About this house rental
This spacious, over 1800 sq ft of living space, Cape charmer includes 3 bedrooms (2 queens, 1 full, 1 twin) and 2 large decks (great for BBQs). A large living room area (20x12) connected with a formal dining area. Kitchen was completely remodeled in 2012! We also added a full bathroom on the first floor.
It's located on a peaceful residential corner with plenty of parking; driveway and street parking. The house sits on a good size lot, with two decks that you will enjoy in the quiet backyard. We added a fence in the backyard for increased privacy (2013).
When you're ready to explore the area, leave your car behind! Everything is within walking distance! Walk to Main St. where the kids can enjoy bowling, arcades, and ice cream. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to meet everyone's taste buds! Oh, let's not forget the beaches: walking distance to Veteran's, Sea St. and Kalamus Beaches. A beach parking pass is also included! If visiting the Islands is of interest, the ferries are also within walking distance!
Nearby, less than a 5 minute drive, are Hyannis Airport, and bus service to Boston and New York.
Catch a Cape Cod Baseball League game! McKeon Field, home of the Hyannis Hawks, is walking distance from the house.
We take great pride in our home and hope you will feel right at home! A few years ago we re-tiled the bathroom floor and shower and most recently reglazed the tub. We made our three-season room into a small playroom. We refinished our hardwood floors. We made the backyard bigger and more beautiful by taking out some bushes and we added some beautiful gardens. We added a fence for more privacy (2012). We repainted one of the bedrooms, the living room and tiled around our gas fireplace.
The kitchen was completely remodeled! A full bathroom was added. All plumbing has been updated and a new hot water heater was installed.
In 2019 we added a driveway for off-street parking.
Renters have loved sitting on either of our two decks. It is very quiet and relaxing!
Baby proof...: We now have children, ages 17, 14 and 9, so the house is now child-proof with gates and plug protectors. We will have some baby supplies available for renters.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay. The listing was spot on. Location was great for walking to town and the beach pass was a bonus. Definitely plan to return next summer.
Thank you Kristy and Dan for a memorable family vacation.

Checking was a breeze and our host was very responsive when needed. The location, in walking distance to Main St. Hyannis and the Harbor made for a really good home base for our Cape Cod family vacation. The kids toy room was a touch of brillance and kept our 9 year old busy. I would highly recommend this listing.

This property was great. There was plenty of room for two families with small children. The backyard was private which was great for the kids to play after a long day at the beach. The house was in an amazing location within walking distance to Main Street and plenty of restaurants. The beach pass was amazing and allowed us to visit multiple beaches. The toy room was a lifesaver with little kids and had something for everyone. Kristy was super responsive to my messages and extremely helpful! We would absolutely stay here again.

Very cute and spacious house! We loved the large living room and dining room for family meals. The little kids playroom off of the living was was wonderful with all of the toys! The house was a 5 minute drive to Kalmus beach as well as a 5 min drive to Main St. the property owners were very friendly and responsive. The only critiques are the the kids playroom needs a deep vacuum/cleaning-my son pointed out many spiders/webs, and the upstairs bedrooms could use shades to keep out the light for naps and early morning (for kids).
We would definitely stay here again! Lovely property.

Excellent location in a quiet residential neighborhood but still only a 5-10 minute walk to Main Street and the harbor.
The home itself is nicely arranged so a family could either spend time together or get some peace in one of the many rooms.
The owners were very quick to respond to questions asked through the messaging function on VRBO.
This was a great vacation and we hope to return.

This was our first trip to the Cape and this was the perfect place for us to start! House was great. Location was amazing. Walked to dinner every night, beaches were a quick 5 minute drive, lots of activities for sunny and rainy days. Highly recommend!

Location is great! 5 minute walk to Main St. 4 minute drive to Kalmus Beach, Veterans Beach and Keyes Memorial Beach and all are very nice! Love that you have a parking pass to use! The house is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked, which is great for my family because we cook most of our meals while on vacation. We had to contact the owners and got a quick response! Would definitely return!

The house was walking distance to Main st. Lots of shops, and restaurants to enjoy. The beach pass was a great way to experience the towns beaches. The back deck is where everyone gathered to enjoy morning coffee, and the cool breeze in the evening.

The house is charming outside and decorated very nicely inside. The location was just right for walking to Main Street. Being able to use the beach parking pass was a great perk. The owner was very helpful and responded promptly to questions. The street has a little more traffic than where we live so we needed to talk to our kids about running out chasing the basketball (the only reason for 4 stars on location)…but the basketball hoop in the driveway was a big hit with our kids. There is also a play area with books that my kids enjoyed. This is a very family friendly house. We would absolutely stay here again.

