Gather your family and friends for an authentic Maine vacation to remember. This gorgeous country home, filled with art, books, and games, sits on a very private 1,000+ feet of dramatic ocean frontage, surrounded by fields and forest. Three spacious suites, all with water views, provide the flexibility to accommodate an extended family or up to three couples. Our guests tell us they love the private spaces combined with large, open spaces for being together.
Sip morning coffee on a master bedroom balcony overlooking a quiet cove, lunch on a deck with a view to the Casco Bay Islands, enjoy evening cocktails on the screened-in porch, and gather around a firepit in the woods after your lobster dinner. Prepare your meals in the well-appointed kitchen with organic foods grown at Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture & the Environment, just minutes down the road. Walk down the driveway to your private entrance to Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, with its five miles of oceanfront and wooded nature trails. Our guests also tell us they love the quiet, while just minutes from restaurants and shopping.
Ready to explore farther afield? Launch your kayak, for rent nearby, and explore the rocky coastline in waters protected by nearby islands while watching for bald eagles, seals and great blue heron. It’s an easy paddle to the charming village of South Freeport where you can enjoy a seaside lunch of lobsters and clams. Return to shore and take a refreshing dip off the spacious dock.
Enjoy shopping? Just a short drive into town you’ll find spectacular shopping in Freeport’s 200+ shops and L.L. Bean’s famous flagship store (it never closes!). Portland’s Museum of Art, fine restaurants, and charming Old Port shops are only a half-hour away.
INSIDE THE HOUSE:
The expansive, sun-drenched first floor features post-and-beam design, a stone fireplace in the sunken living room, puzzle and reading nooks, and a music room with piano - all with sweeping ocean views. The dining area with seating for ten opens to the well-appointed kitchen with bar and breakfast nook, so the cooks can be in on the party. Step up to the media room with 50” flat screen TV, fireplace, and comfortable seating for that rainy-day movie, or settle at the card table for a board game. The house is full of books and art.
GROUNDS:
The grounds that surround the house provide lawns for croquet, trails through a patch of woods on the water, and several gardens including one surrounding a small stone patio on the sea with a chaise for quiet reverie or a good book. A hammock by the cove offers the same. Croquet set, ladderball and cornhole lawn games provided, as well as a selection of toys for young children. Enjoy a true Maine experience: have a campfire in oceanfront fire pit overlooking the bay.
THREE PRIVATE SUITES:
The house offers separate three suites of bedrooms and bath, perfect for three couples who want privacy, or for a family and guests. There are two cribs and single beds for children.
Suite #1: This second-floor master suite features a dramatic bedroom with sweeping ocean views on two sides and woods and field on the third, a private balcony, and walk-in closet. The grand bathroom features a jetted tub with skylights and ocean views. Down the hall is a queen bedroom and second full bathroom.
Suite #2: The third-floor suite has a queen bed and a dramatic view to the private swimming cove below. There is a large bathroom with skylight, and an adjoining room with a single bed and crib.
Suite #3: Across the house and upstairs from the media room, this charming second-floor suite under the eves in part of the house built about 1800, features a large bedroom with king size bed and cozy sitting area, two smaller bedrooms (one with a queen bed and crib, the other a single bed), and a full bath.
Caretaker lives on premises in private apartment with separate entrance and parking. Town of Freeport registration number is STRR-2022-55.

We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful home. As described, plenty of room for everyone. The most well-equipped kitchen I have experienced, and my husband and I are both professional chefs so that is saying something.
Hardly worth mentioning, but there was one issue with one of the upstairs bathrooms, there was very little water pressure in the shower, which eventually was resolved, but there also was no hot water to the shower. I am confident that this matter will be taken care of, as Jim, the caretaker, was very responsive to any issues. We are definitely going back to this property again.

The house was beautiful, welcoming, well stocked, and interesting. The views were unbelievable...the comfort of the beds and furniture was Maine cottage perfect. The walks in the woods, on the beach, and around the property were wonderful and the nearness of state park hiking trails greatly appreciated. We will return!

We are a group of 4 couples that have travelled together for over 20 years. This house was the best one we have stayed in, the location was fabulous being on the water, quiet, close enough to stores. The views are beyound words, so tranquil and calming. We spent so much time just staring from the decks, inside and the dock.
The house is so well stocked you really do not need to bring anything but your personal items. It is cozy but spacious with lots of space to be together or sit on your own.
Having the state park right there we could take walks easily. Hopefully we will return in the future.

