Great location for our requirements. Large rooms.
Tired in need of a refurbishment. One room had a very uncomfortable bed. No breakfast facilities.

Breakfast was supposed to be included in price. We were told there was no breakfast but we could have cereal if we wanted to. Offered milk on arrival at 2pm for use next morning. No fridge in room. No refund offered.
See above. Noisy room over main road. Curtains almost falling off rails. Bathroom mirror not in front of sink. Desperately needs updating.

Plenty of parking though the car park is dark at night time and could do with being lit up better, room was a good size but could do with a coat of paint, this place could be nice with a little refresh.
The room was a good size, but considering the location is quite rural they don’t serve food on a Monday or Tuesday which when your working late isn’t good as you have to drive ten minutes down the road to eat.
The staff told us the bar stayed open until 10.30pm and when we got back at 9.40 the bar was shut and the whole place in darkness, with also no sign posting on how to get back into our rooms.
For breakfast we was offered a sausage sandwich and a cup of coffee and nothing else. We didn’t even get a second drink which was bad considering they were small cups, no tea or juice alternatives available.
Could of been a massive problem if you don’t eat meat.

Breakfast
Toilet wouldn't flush. Pointed this out to staff - they were aware of the problem and said they'd tried to fix it. Why rent out room with this problem - get it fixed or replaced first.

Fried eggs over cooked and greasy. Baked beans lukewarm.

Nothing I didn’t like, would stay here again.

Really friendly staff and a very large, comfortable room. Great breakfast included and some great walks on Hambledon Hill after breakfast. One to try out for sure
It is a bit out of the way and we struggled to find it - maybe they could give directions from A30

Nothing.

The breakfast was freshly cooked and had a nice choice. The Talbot is a lovely old pub with rooms. We had dinner when we arrived, which was reasonable priced and very nice. The staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.
The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working and the portable fan in the bedroom was very noisy. Would have preferred pump dispensers for the shower gel etc. Onion rings with the steaks would have been a nice option.

There were a few selected cereals, and orange juice.
The full breakfast was well cooked, and of good quality.
The Wi-Fi was a good connection.
Lack of communication between staff. Only one machine coffee was served at breakfast on our first morning, but on the second, a filter coffee machine was available with unlimited coffee.
There were no jams or marmalade.
The mobile phone signal was non-existent and the TV signal was extremely poor.

It was more than we would have liked to pay, but it was worth it

A characterful building in a charming English village. The bar/dining area was comfortable and our dinner and breakfast were excellent. There was adequate parking. A well lit walled garden to the rear was pleasant to enjoy drinks in the evening air. Our bedroom was a reasonable size.
We found the room ‘Hogweed’, to be very warm with a lack of through ventilation. There was a door leading onto a fire escape/balcony, but leaving this open invited visits from flies etc. There was no way of screening the doorway with the door open. The double bed was a little small for us and the mattress a bit on the soft side. The bathroom had an extractor fan that did not work, a window that could only be opened two inches and a leaky bath tap that dripped all night. The shower/bath worked well however, and there were plenty of towels and toiletries for our one night stay.

Breakfast was nice and made to order.
Shower was a little temperamental between hot and cold.

We had such a lovely stay, very friendly hosts and super accommodating with a slightly early breakfast request on the Sunday. Great atmosphere in the evening and delicious food.
Room could've done with a fan in.

I had a friendly greeting when I arrived and was shown right to my room. The room was large and comfortable, with a modern bathroom. There was a small heater I could use while I worked at the table. It was very quiet overnight even with my window open There was hot chocolate satchets as well as tea and coffee in the room, not all hotels offer hot chocolate so it was a treat along with the posh biscuits. My full English breakfast was freshly cooked and just the right size. Service was speedy which was great as I had to leave for work just after 8.00 am.
The village of Iwerne Minster was really pretty and peaceful. I met several very friendly residents as i wentvfor an evening stroll..
There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Really pleased with the warm, welcome we received from the staff and being allowed to access our room early. Room/bed (Primrose) was clean and comfortable, quite spacious, with very good tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facility. Shame there was scaffolding around the building which cut out some daylight making the room darker. Lovely heavy, lined curtains. Bathroom (toiletries and towels) was excellent. Comfortable armchairs for watching tv/reading a book. Also, a small table and chairs. Delicious cooked breakfast for myself (lovely hot coffee) and staff was happy to give my husband something different due to medical condition. Loved Jack the dog! We were given help to locate our destination the following morning as we had no sat. nav.
The reason for my "No" answer to my request for a quiet room was because the location for us was very noisy due to passing traffic on the A350 (we live on a quiet cul-de-sac) which we are not use to. The other reason for a lower mark on being a quiet room - we were in the bedroom above the bar with loud music throughout the evening and there was a lot of noise from banging of doors until approx. 11 pm. To be fair, we had been offered a different room originally which I asked to change. The reason being because the tv was attached to the wall (couldn't move the screen) in a corner and it was difficult to sit and watch due to lack of space for a chair. Even one of us sat on a bed (twin room Blackberry) was not facing square to the tv. As we were not leaving the room to go anywhere else, it was important to be able to watch the afternoon sports (Sunday) and evening viewing, Having been asked, on arrival, what time we needed breakfast, we ordered for 8 am in order to have a leisurely meal. It wasn't served until approx. 20 mins later. We needed to leave by 9 am for an event.
