A charming home with incredible ocean views in Manarola, which we thought was the loveliest town of Cinque Terre. We were very well oriented by the owners friend, and received some excellent restaurant recommendations.

Lorella’s property overlooking the small harbor in Manarola is one of a kind. The 3 story home sits on a cliff overlooking the harbor below, with the bedrooms and kitchen/living room area split among the three levels. The views are something from a movie and the 3 bedrooms are spacious and easy to keep cool with the AC units in each. There is a washing machine for your laundry that you can hang to dry in the breeze from the ocean. The kitchen is equipped with all that you need to dine in should you want. The check process was super simple and take Lorella & Rita up on the offer for someone to transport your bags up to the house. I cannot thank Lorella enough for all her assistance with our booking (from a car service from Genoa to transport to Lucca when the trains went on strike) and allowing us to stay in her beautiful home. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat in a laid-back town then look no further. Thanks again Lorella, we hope to be back soon.

This apartment with its garden covers 4 levels, each with a spectacular panoramic view of the Mediterranean coast and Cinque Terra. There are several stairs, including to get into the apartment. Some of the rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans which was needed during a very hot stay. The host was very helpful on our arrival. We would return. Loved the views

We loved our time in Cinque Terre. This Manarola property is everything promised and one of the most amazing places we have stayed. The views are from every room, all amenities are provided, communications with the owner are easy and as-needed.

Cinque Terre in general is a remarkable place. From the turquois ocean to the mountains to the colorful homes nestled into the mountain sides. Lorella's property couldn't have been in a better location to take it all in. Lorella was very accommodating and responsive to our needs.

We spent 5 amazing nights here in Manarola and we are already trying to plan a trip back. The home is absolutely perfect! The beds are comfortable, the views are spectacular. We chose to bring back dinner and wine to enjoy on the balcony because it's the best view on the island. Lorella is an outstanding host and goes through the house with great detail when you arrive. Which helps you know the house simply. She also has great recommendations on hikes, restaurants , the trains and the ferry. We hiked from Manarola to Corniglia one of the days and it was challenging but gorgeous. I HIGHLY recommend booking this home if you have the opportunity. We are still smiling thinking of our time spent here. LOVELY

This is the house when you look up at the hills and I want to stay in that house! Everything in the house is comfortable and well provided. The location is excellent. Manarola is a great town to stay in out of the five. You will climb many hills and many stairs wherever you are in the Cinque. The small walkways with no cars are part of the charm and the experience.
You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

This property has an incredible location. With it’s amazing views and the sound of the waves it is impossible to not relax here. Because of it’s fantastic location it does mean that there’s quite a big hill to get up to get to the house and lots of steps in the house, that would make it difficult for smaller children or those with accessibility issues. The air conditioning was a life saver in the summer sun. Definitely a lovely place to watch some beautiful sunsets with a glass of wine!

A magical week staring out into impossibly beautiful Manarola framed through a picture window of bougainvilla. Grazie Lorella for a perfect Cinque Terre retreat.

Fabulous, magical, best views in town!
Rooms very clean and we had everything we needed, unfortunately dishwasher and washing machine leaked, breakers kept blowing. Those were minor issues compared to how wonderful the location and comfort the house provided. We loved it!

Belvedere 226 was everything promised. My friends and I spent a week in Manarola at Lorellas property overlooking the Ligurian Sea. The property was clean, comfortable and easily accommodated our group. The private decks provided stunning views of the sea and some of the most beautiful sunsets wed ever seen. Our host was responsive when we had a question, though we didnt have many because she met us upon check-in to provide a thorough overview of the spaces. We explored each of the five villages during our stay and Manarola was a great home-base with train and ferry services to travel between towns.

What a fantastic Villa overlooking the Ligurian sea. Perfect settin for a wonderful stay in CT
The Villa was everything that was marketed on the Home Awwy site. Rita and Lorella were great hosts helping us out with local sightseeing matters and responding quickly to texts when we had problems starting the dishwasher and washing machine. The site of the Villa overlooking the Ligurian Sea in Manarola was perfect and the views Bellissimo. Yes there are steps but you know that when you are visiting the Cinque Terre towns. Could not have asked for a more perfect site for us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Highly recommend the Villa to couples looking for a once in a life time experience watching the early morning scenes from the master bedroom overlooking the sea and having dinner and drinks while watching the sun set. Loved every aspect of the Villa.

