About this house rental
The lakeside house is built on a 1.1 acre lot with view of Lake Garfield. It is only a few minutes walk to the town's beach with life guards on site. This one-level modern home has vaulted ceilings throughout. There are two master suites with king beds and two other bedrooms with queen beds. A walk out deck from one of the master bedrooms so you can enjoy morning coffee. Three common spaces include a loft for guests to chill out. A new washer and dryer is in one of the guest bathrooms. The kitchen with new stainless steel appliances is equipped with premium cooking tools and pots. Guests can hang out at the kitchen counter bar stools while someone is preparing meals. A gas grill is available on the front deck which can be accessed from the kitchen or the great room. There are two gas fireplaces to keep you cozy at night time.
In the summer, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Center and Tanglewood Music Center are about 25 to 30 minutes away. In the winter, Ski Butternut resort is about 10 minute drive. Monterey is a small secluded town with one general store, the Bidwell Museum and a few small farms where you can get fresh milk, eggs, pork, chicken, maple syrup, goat cheese, fruits and vegetables. It is only a 15 minute drive to Great Barrington where local gift shops, organic grocery stores and farm-to-table and gastronomic restaurants are located. If you like shopping, Lee Premium Outlets is 15 minutes away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home in the Berkshires. The house was lovely and nicely accommodated our family with adult children and grandchildren. The house was clean and very comfortable. And, being so close to a small beach for swimming and boating was terrific. We had easy access to much of what the Berkshires have to offer. We hope to return!

The property was wonderful! The exterior looked very well maintained but did prepare us for just how lovely the inside would be. Was extremely spacious and looked like a gigantic log cabin. Each room was spotless and very nicely decorated. The thing that my husband & I loved the most was that our master/king bedroom was located on the west side of house and all the others were on the east side. Since we tend to prefer a cooler home climate than the others do, we were able to control our own thermostat, especially at night for sleeping! The living and dining areas were very nice and cozy. Our only complaint was that the Living Room did not have a TV. But there was a TV in the loft area, which was beautiful! There was another tv in the other master bedroom. Being that we were there for a family reunion , to catch up with each other,the missing Tv wasn’t an issue. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. The view from front porch was very pretty! The was also a side porch. We all agreed that a fire pit there would have completed the magnificent home! Would definitely recommend!!

We had a wonderful long weekend. House was exceptionally clean and completely well stocked. Ample room for 6 adults. Beautiful souroundings outside perfect for walks. Decor was lovely and host made everything easy to find and mahage. Highly recommend.

Perfect long weekend stay for a group of 10 including kids. The house is huge with lots of great amenities. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Berkshires with a large group. Local beach was great also and everyone there super friendly.

Spacious, well equipped, lovely house and property. Very nice beach nearby. One minor inconvenience. Kayaks have to be brought back and forth to the beach daily. Not a long walk but it is a hill.

My siblings and I gathered with our significant others in this well equipped and comfortable house nested in the woods in the Berkshires. We enjoyed sharing memories in this quiet setting. The beds were so comfortable, we all slept well. We were sorry we couldn’t see the lake from the deck because of trees and foliage but we were able to walk to the beach. We didn’t use the kayaks as they were too heavy for the group (all over 75).
We enjoyed our trips to Jacobs Pillow and the Norman Rockwell museum. We spent our evenings gathered around the house’s large dining table eating our evening meal while laughing about our youth.

The house was great for our group of 4 couples, plus two of our young adult children for part of the time. Communication with Cindy was terrific! The house is lovely, spacious, bright, comfortorable, and well furnished. The kitchen is the best rental kitchen I've ever stayed in. It was great sitting in the living room and on the deck looking out on the lake, and it's a short walk to the beach. It's close to both Great Barrington and Lee. The only minor downside for us was that, although there was lots of space when we were in smaller subgroups, it was a bit crowded for all 10 of us to be together in the same space for meals or socializing. (for example: the patio table has 6 chairs, plus 3 adironack chairs that don't work well for sitting at the table. The livingroom sectional is comfortable but we needed to bring in some dining room chairs to all be in the livingroom at once). That being said, I'd still gladly stay at Cindy's house again.

