenty of shading. It has lovely views whatever the time of the day. There was something here for everyone in our party & I'd be happy to hire it again. The villa is on a leafy point overlooking La Herradura beach which is only a 15 minute walk away down a quiet track but a little more challenging on the way back uphill! Although there are local fairly frequent buses that serve the neighbourhood, and taxis are easily booked, I'd recommend travellers bring their own car or arrange car hire. There are lots of things to see & do on the Costa Tropical, e.g. cycling, paddle boarding, canoeing, wind surfing, scuba diving, etc. We particularly enjoyed our boat trip from the harbour on the other side of the point. The Nerja caves are only about a half hour away and are very impressive. They can be pre-booked & along with the pretty hilltop village of Frigiliana they make for a good day trip. We had planned to go to Granada (about an hour away north) but decided against as it was warm enough on the coast and the forecast was a good deal higher there (mid to high 30s). There are plenty small shops in La Herradura and a large Mercadona supermarket only 15 minutes away by car in Almunecar.

This has to be the best
Excellent villa in perfect order, excellent location, wonderful views, safe environment, adequate parking for at least two cars. Great attention from owners' local representative. Could not be better.

The Perfect Villa - Faultless!!
The property was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had stunning views of the bay of La Herradura. We loved the games left at the property, the pool table and table tennis, the really well equipped kitchen (one of the best ever), great communication from Val and Chris the owners, the hot tub and the really quiet location. We have rented many villas over the years and this was one of the best EVER!!! Hope to be back next year - thank you Val and Chris - Giles

Some like it Hot !!!
From the warm greeting we received to our sad departure, everything did what it said on the tin ! One of the first rentals I've been to that was under sold by the brochure. Superb views , fantastic accommodation and a charming resort that welcomed families. A very Spanish resort where nothing was too much trouble for our Iberian hosts. A/C in four of the five tastefully furnished bedrooms . This was just as well as the temperatures soared to 40 c for the week of our stay.Everything one needed for a holiday to remember. Thanks for allowing us to stay at this well judged spectacular villa. The property was clean , well tended and decorated. The gorgeous manger greeted us and directed us to some yummy eateries and drinking holes. Highlights for us being "The Hairy Bar" and La Realenza Pizzeria that served Spanish and Italian food at family friendly prices . Seafood abounds as expected with the former, El Bamboo, starring in it's role as a sublime beach restaurant where fish is cooked on a custom built BBQ made from an old fishing boat lying outside on the beach. The pool was brilliant and could be partially shaded from the sun and the hot tub also boasted a covered canopy which allowed an escape from the sun if required. I have no hesitation in recommending this beautifully presented property !

perfect
I booked this villa for myself, my husband, two daughters, one son in law and 4 grandchildren (aged between 6 and 13). It is an amazing villa with stunning views across the bay and every facilty you could ask for. The children were happy in the pool and hot tub most of the day giving the grown ups time to relax in the sun and enjoy the view. The property is well maintained and very clean. The manager Keighley was very helpful and gave us full instructions when we arrived so we could enjoy all the facilities. We would recommend the villa to any of our friends.

Amazing villa!!
Just wanted to write a quick note to say thank you for letting us stay in your amazing villa. We couldn't have asked for more and didn't want to leave. The views are beautiful, the villa spotless and really modern and all the rooms are spacious with lovely en-suite facilities. The pool was great and the hot tub a great extra that you wouldn't usually find at other villas. We had such a lovely time and loved every minute....we'll definitely be back!!
Thank you

Outstanding holiday house
A villa that has everything - excellent comfortable accommodation, pristine spacious rooms - both indoors and on the terraces; All facilities extremely well equipped. Spectacular views over the bay from all rooms and easy proximity to local town and neighbouring villages. At least three good restaurants in locality, with wider selection in nearby Almunacer. One hour from Malaga airport . Highly recommended.
