The food was excellent, a good variety. The staff were helpful and polite. The view was spectacular. Such a unique experience.
The room service people didn't speak English very well and was difficult to order. One of the staff gave me his WeChat so he could help me to order.

Spectacular architecture
Customer service
Didn't get enough help
I was so disappointed that no one informed me about check-in information. I booked through Booking, and upon arrival, they told me that because I booked via the third party so I can not claim my club membership benefits.
I would have cancelled online and booked via the hotel as there was no room rate difference. But the receptionist seemed very busy and didn't want to give any help. All I received was the same answer.
I also have asked for an invoice, but I didn't get it.

the unique design of course
lack of staff. but I do understand it is what it is during this period of time in China

one of the most unique hotels in terms of architecture in the world! amazing integration inside the quarry, great unified quarry / mining theme throughout the entire hotel, great balconies for all rooms
the "bar" closes at 9pm which basically defeats its purpose, so not much to do after the 8pm water "show" (which is quite underwhelming); the restaurants are relatively expensive

We had a great holiday thanks to Bonnie (manager). She followed us during our stayed and took care about our requests . She was very friendly and professional

amazing building, attentive staff. great water and light shows
the TV was very slow to load and there were no films as the system was upgrading. breakfast very expensive

The unique setting is clearly the selling point of this location. And the drone / water light show a fun bonus. The room was a decent size and comfortable.
Beyond the unique setting as above, and a sad looking theme park next door, the hotel is the middle of nowhere. The service was patchy - some very helpful and attentive staff, others who didn’t understand basic English or understand foreigners’ attempt at Chinese, and overall it lacked the polish that you would expect of such a high end property outside London. The price for the one night we stayed was high on top of which there are pricy restaurants to eat at the hotel (there is no alternative) that all offer mediocre food. The gym is small and limited. There was a Chinese group having a loud argument by the entrance when we arrived. When I commented that it was very noisy to the check-in agent, she only factually confirmed that there was an argument going on, rather than doing anything about it.

This hotel is about the location (built into a breathtaking abandoned quarry) and little else. The view from the rooms is truly amazing.
No outdoor pool (while looking at a lake), only paddling pool indoor, tiny gym. A bit underwhelming food and practically nothing else to do.

Great place to visit. I paid a bit more for the room at the front desk when I was offered to get a better room by adding 400 RMB per night and become a member of some club, where they served extra food in the afternoon and evening which was just enough and didn't have to spend additional money for lunch or dinner. Also the view for this option was better and we faced the waterfall.
Even though the hotel is quite pricey, there were way too many people, especially the parking was problematic and took a while to get a parking lot.

Lovely friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
Pool, spa and sauna poor - small for size of the hotel and spa/sauna basic and not hot at all. Most windows need a good clean - looks a bit run down. Room service slow abs food very average for the price. Generally this place is really overpriced for what you get.

The hotel staff were ready to meet our needs as Western guests.
The food choice on the evening was lacking somewhat and came out cold. We searched for a hot tub but there wasn't one, as stated in the hotel description.

The staff was very attentive at check-in and at the buffet dinner, really exceptional service for our two little ones during dinner.
The property is really quite a “wonder” itself, of course :)
Everything was great.