The best place to stay to explore the Cinque Terre
The photos of this property do not do it justice. We pinched ourselves everyday of our holiday knowing we would be returning to Belvedere 226 to see the sunset. Manarola is a pretty place full of delightful restaurants and gelataria. So much to see and lots on ‘insider’ advice from Lorella, the owner of the property. We will be recommending this property to our family and friends, which suited our family of teenagers with plenty of space for everyone

Incredible doesn't even begin to describe this place
We (my husband, brother, and our 2 moms) LOVED everything about this unique home. From the waves crashing at night, the 3 different balconies, the outdoor shower, the beautiful decor, and the absolute best views in Manarola... period. Lorella was fantastic and communicated quickly with anything we needed. The place is truly magical and we will be back!!! Thank you Lorella, your beautiful home was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Europe!

Great location.
Properties in Cinque Terre are usually small. This property was on the larger side. The view was just amazing. Improvements to the broken shower on the main bedroom level should be made. Lorella was easy to work with and helped with arranging a doctor visit. Would recommend without hesitation.

Best View in Manarola
Five of us shared Lorella's three level house for a week and we loved the superb views and the well equipped house. It is a charming old home and a perfect base to explore Cinque Terre. As an old village home, it has the usual issues with overloaded power supply, but Lorella warned us about that. The wifi is excellent and it is a peaceful retreat from the busy, touristy days in the Cinque Terre villages.
The access to the house is of course up a steep street and not for those with dodgy hips or knees, however the reward is the unsurpassed view of the sea and coastline.

Stunning location! Great place to watch the sunset each evening!
House was ideally situated on the cliffs above Manarola, with an absolutely INCREDIBLE view...
Really enjoyed exploring the region early each morning and late afternoon to avoid the crowds that pour in during middle of day each day!
Will return !!

Paradise found in Manarola
My wife and I with our two sons (ages 11 and 17) spent a week at Bellevedere226 and I can't say enough positive things about the experience. Lorella was super helpful when booking the reservation, providing suggestions on activities and restaurants, and immediately addressing any (small) issues we had during our stay. Then there's the house, the views over the Ligurian Sea are amazing as are the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks below as you drift off to sleep or awake for your next daily adventure. House is well stocked and small grocery nearby was sufficient to purchase staples. Made use of the laundry facilities (mid-way through our 3 week trip). We enjoyed great dining at 3 restaurants in Manarola (Trattoria Dal Billy, Marina Piccola and Aristide with the latter having an amazing 9-dish seafood anitpasti) as well dinners at restaurants in Riomagiorre and Monterosso al Mare (each are short train rides away). Enjoyed great appetizers and drinks at Nessun Dorma Cinque Terre on our last evening, there can be a long wait with tourists arriving by boat but we lucked out (easy to see when line is short from the house with ~5 min walk). Activity highlights were jumping into the water from the rock near the marina (~30 ft), swimming and hiking from Manarola to Vernazza via Sella Marvede (672 m) with more of the most amazing views and a great lunch at Trattoria da Sandro before taking the train back to base in Manarola. Endless time enjoying the views with coffee, wine, a good book complimented by the well stocked collection of music... The question isn't whether you should book this location the first time, it's when will you book your next stay to enjoy it all over again? Can't wait to return, thanks for the memories!

