Location
Smelled damp, noisy, old decor
3.2
Nothing
Cramped tacky uncomfortable
Devoid of staff.
3.2
Clean and good location
Needs a new bed. More basic than deluxe.
3.2
The location was perfect.
The shower tap was broken and kept falling off, the shower cubicle was moldy and the toilet holder broken. The fitted sheet did not fit as was too small.
3.2
Great location and reasonably priced. Easy enough to park nearby.
Room was clean and comfortable but decor could do with a little modernisation. Need to be able to negotiate stairs.
3.2
it was convenient and quite light, really helpful with luggage arrangements
It was quite shabby, the shower tray had discolouration at the base, the shower head was faulty, it was cramped especially as one edge of the bed was by a half wall and a sink, only 2 tea bags seems a bit mean. A lot of disturbance from street noise and other guests
3.2
location, only room available on date required.
no parking, no other parking eg paid public available locally all day - you need to park at park and ride if you need more than 4 hours before 6pm. poor towels, basic for price
3.2
Wallpaper blistered everywhere, window didn't shut properly, bedroom door lock didn't work properly, no water came out of hot tap in basin, bedding was shabby, toilet difficult to flush, shower support bar fell off and water only lukewarm
3.2
location was ideal
no tv

Location was right where we needed it, as we were performing at The Flavel Arts Centre right behind the accommodation.
I have refrained from leaving a review for 3 weeks to give the owners time to respond and refund me, but that hasn't happened and Booking.com have not resolved the issue. The boiler wasn't working and there was no heating in any of the rooms. it was damp feeling and extremely cold in the afternoon when we checked in. By the evening, it was clear we could not sleep in the rooms due to the temperature and informed the the owners who apologised due to faulty boiler. The owners then cancelled the booking. I booked accommodation for the night (3 rooms) elsewhere. I Assumed by them cancelling the booking and acknowledging the issue was their problem I would be refunded. I was not. I would not book here again, and would advise you not to either.

Facilities

general state of the rooms poor and the window was hanging off its hinges and couldn't be closed. Noisy area. No staff on site, no help available to make a complaint
3.2
Clean and plenty in room
No tv in room just a i pad I didn't even use no breakfast included
3.2
it was in a good location.
there wasn’t much to particularly like or dislike.

The information regarding check in and keybox was good. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The tea and coffee facilities were excellent, nice to see real coffee and cafetiere and hot chocolate.
I'm confused about breakfast. I assumed, at this price, it was included and reading other reviews they had a voucher for a nearby cafe. I had no information about this. They say they supply earplugs for the seagull noise but there were no staff to ask, also quite noisy in the morning in general. Parking is an issue in Dartmouth, I managed to find the last space available but I was lucky. Thought a brasserie would have food available but it was closed on a Saturday evening?
The decor is very tired, the floor creaks a lot so you can hear everybody walking around. The towels could do with replacement.
No tv, just an ipad with a bracket on the wall to mount it, if you have binoculars you may see it. The iplayer app supplied needed updating with a password so couldn't watch that as no staff about.
3.2
Pleasant room, comfy bed, excellent central location. Lots of tea, coffee, ground coffee, hot chocolate, 2 lovely little cakes, with an honesty box for further drinks and snacks if needed. Although the owners are not there, they respond immediately to a message. Park and Ride - can pay for more than one day when you arrive if you use RingGo.
I would have liked a little television on the wall, I didn't know how to work the ipad and it was very small. But it didn't really matter as I had my phone and wasn't in much. Noisy plumbing - perhaps to be expected in old building.
3.2
nothing
no face to face meeting, poor communication, rooms need upgrading, safety concerns
3.2
The bed was comfy, the images online represent the rooms very well. The reviews we read before had lowered our expectations, so we were pleasantly surprised, we found the room, spacious and comfortable, location perfect and instructions simple to follow.
The pillows could do with replacing, felt quite old a bit hard and bulky. a tablet instead of a TV is not a good replacement, but if a faff logging into each channel so didn’t bother using it.
3.2
central location
dated, depressing, no TV
3.2
Very cute.
3.2
never seen any staff, room awful cheap furniture, woodchip wallpaper looked so old and dull,no TV or pictures on the walls.Booked in for two nights decided one was enough ,went back to pick up our luggage about 4.30pm bed still not made. One night was one night too many
every thing and more metioned above.Key left in a box where we had to put in a code that was sent 1hr before we arrived.Ground floor is a Cafe that was closed up.
3.2
We were staying 1 night for our anniversary and going for a meal. So the location was great
You could hear the other couples in the other rooms. But the building is very old so I don't think much could be done about that . It would be good if there was a mirror in the bathroom as the sink area was too dark for a lady to put on their makeup.
3.2
Liked the quirky room. Correspondence and key/entry instructions were very clear
The towels were awful! No TV in the room, told there was an ipad instead. Not an ipad and couldn’t watch live TV (6 nations) on it. Very very noisy outside (not your fault I appreciate, but maybe double glazing would help?). Also can hear everything from upstairs
3.2
nice and warm, lovely part of the area and very central. clean room, had everything we needed
the walls are thin and you can hear the other rooms conversations
3.2
Location and price excellent
Nothing
3.2
Nice little touches in the room
Good size room
Lovely and warm
Sink didn't feel particularly clean
Pillows were really hard
Door lets in a lot of light from hallway during night & you could hear every movement from guests staying in the other rooms, which was really off-putting
3.2
Location was good
Tired, dirty and in dire need of a coat of paint.
Pitty the CH was switched off at night - even in February!!
