This accommodation has got several unique pluses. First of all, the architectural is quite striking. The house is U-shaped with open air courtyard in the middle. Two sides are glass walls, so it’s both aesthetically pleasing and provides a light airy feeling (there are auto blinds if the sun is shining in). This is complimented by a very modern kitchen with walk in pantry and bathrooms, albeit the living room and deck has furnishings from a previous era. Secondly, the elevated deck accessed from the living/dining area looks out onto a large pond (which you can walk around – I never encountered any mosquitoes). I could see ducks cruising it, while taking in the ambiance on the deck, along with Tasmanian native hens foraging in the grassy area in between and magpies in the nearby tree. The host had provided a container of oats, and you can optionally feed the later if you desire. I picked up a lamb/beef/sausage meat pack at Joe’s Grocery (also does takeaways), which is only a short walk down to the nearest intersection, and utilised the balcony BBQ. The same intersection will take you down towards the river (12 minute walk), but you won’t get all the way to the rivers edge due to the swamp grass. The third plus is that this ideal setting is only a straightforward 7 minutes drive to the CBD.

The house is amazing - the photos don’t do it justice. The rear patio overlooking the river meadows was a superb outdoor relaxation space & the local bird life joined us most evenings! Definitely recommend this house for stays exploring in & around Launceston.
If you are not used to traffic noise we suggest earplugs if you sleep in the front rooms!
Also we were slightly surprised not to find a coffee pod machine in a kitchen that is amazingly well stocked.
However these are so minor & absolutely did not detract from our visit. We would definitely stay again if we ver get back to Tasmania. Thank you Marion for sharing your gorgeous home.

Had a lovely short stay. The view from the backyard facing the duck pond was peaceful. It’s a great place to stay with a large group of people. I would be happy to stay here again. Thank you to Marion for the wonderful accommodation.