The property is in an ideal location. You can walk to the adjacent State Park for a hike, or go down to the private dock to enjoy the view. The host was very responsive, as was the caretaker of the property. The house has all of the amenities that you need to make it feel like home. Highly recommend this property for families.

We had a fantastic multigenerational family Thanksgiving here! House is spacious, cozy and filled with wonderful books, music, games and everything you need to cook up a feast. The views are magical and the surrounding trails at Wolfe’s Neck are an added bonus.

This immaculate and spacious home in the woods was perfect for our family getaway with kids and grandkids. It was evident the owners cared about the experience as the home was well stocked with materials, games, books, appliances and more as well as clear instructions about how to use everything. This is our second time renting this property and we intend to be back next year.

Fantastic views! Enjoyed the yard and trails that lead to the fire pit. Property was very clean and had so many rooms! Kitchen had everything we needed. Baby gates and high chair were helpful with our 20-month old toddler. Can’t say enough good things about this place! We wish we’d had more time there!

Our eight day stay at Aldrich point was everything we hoped it to be. The home was perfect for six adults. We spent so much time outside in the various sitting areas and around the fire pit at night. The house is beautiful and Aldrich point is stunning. Everything you could possibly want in the kitchen is provided. It’s a perfect location for day sightseeing. The caretaker Jim DeGranpre is truly a gem. I had several conversations with him that were always productive concerning the area. Maine is a beautiful state in every direction you go. We would definitely return to this beautiful home and area and plan on doing so!

This home was lovely and the photos represented the property very well. The amount of frontage is astounding and offers many options for activities all on-site. We spent the whole week in the house and enjoyed being ‘present’! Thank you!

Wonderful property and relaxing vacation.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this property. There was ample space for all. The home is designed to provide privacy for sleeping, yet it also has wonderful common areas for reading, playing games and sharing meals. The yard is beautifully situated overlooking the water. We played yard games and swam from the dock. In the evening, we enjoyed s'mores around the firepit. The views from every angle of the home are gorgeous. I would highly recommend this property for families. We hope to return in the future.

Peaceful Retreat during Graduation Weekend
We stayed at here for our son's graduation from Bowdoin. There are so many wonderful things to say about this property. The views, the amenities, well stocked kitchen, great communication and recommendations from the owner and from the property manager, direct access to Wolf's Neck State Park...I could go on and on. We had three families ranging from ages of 19 -80 years old and there was plenty of space. We are already working on returning.

A fantastic family getaway
We had such an amazing experience renting this property to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday. It easily fit our whole family in the three suite areas. The home was very clean and beautiful. We enjoyed the two cozy sitting areas with gas fireplaces, reading at the window seat with sweeping ocean views, and hiking around the property. It was only a 15 min drive to downtown Freeport where we enjoyed the shops and restaurants. We definitely want to return!

Exceeds expectations
The beautiful property was peaceful and well maintained. The house was immaculate and the best combination of old farmhouse and modern comfort. The home was well stocked with everything one needs and the instructions were great for everything that needed them. It was very homey yet extremely spacious. We cannot wait to come back. Lots of easy access to hiking trails and the water.

Wonderful time with family
Enjoyed a wonderful week at this property. Plenty of room for family of eight including two children under 2. The beach access and dock were two of favorite places. We enjoyed morning coffee and evening drinks on the screened in porch area. Caretaker was easily available and accommodating to any of our needs. Look forward to another visit!

Amazing location and property
Our family group stayed up here in conjunction with our daughters graduation from Bowdoin college. This is a great house for large family groups and friends. There are many common areas to enjoy together - and enough to get away and be separate. The location on the ocean is beautiful with dramatic views and a nice beach and dock area. Highly recommended!

Peaceful and Gaspingly Beautiful
The combination of restful and stimulating- kayaking, lots of hiking and seriously intense culinary performance- plus clear and piny air, many places to sit and read. The house has an unusual feature as well: an extraordinary library of curated books- politics, nature, women’s studies, black literature- novels, even 19th cy children’s books! And every one of the Babar series. Excellent reference works too- so we look things up as one should! Not on a phone!! I wanted to stay and read through the collection - particularly the shelves of “books by friends”!
Everything was clean. Tasteful. Complete: all the kitchen tools and more that one could want. The ospreys were nesting and we saw a bald eagle - I could go on by I might get emotional....

