About this apartment rental
Nice apartment. Trailside. Separate entry/parking. Great views - watch the auroras. Quiet & secluded yet close to town. A good to place to relax after a hard day's play! Safe place for children and pets to play. Backs to a park. The Alaska dream!
The apartment is in a very nice neighborhood of Anchorage - Stuckagain Heights. Houses are spread out (1 acre lots) and the area is treed. It has 360 degree views of the inlet, Denali, city lights and mountains. You can see Denali from the upper deck; this is where the photo of Denali Peak was taken.
To reach the property, turn off Tudor (a main artery) onto Campbell Strip Rd by the Botanical Gardens, and travel 4 miles through the forested Far West Bicentennial Park to the secluded neighborhood. There are no cross roads - only trailheads. It is a beautiful drive - yet still in Anchorage! Easy access to all Anchorage, and Alaska has to offer!
The apartment is 1350 square feet, with two rooms. The bedroom has a king size bed, tv, dressers, desk, night stands and large closet. The large 'great room' has a desk, full kitchen with breakfast bar, filtered water/ice from the full side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove and pantry. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking (e.g., pots, pans, bake ware, coffee pot, silverware, dishes, blender, mixer, crockpot, etc.). There is kitchen table, couch, loveseat, chair, queen size sofa sleeper, desk, large tv, breakfast bar stools and fireplace. An additional full-size bed can be added, if needed. There is a full-sized washer & dryer and 3/4 bathroom (shower). Dish tv and internet is provided. There is also a large walk-in closet off the living room. All linens are included as are shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body soap, lotion, laundry soap, dryer sheets, and dishwasher/dishwashing soap.
The guests have their own patio with patio furniture and gas grill, and access to the back yard - hike, cross country ski and ride bikes from the property. There are many trailheads along the road and the military lands are available to hike on, however a pass is needed. These trails do not get the use other Anchorage trails do - most of the times you will not see anyone else.
Please remember that there are bear, moose, lynx and other wildlife in the area.

My husband and I thoroughly loved the roominess, all the little details of home were available and plentiful. The Host Ronni was great and she's on site. The location is not for everyone (a little off the beaten path) but not that far out from amenties. The views from the upper deck cannot be beat. Her puppy was great entertainment! Only thing that needs addressing is perhaps some new furniture (one broken piece) but everything else was fantastic!
We would like to Thank Ronni for a wonderful experience and memories!

This property was just what we were looking for. It was very clean inside. Outside the patio and walkway we're a bit obstructed by overgrown bushes. The livingroom couch was damaged by a previous renter and we were told they didn't have time to replace it. Also the blinds over the patio door were broken and the patio door was cracked. These things didn't take away from what we felt was a really good choice for us. The hosts were wonderful. They live above the rental but we never heard them. They left for a vacation and at that point their dog barked constantly starting at about 4:00AM. That wasn't ideal. Good thing it was our last day there.

It was easy to get to and from the house from everywhere we wanted to visit, was located in a quiet neighborhood, snd had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Basher Apartment. It was extremely clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything that we needed for our occasional cooking needs.
Pictures really don’t show just how spacious the unit is. Communications with Sean and Ronni were always quick and accurate. We hope to stay with them again on a future trip to the beautiful state of Alaska!

My husband and I enjoyed staying here while visiting our son and future daughter-in-law and beautiful Alaska. Ronni and Shawn are great hosts.

Ronnie and Shaun were exceptional hosts. They met us on arrival, showed us all the kitchen stocked items which included everything one would need to cook. The property includes a washer/dryer to help for for longer stays. It’s a large place with big living room, kitchen, and bedroom. The location was in the foothills around anchorage with beautiful views and plants, trees and flowers. We hope to return and stay with them. Stay here - you will love the owners and the experience!

We enjoyed staying in this apartment. It is spacious and is located in a quiet neighborhood outside of Anchorage. We had several day trips planned. It was so nice to have a comfortable place to relax in the evenings. Thanks for the stay.

Good Home Base
This is a good home base for all the activities you’re probably going to do. It’s no frills, but clean and comfortable, sleep, eat, and shower there and go out and enjoy Alaska. Neighborhood is quiet and easy to find.

We stayed for 2 weeks to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It was wonderful!
Kitchen is well appointed, living room furniture very comfy, king sized bed heavenly.
It is on the outskirts of Anchorage so very quiet but an easy drive into town.
There are no views from the unit itself as it is on the lower level but pop upstairs to the deck- spectacular! Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Nice home, friendly people. The only thing was the check in, could have been more stream line and with a key pad.

