Good food, breakfast, location, views, bring some binoculars to enjoy the views fully
parking was tight, no obvious EV charging facility
4.3
Everything was clean, organised and well-thought. Toiletries and towels were included as well as the continental breakfast which were plenty.
We were also compensated well when we didn't get our original room due to redecoration.
Make sure to double check the check-in time as booking.com will say it's until 10pm but it's actually based on the pub's opening hours, as there's no staff in the premises overnight.
Very minor - the shower pressure was low but it is usable.
Location wise if you are staying to visit around Cotswolds it is up and about 35-40 min drive to touristy areas such as Bourton so definitely need a car to travel around.
Overall they are not deal breaker and the place is really fantastic!

Great relaxed atmosphere in a quiet rural setting. Rooms are solid stone, well appointed and spotlessly clean.
Staff are genuinely friendly, very helpful and attentive.
The accommodation is separate to the pub/restaurant so is calm and quiet. Whereas the pub has a vibrant friendly atmosphere.
Nothing. The Castle is a gem in a great location.

Lovely staff and accommodation, … staff was amazing though parking was easy and the food and the character of the place was amazing.
only negatives was the bed the mattress was uneasy where springs were worn and the shower only trickled out as well as a weak Wi-Fi signal

Staff very welcoming
No cooked breakfast until 10am

Quirky, extremely helpful staff
Very small bedroom so that double bed was against the wall, meaning one of us couldn’t get out
Very odd set up for breakfast. 9am start is much too late

Amazing welcome from the staff (Marcia in particular went out of her way), the rooms had everything we could wish for, cocktails went down well, dinner hit just the right the spot and the in-room breakfast of local produce was delicious. The view is incredible, and the location leaves you feeling you’ve witnessed a slice of history.
Would have to think long and hard whether there’s anything I didn’t like about this property.

Loved staying at a very unique location with lots of history. The rooms were very spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly. The view from the dining room was amazing. Every meal we ate there was incredibly delicious and well cooked.
As our room was above the downstairs bar and taproom so it was incredibly noisy until nearly midnight. The deliveries started quite early in the morning so it wasn’t a very restful stay for us.

The catsle has beautiful view, excellent location. We stayed in a triple room and it was huge, actually two rooms connected by a corridor and bathroom which is accessible from bedroom. Staff was very friendly. Everything was clean. The breakfast was pre-provided and was quite sufficent.
Personally I would excpect a hotel to serve dinner in the evening even on Sundays, but they close kitchen at 5 pm and there was nothing around in the village. Otherwise everything was great.

quirky and different in a good way
car parking a bit of an issue

The breakfast and the staff were friendly.
It was expensive and whilst the location and hotel was unique, the room could have been better. The shower wasn't great.

Lovely food in restaurant, lovely room, it had everything I needed. Plus a great continental breakfast, I liked the compote, cornflakes & juice.
I could have done with an additional blanket as it snowed in the night.

Building full of character and in a great location. Lovely restaurant with panoramic view over rolling, historic countryside. Excellent steak dinner. Staff friendly, appoachable and helpful.

We were looking for somewhere to stay for a night that wasn't too expensive and to be honest didn't really have any expectations. We were so happy with our choice, what a find! All the staff were so welcoming, the room exceeded our expectation for the amount we paid. Had a very enjoyable stay and have recommended to about 5 people for our wedding already!
I was over charge for a round of drinks at the bar - Was charged triple what my partner paid but only realised on the way home. Sadly my own fault for not noticing but slightly annoying!!

The Castle at Edgehill is an amazing historical building with a wonderful glass house & outside seating area with beautiful panoramic views.
The food is absolutely delicious & the staff are very engaging, helpful & good at their job.
The Cromwell suite was wonderful with a comfortable, spacious, warm & cosy separate lounge area & bedroom.
We throughly enjoyed our stay here & would definitely recommend a visit.
It took a bit of getting used to not having a frosted window or blind in the bathroom even though you couldn't possibly be overlooked.

the property itself was beautiful and the staff were lovely.
the room we had was situated in a very weird place right next to the entrance to the pub that did not make you feel very safe or secure with only a curtain to stop people looking in. the shower was awful, hardly any water coming out of the shower and was not very hot either. the bedding wasn’t clean and the bed was not comfortable, they said we had a “continental breakfast” in the room that consisted of a muffin and some orange juice. on top of that, their wasn’t anywhere to sit and eat your breakfast as there wasn’t a table or chairs in the room…. over all i feel for £85 a night its a complete rip off.

Just the most wonderful way to spend three days on the edge of the Cotswolds - stayed for a significant birthday and nothing was too much trouble for the staff at The Castle. The room was just fantastic and well worth what we paid, with a continental breakfast provided each day. Food in the restaurant was absolutely first class. We felt like part of the family by the time we left!!
Can't think of a thing that was lacking.
