It's the second time we have stayed here in order to spend time with family who live in Brighton.
It's a nice, quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of Brighton itself (which we find a bit on the busy side!) but easily accessible for places like Hurstpierpoint, Saltdean and Seaford as we have a car. We walk to Hurstpierpoint which only takes us about 15 minutes or so.
The place has been spotless on arrival both times even though we have stayed in their dog friendly accommodation; last year with our 8 year old dog - who has sadly passed away since then - and this year with a well behaved (for his age!) 6 month old puppy.
The welcome food pack was extra useful this time as we didn't come directly from our home, and, had my sister-in-law with us,, so had less space in the car than usual.
There is nothing we don't like about the place.
My sister-in-law suggested the 2nd bedroom (single bed) might benefit from a bedside table, and a wall mirror - of which there are both in the main bedroom, but it isn't a big deal.
There are photos of a washing machine, but it isn't for individual use; from our previous visit my understanding is that the hosts may do a load for you if required, but you cannot use the equipment yourself as they are industrial machines.
I sort of miss having a dishwasher when I'm away and there isn't one!

Shaun the owner was very helpful and great knowledge of the area. Welcome pack of bread , milk etc and lodges were really high spec.

Great location, really peaceful, high quality accommodation, very welcoming and helpful owner, good facilities and a nice welcome pack. I would highly recommend staying here.

Very useful welcome package.
The cleanest self catering accommodation we have stayed at for some time; it was immaculate - just like new - and one of the few places I haven't felt I needed to clean a thing prior to using!
Nice shower too.
Nothing.

A hidden gem! Couldn’t recommend this more highly - beautiful lodge fitted out to a high standard. The owners couldn’t be more helpful. One of the lodges is pet friendly, one is fully accessible whatever your needs, two other. I’d highly recommend these lodges for anyone looking for a getaway to the South Downs, visiting family in the area or attending Hickstead or Goodwood.

Great stay for our staff... Shaun was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Our guys told us that they wish they could stay in more places like this!!

The lodge was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Lovely shower, great bed.
My personal preference would be to have a rug on the floor, but obviously this is not critical in any way. (Unless you want to do some yoga and have forgotten your mat!)

Wonderful location and the hosts were fabulous! Loved the attention to detail - arrival package with bread, milk, jam etc. Lovely, easy walk into the village (with a buggy!). Would highly recommend.
There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the property just thought the price for the washing machine/tumble dryer was a little pricey. Great to have on site though.

Extremely convenient with shops etc within walking distance; walk to Danny. Great advice about walking routes and they were surprised that we saw a seal in the river; it had just been rumour before!
Felt a bit exposed with screens rather than curtains or blinds in front windows
