About this house rental
Welcome to our little slice of heaven. This cozy carriage house is in a great location, walking distance to both Lifts # 7 & 8 (Gondola), on a quiet back alley close to Main St, Telluride. On entering the house, you'll find a compact and tastefully decorated kitchen and living room. With hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances, the spaces blend form & function, & include a gas fireplace and SmartTV. The deck has great views of the ski area, Box Canyon and surrounding ridges, and is perfect for catching both winter and summer rays & enjoying BBQs. Downstairs is the queen bedroom, with plenty of cupboard space, and the bathroom with large steam shower. A stacked washer & dryer allows complete self-sufficiency, and underfloor heating keeps it warm in the winter. The classic full size sofa-sleeper upstairs makes this a great vacation home for singles, couples or a small family. If you are looking for a distinctive place to enjoy your time in Telluride, you've found it.
Unique: One of the few free-standing carriage houses in Telluride, this little gem is lovely and unique. Unlike condos where you have to worry about what's going on in the next unit, or the noise from people walking above you, you are completely separate from your neighbors in this compact little house. Whilst similar in price to these condos, you have more room to move around with its unique design. The deck is the icing on the cake, with a small gas grill, three stylish Adirondack chairs with cushions, plus an iron bench & cushion that allow for hours of relaxing in the sunshine, while taking in the spectacular mountains around you. If you are looking for a unique home for your time in Telluride, this is it.
Light and airy: Although it's small, the number of windows in the house gives a feeling of open space, with plenty of light and cross-breezes in the summer, and the warmth of the sun in the winter. The light wood panelling enhances that feeling of warmth, and gives you a sense of belonging for however long your stay may be. Downstairs in the bedroom, you have privacy with the up/down blind, which also allows light to filter through, so it's open and airy (and at street level, so not a basement feel). In the winter, the underfloor heating means you'll never be cold, even in the marble floor bathroom.
Location: Right near the River Trail that winds its way along the San Miguel River in and out of town, the house is located on a quiet back alley, halfway between Lifts 7 & 8 - and the free Gondola to Mountain Village. And only three blocks to the top end of town (the Court House), and all that has to offer in terms of restaurants, nightlife and day time shopping.

Property was clean and as described. Loved the deck and having windows on all sides of the main living area. Communication with Melissa was excellent. Thank you.

This was our first time in Telluride and this location was perfect. We walked everywhere- restaurants, bars, shopping and the slopes! Very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Great place only a few blocks from the gondola to telluride ski resort. Served our needs perfectly.

Overall great. A few minor glitches but the owner responded rapidly.

This truly is a little slice of heaven. Mellisa was a joy to work with throughout the entire process. Property is in a great location, with wonderful views, and a patio that is to die for. Highly recommend this unit.

Great location walkable to all restaurants in town, easy walk to the gondola. Has everything you need. Views are awesome from the deck. Lots of windows make it easy to get a cooling breeze to come through. Fantastic shower with crazy good water pressure and steam if you want it. Melissa was super easy to work with. Highly recommended!

We enjoy staying in Telluride and this property is perfectly located with easy access to the Gondola and lift 7. As well as close to bars, restaurants, wine shop and groceries. It is done up very nicely and so cozy. During our stay we ate out a couple of times but we could have been just as happy to cook in and just enjoy the house. I would highly recommend!

This unit is perfect for a couple looking for a cozy place to stay in Telluride. Kitchen is well equipped, the bed is comfortable, and the deck is delightful. I would stay there again.

My wife and I needed a much needed weekend getaway and this property did the trick. It is absolutely beautiful, and a perfect spot for 2-4 people. It was close to the gondola, and downtown! Working with Melissa was very easy, and she went above and beyond for us. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely getaway! Thank you again for making this so wonderful for us!

The carriage home was perfect for myself and my husband. It was lovely having our own space without neighbors above, below, or next door. The home was clean and the steam shower was a wonderful surprise! There was even hanging storage compartments in the bedroom closet which was nice to lay clothing in. The home is perfectly located within town near lifts, restaurants, and the grocer. My only recommendation was to include a locked storage space for snowboards where the locking rack for skis are located downstairs. Overall, staying here made our visit simply delightful, and I would recommend this rental for any couple!

Delightful lodging at the Wood property in Telluride. Located on a quiet alley, a very short walk to the Gondola or Coonskin lift (Oak Street lift, too, for all the black diamond skiers), Clark's grocery store, Siam (Thai) restaurant, Wine Mine liquor store. A tad further are many other great restaurants/bars in town. Great location! House was perfect for two: open space upstairs encompassing the kitchen/dining room/living room; downstairs has full bathroom, washer/dryer and bedroom with queen bed. Super clean. Nice decor. Great location (again). Good communication from owner. Would recommend and definitely want to return!

This property is a perfect Get-Away for two with a true cabin feel, nestled in a great location. It's close to restaurants, shops and the Gondola is just down the street too which will bring you to Mountain Village. The parking is a little tricky as it is a small town and on street parking is limited. We would recommend this property for not only a Christmas stay but an any time stay in Telluride.

The carriage house was amazing, comfy, cozy, and beautiful! It provided everything we needed and more. I loved the location. We parked the car on the street and walked everywhere we wanted to go, (gondola, restaurants, hiking trails, shopping). The kitchen has everything you need, including full size appliances. The in-floor heating, especially in the bathroom, was heavenly. The chairs on the deck are very comfortable and the view is one of the best in town. I can't wait to plan another trip to Telluride so that I can stay at this property again!