This was the perfect blend of hidden away and close to town. We will absolutely stay with them again, and perhaps they will come see us in Hawaii

The layout of the apartment was excellent, it enabled my husband and I to work east coast hours without interrupting each other. We loved having the laundry and the grill for our nightly cookouts. We were able to access lots of hiking trails around the Anchorage/Eagle River area during the week. The area has lots of wildlife and in September the colors were just beautiful! The owners were excellent, we loved having the opportunity to visit with the dogs. We were able to access alot of Alaska from this home, Denali - Fairbanks, Seward, Whitier, Homer, Juneau, Katmai, etc.

The place had everything you need for a great restful stay, Ronnie and Sean are awesome hosts. They are outside of the city in a wonderful area, but close to anywhere you want to go. The place is clean and well cared for, Ronnie and Sean take pride in giving you a wonderful experience. Upon checking in, Ronnie told us about the bear and the moose who come around on a regular basis, she has been coming for years and Ronnie named her Matilda. Our last morning as we were getting ready to leave, Matilda stopped by to graze for breakfast. We got great pictures and Matilda even came close to check us out, we did have a 6 ft fence between us, but that is a close as you can possibly get to wildlife and be safe, a lifetime memory. Stay hear while visiting Anchorage, maybe you will get to meet Matilda.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at this property. Literally everything we could have needed for our family of 4. The home is in a beautiful area, close to the city yet surrounded by nature and wildlife. Ronni and Shawn are wonderful hosts and shared some great recommendations. Highly recommend this property.

We stayed at this property for 5 nights. We were looking for a centrally located apartment that would give us lots of room to spread out for the length of our stay. We had planned to take a number of day trips about 1-2 hours away so the location was ideal. Loved the amount of space - bedroom, kitchen, couch/TV viewing area. Perfect. After a long day it felt very good to come back to this apartment. The washer/dryer came in handy. We also used the outdoor grill a couple of times (however the propane ran out so I would suggest checking levels before your next guest arrives). We were disappointed in the outdoor space, specifically the view. The deck itself and the table/seating were very good. We enjoyed sitting outside each night with wine/food. But we were under the impression we would have a view of the backyard with hopes of watching wildlife emerging from the trees. Instead, there is a high fence that wraps around the apartment space blocking any such view. Driving through the park each day was pleasant. We were close to Fred Myers and Carrs Groceries. Downtown Anchorage was about 15-20 minutes by car. We would recommend this location if you need a "base" to launch off of for your daily activities. Good location to downtown Anchorage, Turnagain Arm, Hatcher Pass, Palmer, Portage.

Ronnie and Shawn were GREAT. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived.
They were super helpful and even went above and beyond to make sure the stay was accommodating for my mother who uses a walker. They made sure all our needs were met and that our stay was comfortable.
The view from the uper deck is breathtaking and the drive up and down the mountain was wonderful, full of wildlife. It was more then we had expected.
I go to Alaska each year to visit family and this will definitely be where I book for my visits.

Excellent views secluded
Very nice place. Very secluded with great views and wildlife close by! Ronnie was very helpful with places to eat and things to do. Like having own house in a mountain. First evening there showed where everything was how to get to deck upstairs so could see views. Shared some home smoked fresh salmon with us and it was so delicious! We will definitely be staying again. Very quiet area low traffic and plenty of places to walk and take in nature. We really enjoyed our time here. Thanks for everything Ronnie!

Alaska apartment in Basher neighborhood
We enjoyed our stay. The apartment had everything we needed. Communication was a little bad at the beginning, but it all worked out.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. You will fall in love with their two dogs. Most amenities are within a ten minute drive.

Good place to use as a home base.
I would stay here again. My wife and I spent a month at this VRBO. Having a large kitchen, full size washer dryer and king size bed made our stay easier and more comfortable. The WIFI was incredibly fast letting us contact friends in the lower 48 nearly instantaneously. Their large dog, Kodiak, was extremely friendly and quiet. The drive into Anchorage was simple and led to easy access to the roads leading north to Denali and other towns of interest and south to Whittier, Seward, and Homer. Ronni and Shawn were excellent hosts.

Spacious apartment in the park
Nice, spacious apartment that feels like you’re inside the far north bicentennial park. It’s a several mile drive through the park to get to the home—making it perfect to stop for a hike, or just search for moose and bear during the drive (we saw both!) The apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable and spacious. We had our own fenced in section of the lawn (perfect for our dog) and the entire apartment was carpeted (perfect for our infant). Ronnie was so accommodating and even provided a high chair and crib for our little one. Ronnie offered so many helpful suggestions regarding things to do as well as any other random questions we had about the area—very sweet lady! Of course we also loved Kodiak and Tilly, too!
