Perfect location, on a beautiful, private and quiet beach. Super close to Puerto Viejo town with loads of restaurants, super markets, bike & scooter rentals. Lovely place with gorgeous ocean views and the unit has everything we needed for our stay. We even saw a sloth right on the grounds! The gardens are also really beautiful.
Nothing! Only thing was the door didn’t lock properly but there were two safes in our room so everything was secure.

This place was amazing!!! Pure paradise! The facility was clean and quiet. The lady that lives on site was so sweet and kind. I felt safe and didn’t have worry about a thing.

perfect location, beautiful garden, comfortable bed.
it was a walk from Puerto Viejo.

The balcony overlooking Playa Negra and the location (centric).
The bathroom didn’t have a door.

Just a short stroll through the pretty garden to the beach. Safe parking. King size bed. Hammocks!
The ceiling fan needs to be upgraded to one that has multiple speeds.

We liked the beach
The floors and shower were dirty as well as the hammock. Lack of daily housekeeping- especially because of the heat, humidity and bugs.
The bedroom door was troublesome to manage because it slammed shut when our hands were full or the handle slipped.
The sofas could use throw pillows for back support.
The cat poop smells as you walk the path to enter.

location, beachfront property. We could actually listen to the sea From our room
the room smelled really badly. Moist and humidity smell everywhere, the fabrics, mattress, pillows, towels, everything. being in the room was not nice at all. it shouldn’t be rated as 4star. Even though the staff was nice and try to solve the issues emerged, I would have chosen another place to stay.

Fabien was fantastic. He picked us up after an extremely long bus ride . He gave us lots of information for taxi drivers, restaurants etc.

We moved locations within the same town so we had to check out before check in technically started at Villas Serenidad.
They not only let us store our bags, they let us check in early which was very convenient and considerate.
We were shown to our room and another person also came to give us a more detailed review.
We were also given a very detailed text with all the info we needed prior to our stay!
RISE management looks after the property and are incredibly attentive.
Anytime we had a question, it was answered promptly, professionally and in excellent English - a perk not expected but very much appreciated.
They even let us have a delayed check out and refunded a night's stay when we had to cut our vacation short unexpectedly by a day.
The grounds are beautiful and a very short walk to beautiful Playa Negra.
Also a very convenient location close to the center of Puerto Viejo.
We stayed in several places in Puerto Viejo and this was by far our favourite.
Book this place now - it will not disappoint!
Nothing! Overall a great quick and convenient check in which allowed us to get settled in and enjoy our new surroundings.
There were a couple of minor maintenance things that came up during our stay (all normal and routine things) and once mentioned they were very quick to address them to enhance our stay.
I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful Villa and the staff and management who run it!

We've loved every moment of our time at Villas Serenidad! The view from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous, I could look at it all day, and for a couple of days did! It really is a place to come a relax, enjoy the ocean and the wildlife. The villa is really well put together, has everything you need for a self catered stay. Lovely walk into town on the beach, the black sand is so unusual and beautiful! As cat lovers we loved the resident kitties, one of which we wanted to sneak away back to the UK! It really is a little paradise in Costa Rica.
Only thing we would say is if you want to cook you do need to buy everything including cooking oil or spices (no biggie but something to think of when making your shopping list)

Very easy to get to. right by the ocean, fabulous hospitality.
only complaint has nothing to do with the property. just the very short dirt road leading to the property was a tad rough

We absolutely loved Villa Serenidad. The villa is set overlooking beautiful grounds and out over the ocean. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind. You're far enough down the beach that it feels private, but close enough to walk into town. The room was wonderful with great facilities - even a smoothie maker! Fabian gave us the keys and showed us around, and was contactable when we needed him.

we rented both ocean and garden view rooms . both were very clean. the kitchen area in the garden view was larger and allowed us to cook and have meals together. loved being so close to ocean and garden.

Our villa and the grounds were beautiful. The location was perfect for our needs--we could walk to town, but we were far enough away that we felt we had our own private paradise. The beach was amazing. The bed was supremely comfortable.
There was nothing that we didn't like. Because of the pandemic, our host was unable to meet us, but she did have someone to stand in to hand off the keys, then she texted us the property information. It would have been helpful to have someone tell us where things in town were, safety of walking, things others most enjoyed in the area, but these were small. We figured things out without much trouble, and she answered texts very quickly when we got stuck.

I came early (had asked for early check-in) but the previous occupants had not checked out yet. The property manager cleaned it early and I was able to check-in at 12:30 pm, which was a huge help. I just suggest that the owners keep up with those requests and let me know earlier that I can't check in earlier so I can be prepared.

The property owner was very nice. And allowed us late check out free of charge.
In general the interior and the exterior is worth to stay in this location.

Great location with direct access to the playa Negra, beautiful view on the sea and the garden. The beach was just for us when we were here : this is the big plus in having a private access to it and being away from the center! The more we would walk direction Puerto Viejo, the more people there would be. The village is accessible by a 10min walk on the beach or a short drive at night. The house was big, well equipped and beautifully decorated. Communication was very friendly and complete. Although there were works going on while we stayed, it stayed very quiet and didn’t disturb us at all. I wish I’d be laying on the hammock listening to the waves with a drink right now!
Nothing, it was just as expected.

The accomodation has a very nice Location. Its front beach and our room had an amzing view to the sea / beach. You can take a 20 min walk along the beach to Puerto Viejo town which offers plenty of dinner options.
Honestely for this price per night we would at least expect breakfast or an AC in the room. Rooms are quite damp and hot.

Nice beach in front of the house, very comfortable bed, lots of privacy, amazing balcony with view of the beach, perfect for breakfast, nice garden in front, two comfy hammocks on the balcony.
The town of Puerto Viejo is at a 15m walk, supermarket is only 5 minutes away.
Missing cooking oil in the kitchen.