Exceeded expectations
Very hard to peel ourselves away from such a beautiful property. Lorella has maintained a beautiful property in an amazing location. We were delighted to have this as our home base as we explored the region.
We were greeted in Manarola by Lorella's friend, Rita. A very warm and gracious lady, who was extremely helpful in adding to the tips and guidance we had already been gathering. We would have been glad to have spent more time with Rita!
We found the highlight of Cinque Terre to be the great hikes we took, followed by fun in the water, whether kayaking or a boat rental. We got lucky having chosen Manarola as a home base. This is a great town, somewhat lesser traveled by the larger crowds which can be found in Montorosso or Vernazza. In all cases, the largest crowds tend to be day visitors, making mornings and evenings much more relaxing.
Our morning routine quickly settled in by picking up fresh produce and provisions for breakfast, and bringing them back to enjoy on one of the terraces of Belvedere 226. We planned our adventures for the day while looking over a beautiful harbor. In hindsight, the swimmers among us should have been going for open water swims each morning - the crystal clear waters were so calm.
We hiked, kayaked, rented a boat in Vernazza, rode bikes from Levanto to Framura, snorkeled, relaxed on beaches, and more during the daytime. Evenings ranged from lovely dining experience (Miky) to take out. Wine tasting at various locations, with the wine tasting experience in Vernazza a particular highlight.
All the while, the beautiful home base in Manarola. Lorella's property is beautiful, clean, extremely well equipped. I consider myself a decent photographer, and can comfortably say neither my photos, nor the ones on this website due justice to the beauty of this location.

The views are surreal with constant entertainment of life going on in Manarola. Easy access from train station. Lorella was very helpful with any questions we had.

Two weeks of perfection
We just finished a wonderful two week stay in this beautiful villa. There were 4 of us the first week, and 5 of us the second week. There are not enough adjectives to describe this wonderful place. Lorella has done a fantastic job of describing her property, and it was exactly as we expected. The property was clean, and well appointed, and Lorella was available by email to answer any questions we had as the week went on. We loved spending time on the balconies just watching the activity in the harbor, the sunsets, and the few storms move in and out. We had intended to cook some of our meals, but in reality, we just ate out or got takeout from the shops in town. The hike up and down the hill put us in great shape for all the other hikes we did while in the Cinque Terre. There are many good eating places.......we were a little disappointed with Billy's as it had come highly recommended by many, but we found it to be average..........We loved Porticciolo and had 2 fantastic meals there.......we also tried all the morning spots for our cappuccino and brioche. Our favorite spot was Nessun Dorma - we loved taking the Pesto Course there, and getting a spritz and snacks in the afternoon - Simone was a delightful instructor. It was fun to sit outside while sipping cappuccino and watch the town get ready for the day with all the deliveries and store openings. We also really enjoyed our sunset cruise with Daniele. Another great experience was the Olive Oil Tasting Course at Olivium.
The al fresco shower in the laundry room was a delight. I really can't think of a thing that needs to be changed. The property is very good value for the dollar, and we recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great Italian experience. We love hiking, and found this to be a great base for that. We would leave town mid morning before it got too crowded, spend the better part of the day on the trails, then return in the evening when the crowds were dying down. Manarola is one of the more quiet towns, so most evenings it was very peaceful.
Thank you Lorella for a marvelous stay in a wonderful villa!

A Very Special Villa in Manarola, Cinque Terre
Amazing! That would be the word I'd choose if only given the space for one word to describe my recent stay at this beautiful villa. Between the location (prime spot overlooking the harbor of Manarola, Cinque Terre), the house design (built by the great grandfather of the lovely current owner, yet as up-to-date as if designed recently) and the charming village (a personal favorite of the five), I couldn't be happier to provide a glowing review.
This was a 50th Birthday celebration. Having invited five friends to join me, I had hoped the setting would provide the backdrop I wanted in order to thank my friends for being in my corner over the many years. It surpassed my expectations in every way. In fact, my friends have since said it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience they will never forget. I agree.
Our host was always available through the process of renting/planning/staying at her beautiful home. The house is clearly well-managed and looked after. All the modern necessities are on hand: Wifi, dishwasher, washing machine w/ clothes line, plenty of outdoor seating areas and lounge chairs, four terraces and so on make this a great choice for anyone wanting to experience this beautiful setting, while enjoying the creature comforts of home.
Again, a beatufil villa in a charming town with a lovely host. Amazing!

Wow!
We were very excited about coming to Manarola and we were not disappointed. What an amazing place! We met Lorella who showed us round her beautiful house. She explained everything very clearly to us which was very helpful. We fell in love with the place. Fantastic situation overlooking the Ligurian Sea. Some spectacular sunsets! The house was full of interesting memorabilia and the Bougainville was quite beautiful. Only slightly disappointing thing was one of the bedrooms was only accessed by going through another bedroom which meant if you needed to get up in the night then you had to go through the other couples' room. However it didn't cause too much of a problem to us. We had an absolutely fantastic holiday in a truly magical part of the world. We were extremely fit by the end of the week. One of the best memories was swimming in the sea every morning before all the tourists arrived on the ferries. We enjoyed every moment in Manarola!!