I picked this home based on the views and it did not disappoint. Perfect place for 2 to spend the a long weekend in Telluride. The kitchen was well equipped and the steam shower was awesome. We spent time each afternoon on the deck reading and relaxing. My only complaint is that there is just one small sofa in the living area. Just enough space for two. I would rent again.

Melissa’s place was perfect for my family of 4 (2 kids ages 13 and 7). We’ve been to Telluride for our family ski trip for the past three years and highly recommend both the town and this propert. My routine for the past three years(1st time at this place): head to baked in telluride for some breakfast, walk back to the place, take my youngest to the Gondola every morning to drop off at ski school, head back to the place and collect my wife and daughter and head back to gondola for a day of skiing. All made really easy and convenient with Melissa’s place and location. After a day of skiing, we’d relax at the place then wander around town and find some dinner. An awesome way to vacation, especially since the location is so good. The place is close to the Cosmo, There, and right behind Siam for sitting at the bar and having some good Thai food, and if you get tired of walking, just take the galloping goose around town. Telluride is my favorite place to go, so I suggest you try it and there is no better place to stay (or better deal) then here. Thanks for sharing your place, and thanks for the tasty wine welcome gift! We hope to be back again.

Melissa’s carriage house is a great little find. You would never know from the outside how charming it is. It is conviently located in town and situated so you can take advantage of the view. The property is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is great and fully equipped with everything you need. Three of us fit perfectly in the carriage house. Melissa is readily available and very easy to deal with. We loved it and will come back!

My husband and I loved staying at Melissa and Michael’s carriage house which is centrally located in the historic town of Telluride with beautiful views of the mountains. The home is beautifully appointed and comfortable and is on a quiet alley and is conveniently located only a short walk away from grocery stores, restaurants, shops and the gondola. The kitchen is very well appointed which we loved because we like to cook. Melissa made sure we had all the information we needed for a smooth arrival with access to get inside the carriage house easily and a parking permit readily available so that we could park our car in the neighborhood. Addditionally, Melissa and Michael left us a welcoming treat on the dinning room table as a kind gift of hospitality. We found the home to be lovely and clean with nice photos on the walls and a nice bookshelf with interesting books - you can take one and leave one as a replacement which is such a nice thing! The manual they left us had all the information in it we needed about the home complete with instructions on the use of all appliances and TV/Media (the Auvio home blue tooth was great as we were able to play our own tunes from our mobile device). They also provide a very nice full array of spa grade bathroom products (shampoo, lotion, etc) and very nice fluffy towels. The steam shower option is a very nice feature as well. This home was perfect for me and my husband and we very much enjoyed our stay. The deck has a wonderful view of the mountains and on a clear night it affords a spectacular view of the stars and the Milky Way. The carriage house has many nice windows so you can enjoy fresh air and sunshine. We look forward to coming back to Telluride and staying at Melissa and Michael’s sweet mountain home.

Great architectural design, high grade materials and finishes, top appliances, and remarkable location with walking access to a world of possibilities. Perfect place for restful, creative, or adventure getaway. We had daily, afternoon summer thunder storms, followed by refreshing walks about town and up the gondola to Mountain Village. Loved the local hikes with trailheads right in town. Excellent shopping and even better restaurants. Melissa made the experience seamless, along with a bottle of wine to welcome us, and champagne to celebrate our 36th anniversary. Thanks! We plan to return next year.

We had a great stay in the carriage house and would definitely recommend it! We were able to walk everywhere and the views from the patio were stunning. Thank you!

My husband and I were here for a few days to relax and unwind. The views from the balcony are incredible. The kitchen has everything one would need and it was great to cook a few meals for ourselves. Jen-Air gas stove, huge and impeccably clean refrigerator, and beautiful cabinetry. The lighting is warm and the table is perfect. The steam shower is a fantastic touch when it's 30 degrees outside! We walked everywhere and we're impressed at the proximity to everything. Ideal for a couples getaway in a picturesque town.
Also, the owner is super responsive, timely, and truly wants the renters to have an incredible time. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed! We will be back.

We were so pleased with everything about the carriage house. The views are incredible. The location is ideal. Close to town, but private. The Gondola is a convenient walk. The property is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is beautiful. The bathroom is equipped with a steam shower which was a great feature. We will definitely recommend to family and friends. Actually, we can't wait to return ourselves.

Highly recommended. It is located right in the middle of town, literally a block away from skiing, shopping, dining. Michael and Melissa make sure nothing is missing before you get there. It is a home away from home, really clean and so comfy, the right amount of space for a family of four, amazing views and a great location. What else could you ask for? I would come back to this place any time I am back in Telluride.

Awesome place!! The carriage house is very charming and cozy, everything is brand new inside and the views from the deck (stared at the waterfall all weekend) are exactly what we wanted. It's right in town soMelissa was extremely easy to work with and everything went without a hitch. She even left us two bottles of wine as we were celebrating a birthday and engagement. I highly recommend staying here. It's location is steps to the gondola so would be perfect for a ski trip as well. After working with Melissa this first time I hope to do it again and try her places in the Caymans and Australia one day as well.

We spent 5 weeks in the Woods carriage house with our beloved dog, Clouseau. We had visited the property the summer before, so we were familiar with it. It is well maintained. Our favorite feature was the convenience of the location. The heart of Telluride was easily accessible on foot, as were our favorite restaurants (The Chop House, Oak, 221 Oak, Baked in Tellutide). We attended several of the Chamber Music Festival Concerts and did some breathtaking hikes. We played golf on the Telluride course and in nearby Montrose and Delta. The kitchen and living area were perfect for preparing meals and enjoying the Olympics. We loved the heated floor in the bathroom! All in all, we had a great experience in the property, and would recommend it to friends and family. We look forward to staying there again!
