Capitol Hill radiates a heady sense of geo-political significance with a small town feel. You're just a few blocks away from landmarks like the Supreme Court, U.S. Capitol, Senate and House Office Buildings, and the Library of Congress. At the same time, Hill locals have managed to instill a sense of "neighborhood." It's easy to see why the area's residents cherish their brownstones and tree-lined streets. You'll be able to run most errands on foot, not to mention walking to a variety of restaurants and cafes around Eastern Market and Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Avenues. You'll be near the 11 Smithsonian Museums along our National Mall including the Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, Sackler and Freer Galleries of African and Asian Art respectively, National Museum of American History, the National Portrait Gallery & American Art Gallery and the list goes on!

Union Station is also home to Washington’s Metro Red Line, Metro and Circulator buses, tour operators, and rental cars and bikes. Two train lines, AMTRAK and local MARC trains, also run out of the train station.

Nice place and location; needs new sofa; many extra fees associated with this rental so would be nice to rent from owners and/or property manager directly.

One of our children just bought a home in this area and will move in soon. We wanted to experience the area. We were very pleased with the whole experience.

This made a wonderful home-base as we visited family and toured the local attractions. If you like walking historic neighborhoods, it's great for that.

My wife and I spent 5 days in DC in May. Great weather. We were very pleased with the accommodation.
6.0
We chose this property based on its description, photos, previous reviews, and location close to the Capitol Building. It was convenient for sightseeing and is within walking distance of the Metro Rail and Bus routes. It has the usual appliances and amenities, including cable TV and good WiFi. The neighborhood is old brownstone buildings and very quiet, which was a plus. On the downside, the couch was uncomfortable (felt like we were sitting in a hole), as was the chair located in the living room. Similarly, the bed had dips on both sides, which was either due to the age/condition of the mattress topper, or the mattress. The topper appeared slightly soiled (body oils) and possibly not routinely cleaned. When you have been on your feet all day walking, you want to relax at the end of the day, so those issues were very disappointing. We intended to wash our clothes at the end of our trip, but decided against that after discovering that the washing machine was not clean (i.e., areas of dirt and hair accumulated over time), which caused us to question the otherwise "clean" appearance of the apartment interior. The bedroom heater worked well, but the heaters located in the front room area put out little heat. We shared our concerns with the property manager. We anticipate that those comments will be communicated to the owner and addressed for the benefit of future tenants.

We loved to property location. Easy walk to Union Station or Judiciary Square metro stations. Very quiet neighborhood. Th communication with LUXBnB was outstanding. We had some questions about a rental car and parking that steered us away from a car to all public transit, worked out well. Would recommend this property.

This Capitol Hill apartment was exactly as advertised. Comfortable, well appointed, and a great location to use as a home base when sightseeing in our nation’s capitol.
The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy for us to have breakfast in, pack lunches and even cook at home a couple of nights.
The living room area was great for relaxing after long days. Bathroom was spacious, big towels, lots of hot water and good water pressure. Being able to do a load of laundry helped as we got soaked a couple of days in the rain.
The bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows. Closet had lots of hangers and plenty of places to store clothing for our week’s stay.
Walking distance to corner store, restaurants, etc. really didn’t miss having a car. Was able to get a Whole Foods delivery for the week.
Cherry blossoms beautiful. It is wonderful to have a place to stay that you look forward to coming back to at the end of the day!

This was an absolutely amazing apartment located a few blocks behind the Supreme Court and Capital. We looked forward to returning every evening after a long day exploring DC on our feet. Everything was exactly as written, yet more. It’s places and owners like these that keep me coming back to VRBO. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could.

We had the best time staying here! Just a short walk to so many great places, and the metro station wasn’t far either if we needed to get across town. The apartment was clean, the owners were lovely, and the whole process was a breeze. They had everything we needed, and some things we didn’t even think of. (Like laundry detergent.) We’re already planning our next visit to DC, and we will definitely book here again.

This English basement property is recently refreshed and well-equipped, with a spacious kitchen and abundant electrical outlets. The area in NE Capitol is filled with attractive vintage townhouses.

Great location if you like to walk. Approx 1.3 miles to National Mall. A few restaurants within 6 blocks. Beautiful neighborhood. Bed was comfortable and kitchen well equipped and organized. This is a basement unit so some noise from above but tolerable since we were only in apartment at night. Noise from upstairs was mostly in the early am.

We enjoyed our time in this cozy basement apartment. We spent the mornings and evenings here very comfortable. The location allowed us the opportunity to visit all the local landmarks easily. We worked from the aparment everyday without issue.
Great find!!

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment was exactly what we had hoped for and matched its description. Its location allowed us to explore DC the way we wanted to. Easy walking to the Metro. We enjoyed nearby restaurants for dinner and evening drinks, 10-15 minutes walking distance. A Trader Joe's is nearby too. The neighborhood is a thriving residential area. What fun!

We could not have expected a better place to stay while visiting D.C. This unit is lovely, upgraded, and carefully furnished. It is also a pretty quiet place for the city and perfectly located-- a few blocks to transportation a short walk to local markets, eateries, and parks. I have stayed at many rentals before and this one wins the prize for the best ever!

My husband and I loved staying at your Capitol Hill apartment! Our days were busy walking around to see the sights, in the heat, in the noise. This apartment was a retreat from it all - we were both astonished at how quiet the neighborhood was. Everything we could've wanted was provided, the location was outstanding, and the art - the art! So much interesting art made this apartment all the more special. Thank you again for a wonderful stay - Ashley & John

It was very fun to stay in a well equipped one-bedroom ground level condo in a Capitol Hill Brownstone. Everything was easy to get to from there, and there were restaurants, and corner stores within a relatively easy walk.
Property manager and owner are terrific, and offered useful alternatives when our arrival was delayed.

We had a lovely stay at the chic urban classic. It's perfectly located, very convenient in all aspects of comfort, amenities and hospitality. Our hosts were very helpful but not in our business, helped us sort out parking and even recommended a local handyman to help us with our house repair aa we prepared our move into a more permanent dwelling. Thank you so much both!

I didn't realize at first the unit was in the basement, but was pleasantly surprised at the bright, cozy feel. The accommodations were perfect. We found parking on the street and used public transpiration the rest of the week. The location was very convenient, very safe, and centrally located to many things. With that said, you MUST be prepared to walk a LOT. Which we were :)
This is a busy neighborhood with lots of young professionals walking to and from apartments and dwellings. It was fun to be fully immersed in the lifestyle of a Local.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6-night stay at this little ground-level unit on The Hill. Very clean, updated, and thoughtfully appointed. All appliances worked properly, and the kitchen was nicely stocked with basic supplies. The bed was comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. Easy walking access to Metro, many restaurants and bars, corner store, and small parks nearby. A beautiful and charming neighborhood of brick sidewalks and enchanting homes, clean and safe, makes for delightful strolling any time of day or night.

Fantastic accomodations close to the Capitol and pubic transportation.
The appointment has everything you need. After a long day of visiting museums it was nice to get back and relax. The location was perfect. We could walk to the National Mall or take the dccerculator for $1. There were many good restaurants within walking distance.