Traveled from NC and Las Vegas for a family wedding. Lovely house, perfect for the seven of us. Had a swim in the lake and made some good memories. The house had everything we needed and then some! Very spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend the home. Cindy was great to work with.

We stayed for a week in this beautiful Berkshire home with our adult children, their spouses and our one grandchild. There is so much room in this place that we never felt crowded.
There are wonderful common areas inside and outside including two decks. The kitchen is well stocked. Appliances and decor are first class. The lake is a three minute walk.
Lee, Great Barrington, and Lenox are all easily accessible, as well as some great local hikes and gardens. Check out Bob’s Way and Ashintully Gardens.

We had a fabulous time.The house was very spacious allowing our big family to get together and celebrate our Son's high school graduation. We love that everything was labled and easy to find and Cindy was very helpful and accessible. Definitely looking forward to going back to enjoy the lake thats only a few steps away!

From booking our stay to the actual trip, everything was seamless. The host was quick to answer any questions we had prior to the trip, even letting us bring an extra car since it was during the spring/summer months.
The house was immaculate and fit 8 adult women perfectly. The beds were super comfortable and having so many bathrooms was a bonus. Cabinets were all labeled to know where to find everything and the local attraction binder was helpful as well. We did not use the BBQ since it rained most of the weekend but did enjoy cooking in the spacious kitchen well equipped with serving. Items.

Our Family had a wonderful vacation in this house. It was large enough to accommodate our family of 10 comfortably. I think the highlight was the lake the kids had a blast playing there.

Fantastic Vacation
We had a wonderful time staying at Cindy's beautiful home. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Cabinets were labeled so we had no trouble finding anything we needed. The location is great, a 5-minute walk to Lake Garfield and 15 minutes from Great Barrington and Lee. When we had a question, Cindy was very responsive. We hope to be back again soon!

This property was located in a beautiful area with trees and greenery everywhere. Our family had a wonderful BBQ on the deck looking over the trees and sliver of a lake view. Very comfortable home with great showers and beds. We will be back. Thank you Cindy

We enjoyed our stay! The location was terrific and the house had all the amenities we needed for the weekend. Plenty of room for adult couples to gather and also have privacy. The host was a wonderful communicator and was very explicit with directions and recommendations which made our stay easy.

Wonderful Escape
We rented this lovely pristine home for a family wedding weekend. It is clean, spacious and well equipped. The owner was very communicative. The short walk to the beach is very convenient and we brought a picnic lunch and entertained our grandchildren on the beach. We hated to leave and hope to return.

We had an awesome time with extended family at the house and the lake. The house is even better than it looks in the photos. We were fortunate to have perfect weather for spending lots of time on the deck, grilling, and using the kayaks and paddle boards. We liked having lots of bathrooms for our multigenerational group of nine. We appreciated the well labelled cabinets- made it easy to find everything we needed in the kitchen. A very comfortable house, hope to visit again!

We had a very nice time. House was well equipped and very spacious, and all communications with the owner were easy.
Only complaint is that the description of the house was “lakeside” and it was across the street from the lake. Not a problem in the winter, but if it had been summertime, we would have been annoyed.

The house was perfect for our family of 8 and 1 baby. The house was as advertised and lovely. It had everything that we needed. The location was very good for visiting all other areas of the Berkshires. Did not use the grill or kayaks but I’m sure they would have been perfect as well. The lake view was beautiful and serene. Totally enjoyed the 4 days sent here and would stay again

This was one of our favorite rentals to date! Here are some things that made it particularly excellent - 1. Cleanliness of house - superb! 2. Availability of several kayaks - super fun for our group3. Availability of all necessary kitchen/cooking tools - we never needed to leave the house for cooking tools/ supplies (including cooking oils, BBQ tools, etc) 4. Easy access to a beach - very short walk down a hill5. Great outdoor spaces - patios were beautiful!6. Great wifi - easy for those few work calls we had to take 7. Availability of beach chairs for use at the lake8. Beautiful views of the trees - would be great in fall foliage 9. Comfy beds and blackout curtains - we all slept great10. Quiet, beautiful neighborhoodWe would stay again!
