The location of the property was good,
The property was very cramped for 4 adults a teenager and young boy . We were expecting a patio area where we could sit but found it belonged to a (very unfriendly)neighbour. However we took our grandsons to the park next door. We cleaned the shower curtain on arrival as lt had mildew on the bottom, also had to clean the washing machine before we could use it . Overall we felt that the standard could have been higher considering the amount of money we paid...i dont mean this as a criticism, i just feel that i needed to be honest.

The Nook is a wonderful home for holidays. It is well situated in the beautiful Peak District. Tideswell is a nice town with a co-op, a very good bakery and possibilities for having meals in the evening.
The cottage is well equipped, the communication with Caroline was very friendly and she answers very quickly.
We had a wonderful holiday.

Lovely little property in a great location for gorgeous walks in the Peak District.

We had a wonderful time, myself 3 teens and our dog. Didnt realise the courtyard wasnt enclosed but just meant we had to keep hold of the dog . Great base to explore the area. Lovely fish & chips from opposite the church.
A lovely stay.c

I was really impressed with this cottage, it was more spacious than expected and it had everything I needed. I came to Tideswell for a writing retreat and it was so lovely and peaceful with beautiful walks and great pubs. I highly recommend the Nook and would definitely go back.

The property has all facilities we needed and worked well as a base to explore the village and wider area.

Nicely decorated and furnished cottage. Loads of utensils and cookware in the kitchen.
Road a little busy during the day with large lorries and farm vehicles but doesn’t impact on the cosy cottage environment.

We had a really lovely time at the cottage, which was perfectly equipped for all our needs and perfectly located. Communication and check-in was very straightforward. Many thanks

We stayed during a very cold week, but the cottage warmed up nicely! Well located near some famous walks and beauty spots. The owner was very helpful and prompt with replies to any queries. Recommended.

This cottage had everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. Like going from home to home. When I needed to contact the owner she responded very promptly. Directions and instructions on getting in the cottage were clear and sent in a timely manor. Cottage was clean and well maintained will definitely be returning.

Everything you need is right there. Both in the property and in the surrounding areas. Go out the front door and turn right, there are 4 pubs all well great good and dog friendly. Brilliant chippy (Elliotts) and cafes, co op etc but it is still a beautiful sleepy village with a lovely church and all in walking distance. The nearest trail (that we found) is 1.2 miles drive heading out past the post office. Look for signs for picnic area. Great to let the dog run free. The cottage has everything you need and is really well presented. We would definitely return. Many thanks Chris and Karen

lovely little cottage, says it can accommodate 6, however living area and kitchen would definitely be a squeeze for 6.
Bathroom is very small and although adequate again not big enough for 6 people, and has no extractor fan.
Has everything you need. however kitchen is lacking a decent bottle opener, bedding could do with an upgrade, bobbled due to use and washing. Beds are too soft for our liking however they are adequate.
Only one key for each door and not up to fire precautions for exiting.
All that being said lovely cottage and had a great break.

Had a great time, only stayed a couple of days but packed a lot in. Wanted to show the boys the delights of the Derbyshire Dales. Poole's Cavern was a hit as were the hills above Abney. Rowsley Station was interesting even though we just missed the last train. Cottage had every thing we needed, well situated.

The road was very busy my daughter had her wing mirror broken off. It was hard to stop the dog going upstairs as there was no stair gate but we did keep all doors closed. Very nice cottage though

A lovely cottage. Really close to the centre of the village so perfect for accessing local shops and restaurants. Lots of lovely walks and things to do on the doorstep.

Perfect location and cosy and lovely cottage
Excellent communications from our host Caroline from the moment I made the booking and when I needed an extra day Caroline quickly confirmed. She made me feel so at ease that I knew this was going to be a great stay for my trip. Instructions to get to the cottage and self check in were clear. Thank you so much Caroline ☺️

Lovely cottage
We had a great week in the peaks staying at the nook. Great location, beautiful local walks and plenty to see and do.

Great cottage in a good location. Plenty of pubs to eat out in an all dog friendly. The cottage itself is lovely and clean and quite comfortable. Says it's dog friendly but there are a rules which were not in the description of the cottage, which made me feel a bit anxious and had to tell my dog off a lot to keep her off the furniture, also the rule not to let the dog upstairs was difficult. When we have stayed at "Dog friendly" before we have never had these rules. Perhaps don't state that it's dog friendly when it's not. No garden either!

Cosy
Cosy and perfectly situated for amenities in the village and for visiting popular spots around the Peak District. Warm with all the facilities you need for a short stay. Right by a park and sports fields so great for getting the kids outside.

Great location - lovely and warm .
The cottage was lovely - amazing location as pubs and shops very close - however don’t make the mistake we made as had assumed there was a little patio for the dogs, but the back door leads to a shared area with Neighbours which is not enclosed (we did feel this should have been made known) also the park next door has a big sign saying no dogs allowed .

Family get together.
Very nice cottage in a convenient location. We were able to get together with family in Sheffield.
The Monsal Trail and the area around Castletown are very easy to reach.
Thanks Caroline for sorting out the email problem.

We had a lovely week in The Nook over Christmas 2021. The house is bigger than the online pictures suggest: three generous sized bedrooms, a good family-sized dining table in the kitchen, and decent floor space for Christmas present building in the living room. Televisions upstairs kept our teenager happy, and the wood burning stove made for some beautiful evenings on the sofas. The dog and I enjoyed several beautiful walks right from the cottage (heading west, out of the village past the post office, takes you to the Monsal trail and a network of footpaths along the River Wye, with some really impressive limestone landscapes; but great routes in all directions too), the toddler enjoyed the playpark right next to the cottage, and all of us enjoyed exploring Tideswell - a maze of old streets, going back to the 1600s. A really good week in all ways. The owner was really communicative and really kind, and even decorated the cottage for Christmas for us. A real gem of a person, and of a cottage too.

Lovely warm cottage in excellent location
Great communications with the property owner. Lovely warm property (didn’t need the basket of logs provided!) Fabulous location next to the play park for families and 5 minutes if that from the centre.
Only grouch is we didn’t have our Tesco order til the evening and there was no milk for a brew, but tea bags and all other condiments provided including washing machine and dishwasher tablets.

Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District
The cottage was perfect for our stay. It had everything you needed and parking outside was easy. Close walking distance to multiple pubs, shops, cafes made it ideal for not having to travel far after a long day of walking.

Property as described. Parking outside was a little busy when we arrived on the Saturday - but think this was due to a wedding taking place in the village. Easily parked the rest of the week on the road outside. The Nook had all we needed and we didn’t find the church bells or road noisy.
Excellent central location with great walks and places to visit. Our favourites were cheedale, hathersage and padley gorge - look on Peak District kids website for great walks that aren’t too far.
Pubs served great food - The Anchor, George and horse and Jockey.
A brilliant first trip to the Peak District - we will be back.
