Great hotel for a fair price. Really nice and helpful staff. Good location close to a train station and not far from the bamboo forest. The room was really clean and big with a spacious bathroom and shower. I would always choose this hotel again for a stay in Kyoto.

Overall it was a nice hotel to stay. Feels very homey and cozy and close to the Saga-Arashimaya station. A 15 mins walk to the Bamboo Forest, etc. Lawson Convenience store was just a 5 min walk away.
Special mention to the staff members especially Thin who assisted us in all possible way.
Love the breakfast but would be great to have a change in the daily bento.

The hotel room was beautiful, it was a perfect fusion of Japanese style with luxury boutique hotel... This places comes in very high as one of my favorite hotel rooms in the world, the photos looked great but don't do the room itself justice.
My partner and i found it to be very special and relaxing place to stay, having come straight from the madness of Tokyo, it was wonderfully peaceful and relaxing and the bed was huge.
The room has a walk in closet (which for Japan was great) so you could store your suitcases away from view and plenty of space to hang and lay out your clothes and an ironing board. The bathroom was large and luxurious, twin sinks and a glass door leading into a full wet room with a bath and separate shower (it was difficult to get out from underneath the shower it was so good). The room had a coffee machine and mini bar, a couple of chairs and a table and plenty of space in and around the bedroom itself.
The staff were so welcoming and so very kind and our room even had its own little Karesansui (stone garden) outside the sliding patio doors and some lovely complimentary jewelry and origami as a memento. The staff noticed that it was my partners birthday while we were there and treated her to some bubbles and a birthday card... fantastic surprise. The hotel and the staff genuinely made a huge impression on both of us and have remained one of our many memories of our wonderful time in Japan.
Tip; If you do decide to stay there and you arrive at the station, leave through the North exit and walk straight down the road (a few minutes - short walk), turn left and it's on the left... don't even consider a taxi.
Nothing that i can think of that the hotel could change.
If your looking for a bustling night life or a sweeping view from your window, then this isn't really the place for you, We went off season so the town itself is very quiet that time of year. we found eating out locally very tricky and the hotel does not have a restaurant. However, the train station is within a 3-4 minute walk and you only have to a couple of stops to find somewhere busier with places to eat and drink.
If your looking for something special, beautiful decor, relaxing, calm and romantic, then this is the place.