1. House: beautiful (pictures don't do it justice), extremely clean, well stocked. Also, the beds were not bunked in third bedroom was an added bonus. Deck was perfect for morning coffee and BBQ dinners (gas grill in yard). There is also another deck that is right outside the playroom with lots of toys for the little ones. Even my big ones had a fun game of Risk!
2. Location: It is in a quiet residential neighborhood. But, we can walk everywhere! We walked to Main St (just a couple of blocks away), the harbor, the baseball field, and Keyes Beach.
3. Beach Pass Included to all of Barnstable Beaches
4. Ease of Communication: Kristie quickly answered any of our questions or issues. Check in and check out process was super easy.
Thank you Kristie for a wonderful vacation!

The house is nice, neighborhood peaceful and quite, and only minutes from great beaches and Main Street Hyannis. Our daughters loved the playroom as well.

Close to multiple beaches and walkable to Main Street Hyannis for shopping and restaurants. House is full of toys and books - perfect for kids! Kitchen is well stocked. 2 full baths but with one downstairs (not with bedrooms) a little harder to use.

The Atwell house was perfect for our family trip to the cape. We enjoyed the backyard and deck after our morning beach adventures. Main Street was a short walk for dinner and delicious ice cream. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this house.

I stayed here with my family (4 adults, 3 kids ages 3-10) in August . The description and pictures are accurate except there is no longer a toddler bed in the second bedroom. Updated kitchen is nice. Outdoor deck for eating is great. Backyard for kids to play in. Toy room equipped with all the toys/books and more you could want- was very helpful in keeping kids occupied while in the house. Dining room for indoor meals and large sectional for the whole family in living room was great!
There were a few things that may be helpful when considering staying here:
1-House is well stocked and equipped with kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishes, cooking and pantry essentials! Beach towels and all linens provided. Beach chairs available in basement!
2-Owner Kristy is very helpful, answered all questions and gave suggestions, easily available by text.
2-upstairs second bedroom mattress and pillows are very uncomfortable.
2-Upstairs bathtub functional but would not bathe my children in it, needs to be reglazed or replaced. Ok for showers.
3-Neighborhood is ok. However walking to the ice cream shop there were several people who were down on their luck or in unfortunate situations that concerned my 8 year old. Didn't take that walk a second time for this reason.
4-signs on neighbors lawns/door describing recent crime (stolen planters) and illustrating need for alarms/camera monitoring on their houses. (owner notes LOCK CAR DOORS, do not leave valuables in car).
Don't misunderstand me, the neighborhood seems ok/ fairly safe however perhaps it's the immediate surrounding area that is the problem?
5.Make sure you understand the area of Hyannis, I was personally looking for a more "quintessential Cape Cod" picturesque small town experience. However location is great for exploring other areas of the Cape which we did and minutes from Ferry to MV or Nantucket. Also close proximity to Sandyneck beach was awesome for the kids. There are SEVERAL beaches to choose from very close by.

Just finished a stay at this lovely and amazing home! Kristy is so easy to get in touch with. My kids enjoyed all of the toys and they had everything we needed for "baby proofing". The house is super close to town and walkable to alot of places. The beach pass was perfect. We had such a great time and plan to return again in the future!

This house is great for families. The bedrooms are large, there's a large dining area, good kitchen, large yard, comfy living room, and nice deck! It's a short and easy walk to several restaurants and shops on Main St. Our group didn't have any small kids, but they'd love it, I'm sure, as there is a nice play room with plenty of toys. The owners were easy to reach and helped resolve any minor questions/issues we had quickly!

Beautiful home had everything you need for a Cape vacation, and only a few blocks from Hyannis main street.

This house is filled with toys which is great for families travelling with children. The village is a close walk but the beach is not really walkable if you have young kids.
There is a lovely back garden which mostly bit not completely fenced in.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our week at this Cape Cod house! The owner was very welcoming and responsive in the weeks leading up to our stay. The house is centrally located in Hyannis - just a short walk to Main Street, and the beach was walkable too. We appreciated how clean and tidy the house was when we arrived. The kitchen was fully stocked so we could enjoy most of our meals at the house. Only comment would be to upgrade the mattresses in the secondary bedrooms.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house itself is charming and clean, with lots of natural light and plenty of space. Highlights were the playroom, the kids books, the backyard, the back deck and the huge, comfy couch. At one point we had four children and four adults, and there was plenty of room for all of us. The location was great, too. Main St. is an easy stroll, even for the little ones. We ended up walking there most evenings for ice cream, popcorn or cupcakes. There are several nice beaches are about a mile away. Kristy is so nice and very easy to communicate with. We look forward to visiting again next summer!

We have stayed at this home several times, it is close to the beach, ferry and village with easy access to shopping. A great place to explore the Cape- central location near route 6 and 28. I would highly recommend and look forward to future stays.

This is a great home for a family! There were toys, a playroom, high chair, and pack n play for our 9 month old. There was plenty of room for 6 adults with everything you could need for a beach vacation including a beach pass. The location was in a great part of town and only 2 blocks from Main Street. Kristy answered ALL of our questions very quickly and was extremely accommodating. She also checked in on us when some unforeseen weather occurred. We will be back for sure!