Spectacular villa overlooking the see
Beautiful villa overlooking the sea was a perfect vacation destination. The kitchen was fully equipped and met all our needs. Lorella, our hostess and owner, was so helpful providing local information from train schedules, boat schedules and city information. The house was very clean and provided all our necessities to include beach towels. The extra touches as cold water upon our arrival, cart for shopping and list of best restaurants and gelato! The kumquat and lemon trees were a pleasant treat. Daily, while drinking our morning coffee, planning our adventures, we sat on the terrace overlooking the harbor. Total tranquility with a morning breeze, and a view of Corniglia and Monterosso. We stayed 2 weeks, and could have stayed a month easily, so much to see and do in Cinque Terre. We visited all 5 terres, hiked the trails, visited wineyards with delicious wine tasting, swimming in the blue clear harbor and enjoyed meeting the friendly locals in our daily activities. At the end of our day, we would enjoy sipping wine on the 3rd floor terrace, surrounded with blooming flowers and watching the gorgeous sunset followed by the village lights or the fishing boats heading out for anchovy fishing. Manarola has great restaurants offering pizza, pasta, local daily caught fish and wonderful local wines and beer, with tasty desserts and limoncello. Cinque Terre offers something for everyone, be it singles, family, couples, young and old. We highly recommend this beautiful, perfectly located villa and are already planning our return. Thank you, Lorella for an absolute dream vacation. We look forward to returning and staying in your spectacular villa.

Superb experience
A superb experience to stay in this dream-like location, overlooking the harbour and beyond, with constantly changing light and dark throughout the day, waves breaking on the rocks below, clouds rolling over the hills, gulls dive-bombing into the ocean and a view from Corniglia to Monterosso. Easy access to the rail line connects you with all of the towns in the Cinque Terre. The Town of Manarola is tiny, with only basic amenities. But there are enough good restaurants and provision stores to survive comfortably.
The house is old, but comfortable, tastefully designed and functional. The kitchen is a bit cramped but well stocked. Needs a hot water jug. The two bedrooms on the middle floor are connected so you need to pass through the room with two single beds to gain access to the room with double bed. The bedroom below is a self-contained apartment with large sitting area outside.
Wifi was an issue: it comes via a repeater from another house. The repeater was defective and needed to be restarted daily by long-pressing the power button. Signal only reached the top floor. Ideally, the house would have its own source of wifi and a repeater on each floor to give access throughout the house. This would not require a large financial outlay. In the meantime, a sim card with 2 gb data for 30 euros at Milan airport will meet most modest requirements.
I would urge against rushing through the Cinque Terre like so many head of bovine tourists. Appreciate the town in the early morning and the evening when it's quiet and secluded. Discover the almost deserted walks off the main paths. This is a very special place. Stay a week and soak it up.

Best in Cinque Terre
Wow is the first thought that comes to mind, followed by amazing, unforgettable, and perfect. If possible, this property is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. The view from any of the four balconies will be imprinted in my mind for a long time to come, and the sunset from the garden level on our final night was a true masterpiece of nature. Lorella was very responsive to all email requests, and met us at the villa for an overview and introduction to the property. From there on out, every need we had as two couples was perfectly accommodated by the villa. The kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to prepare an in house breakfast and dinner. The living room is somewhat narrow, but just throw open the balcony doors, and everything is ok. Internet was efficient.
The location is on the cliffside top of the village, and an uphill climb from the train station...but well worth every step for the amazing views. Yeah, I'm biased, but Manarola turned out to be my favorite village of the 5. Plenty of restaurants and groceries/coops were open for dining and personal needs . Even though the Blue coastal trails are closed in and out of Manarola, there are still plenty of opportunities to hike in the five villages. We did a hike from Manarola to Corniglia, and another from Monterosso to Vernazza.
Overall, the Cinque Terre is a beautiful destination, and I can not imagine there is a finer place than Manarola and Lorella's villa. I would recommend this to anyone.