Spacious, comfortable home with spectacular scenery
My extended family had a wonderful time at this spacious home. The 3 suites were a perfect fit for group of 10 with ages ranging from 8 to 65 years old! The proximity to the hiking trails and village of Freeport allowed us to find something for everyone to do. The property managers are so responsive. The kitchen was well stocked for our family meals. Can't wait to go back next year!

Peaceful Getaway
We cannot say enough about how wonderful this property was for our family trip. The home was filled with cozy character and the grounds were just stunning. We came in the fall so the leaves were changing each day and we got to enjoy the walking trails and nearby preserve. We loved the fireplace, reading nooks, homemade meals, puzzles, visiting the dock, and simply being together in such an inviting, historic, comfortable, and well-equipped home. There was plenty of space to come together and to also wander off into our own zones for quiet time and listening to the waves and birds. While there was no need to leave the property, we enjoyed the amenities in Freeport and the vicinity to Portland for a fancy meal. We hope to make this a tradition!

Vacation for Extended Family with kids
I rented this property for my immediate family as well as some extended. We ended up having 7 adults, 3 kids (2-6 yrs), and 1 infant.
The house was very nice and well-equiped for our family. There were lots of things that made the stay with children easier, including highchair, cribs, stroller, sand toys, yard toys, children's books, and more. The dividing of rooms/suites also worked well for our arrangements of multiple family units.
Two small cons:
The house wasn't quite ready at check-in time and we ended up exploring the yard for about half hour while waiting. However, I don't know the state it was left in by the previous occupant and appreciate ensuring it was clean during COVID concerns.
The beach at the property had lots of sand fleas. They were bad enough to really make it unusable for us to spend time down on the rocky beach. Not sure if this would be a seasonal or time-of-day concern of if it is always like that.

Our Stay in Maine
Aldrich Point was a beautiful oceanfront home! The online listing was accurate and almost did not do this property justice. Nestled "off the beaten path," this residence offered privacy, space, and views, that both city and suburban residents yearn for. All 10 of us at the house LOVED their time here! It truly has something for everyone - private dock for sun bathing, fishing, swimming (there is a lot of seaweed), fire pit, hammock, plenty of space for activities (we did workouts, yoga, sports, and other activities), close proximity to a beautiful park for hiking; a full kitchen for those who love to cook and bake; and a large house for overall privacy. Highly recommend!

Lovely, relaxing and fun!
Spent a long holiday celebration with family and had plenty of room for all. Great kitchen and space for a group of 7 but could fit more. Easy access to Freeport but quiet, isolated, and full of nature! Loved all of it!

Perfect location & size of property for extended family to gather for birth of a grandchild. Plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms located far enough apart for privacy with a large kitchen & dining area for meals. Views were gorgeous & enjoyed the area.

One of our best stays ever
This property is amazing. The beauty and charm are beyond reproach. water on three sides, great yard, large house with personal touches. Check in was easy as can be. Jim was amazingly responsive.
During our stay we experienced a Bomb Cyclone which was incredible. Overnight trees were down and electricity was out. Before we woke the trees were cleared from the street and electricity was out for no more than 30 seconds before the generator kicked in! They are prepared for anything.
This property is surrounded by a state park, which we hiked every day. Shopping is 10 minutes away, but you feel as though you are completely isolated. Beautiful property, beautiful owners and a perfect family get away.

A Perfect Family Vacation Spot
This was the perfect setting for the gathering of our family: my husband and I, my two married children, their spouses and their three young children ages 4,2 and 1.
Everyone had their own "domain" with the first floor providing multiple areas for everyone to gather together or nearby.
The kitchen made it possible to actually prepare a nice meal for six adults and three children and serve it in a relaxed, comfortable setting for breakfast, lunch and a couple of dinners. Dining in Portland offers many options.
The outdoor space was fantastic and the children played outside most of the day. There is access to a beach where the children could collect shells and stones and even make the up close acquaintance of a hermit crab. Bald eagles flew overhead on several occasions. The separate dock area provided direct access to the water for adult swimmers who children with flotata/ion devoices. The nearby fire pit allowed us to gather outside in the early evening for s'mores.
The Bow Street Market in Freeport just about 10 minutes away gave us excellent access to a full-service grocery store while the even closer Wolfe's Neck Farm and Farm Cafe provided an opportunity for the grandchildren to visit with the farm animals as well as a separate outdoor dining area with a menu of delicious lobster rolls, french fries, ice cream and other tasty treats including pizza from Tuesday-Thursday.
A glorious vacation! We highly recommend this beautiful place.
Heavenly!

