About this house rental

Welcome to DOOR 42! Our home is located on the north side of Sister Bay right on the main drag. You and your group are just a short 1.5 mile drive down the hill and into town. Seconds away awaits a trip to the beach, park or a meal at any of Sister Bay's fine restaurants as well as coffee and ice cream shops! Our cottage is perfect for couples and families.
The house is full of Door County character and offers plenty of space for your retreat. Feel free to message me if you are interested in finding out more!

We have provided some literature for the surrounding areas including restaurants, maps, breweries etc. Hopefully they can be of some help! One of our favorite restaurants for scenery is the Boat House, Chop, and The Wickman House. Great breakfast is served at Viking Grill, Ellison Bay or Caroll’s Restaurant here in Sister Bay.

Our family stayed at this property and it worked out great. The house is set off from the street so it gives you plenty of privacy and quiet. The backyard was lovely and the kids loved to roast marshmallows. We would love to come back and stay again.

We stay in door county often. This location was great. Not to close that you hear the commotion of downtown, but close enough you can take a quick bike ride to the beach. Being close to 42 is always a concern, but as others mentioned, it’s a non issue. We enjoyed the back patio daily and never noticed any traffic noise. Each night we did the short walk down to the shore to watch the sunset. When we got back we chose one of the many board games available at the house. Kitchen has plenty of space, large laundry room great for longer stays, relaxing covered patio, outdoor eating area, and good beds and sleeping arrangements will have us coming back.

This absolute gem of a home was absolutely PERFECT for our family vacation to door county. We had 5 adults and one teenager and were very comfortable at this property! Our favorite aspects were the large kitchen/dining room, serene back deck, fire pit, and AMAZING showers! We actually loved this home so much we opted to stay in often rather than go sightseeing. We cant wait for our next stay at door 42!!

We had a wonderful time staying here. The location was very close to downtown Sister Bay, which was very convenient. The place was clean, and the check-in/check-out process was hassle-free. It offered plenty of amenities, and the air conditioning was a great bonus during the hot weather. I would recommend this place to others!

This was a nice place, good layout, lots of firewood good location. However, they did not have coffee available upon arrival and the cleaning person/owner arrived at 9:30. Thirty minutes before check out and sat in the car. It made everyone very uncomfortable at the end.

This house was great for the bachelorette party I planned with 5 other people. The place was clean, had plenty of extra towels, blankets, and pillows, and was so close to downtown Sister Bay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time at this house. Door county was new to us and the location was perfect. Just minutes from everything in town. We have three kids who enjoyed the kids room with bunk beds. There was plenty of space and we enjoyed the firepit outside.

This was the second year we stayed in Door 42 for our vacation. We really enjoy the large house and beautiful setting. It's close to the beach and lots of great restaurants too. We hope to come back again.

We really enjoyed this home - it was perfect for our family vacation. The house was spotless, really comfortable (we loved the open floor plan!) and had a beautiful yard! It was just a short drive to down town sister bay which made it that much more comfortable! We loved our stay and our hosts were incredibly nice and easy to communicate with! Wine will definitely come back here again!

Perfect house for a family getaway. Five adults and two kids, plenty of room for everyone. Location is great. Communication with the hosts was prompt and pleasant. So much to do. Enjoyed the evenings around the fire pit and playing games around the kitchen table. Would definitely rent this house again if we were to return to Door County

We stayed here at the end of June 2023. The house is nicely located near Sister Bay, but also short driving distance to Ellison Bay. The house is very well decorated in door county theme that made you feel that you were in the heart of door county, The house is very well stocked in terms of having the basic necessities for a trip. Everything was well taken care of. The owner was very responsive when we had questions. Overall I would recommend this for anyone wanting to visit door county and be near Sister Bay and northern door county.

We really enjoyed our time at Door 42! The location was great - close to everything we wanted to do. The house is directly off the main road, but set back a ways, so the traffic noise was a non-issue. Our kids loved the bunk beds and got into the games in the closet right away. All the essentials were easy to find and when we had a semi-urgent question, the owners were extremely responsive. We had a great weekend in Door County.

We enjoyed our weekend at this clean and beautiful home. It was great to have a fully furnished kitchen and space for everyone. Just wish we had more time there to enjoy the back porch and backyard scenery. Great location to be close to the Fall Fest in Sister Bay.

We really enjoyed the location of this rental which was right down the street from downtown Sister Bay although I would advise against walking into town since the main road is pretty busy. The house had everything we needed including some great yard games and board games which our family enjoyed very much! There were also some toys and a Bumbo seat with table tray for our baby which was excellent! Checkout is at 10am so it was a mad scramble to leave in time. I wish the checkout were later so there was more time for breakfast and packing up. Overall, we had a good experience here and would consider returning.

This is the perfect location so close to Sister Bay and the beach. It felt very private. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The only thing I wish the house would have is central air. There is an air conditioning unit in the living room only. It was warm in all 3 bedrooms and made it difficult to sleep or be comfortable in the rooms at night. Otherwise we highly recommend this property!

The pictures don't do justice to this property. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and very comfortable. To start, the house has very nice finishes and is well furnished as though it was intended for the owners personal use only. Second, a special congrats to the cleaners as the place was immaculate. With 2 young kids we also really appreciated all the lawn games for outdoors and board games and puzzles indoors. The property was also very well located; close to Sisters Bay but just far enough to feel quite and private. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home!