Fabulous Property!
Wow! Pictures are great but don't do the property justice. It is amazing. Dock, 2 private beach areas, huge lawn that is beautifully kept and it wraps around the cove for spectacular views! House is lovely and so charming (especially once you read about its history) We were there in July and black flies were a serious issue because you are also surrounded by fabulous forest. Bring lots of bug spray! Older part of house is very warm in summer but house provides lots of fans. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 toddlers and had so much fun. Close to town but out in your own oasis. Hope to come back soon. We all LOVED it!!! Truly a hidden gem.

Beautiful house at perfect location
This beautiful house has everything you need for a large group. Multiple sitting area we (group of five families) didn't even get chance to use. Property locates in very private water front and is well maintained inside out. Kitchen and sitting area is so spacious with raised ceiling and skylight windows. We love rustic beams in the first floor and English country style decor as well. We would definitely come back!

Serene and peaceful
We just spent a fabulous week at Wolfe's Neck Woods. We had five couples, my two brothers and sisters-in-law and my two sisters and brothers-in-law and my husband and I. We couldn't have picked a better venue for a family reunion. The house was as advertised and was perfect for our group. The left side of the house had better rooms and bathrooms. With the owners' guidance, we had just enough group activity to go with pure relaxation at the house watching the lobster boats go by. There are nice places to eat within close proximity to the house and great outlet stores in Freeport, with L L Bean's hometown. The local grocery store, Bow Street Market was close by and great for all your shopping. The living, dining, kitchen area in the house is surrounded by windows and has plenty of gathering space and seating. Ideal set up with, screened/outdoor porch, fire pit, grill, hammock facing the bay. Walking trails. The owners, Cathy and Sam were very friendly and courteous.
We'd love to come back.

Amazing Property
We were celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary so we had a diverse group of families together for a week. The house was perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone's needs. The house had so many nice touches - several dining areas, enough bathrooms, great spaces for family members who needed to catch up on email. The views are incredible; it was lovely waking up every morning to the sun shining over the water. We got to make smores in the fire pit with the kids which was a big hit. This was a great base to explore Portland, Freeport, Boothbay and Augusta.
Our vacation was wonderful and staying on this property contributed greatly to our happy week.

Wish I could have stayed longer!
This house is absolutely incredible and is even better than the pictures show. Jackie and the team managing the property were extremely responsive ahead of our stay, which was much appreciated. A quick 30 min from Portland, the drive is worth having the seclusion and property on the water. The house is well decorated and well kept, and the rooms are quite large. There were a few nice common spaces for us to use, and they even brought a portable fire pit for our stay since the permanent fire pit they were building was still being built for the summer (there is also an easy-to-use automatic fire place in the living room). We spent most of our time out in Portland and Acadia, and we only wish we could have spent more time enjoying the house and the dock on the lake. Hope this place is available for the next visit to Maine!

Wonderful!
The place is so peaceful, we never heard a soul other than the birds. Yet you are 15 min to town- dining, shopping, etc. The views are amazing and we saw a herd of deer in the field every night. Loved the telescope to watch the birds and other wildlife. Kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable, and fireplaces worked great. Would highly recommend this place!

Amazing house and location
This house was exactly what we were looking for and more. The three separate suites are perfect for three families, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is furnished with great history and memories, but without too many of those knickknacks that you live in fear of breaking the whole time you are there. The manager and caretaker were incredibly responsive starting from the moment we expressed interest, and made the process very easy. And being next to the Bay was pretty magical for the kids and parents alike. We were there during the early Spring, and I imagine the grounds only get better and better as the weather gets warmer. But even in slightly chilly weather, we took advantage of the state park, the cute shops in Freeport, and the Bay. Cannot recommend this house more highly!!!
