Lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Very pet friendly with a large field to walk the dog every day which is a big plus for exercising your dog in a safe place. The owners are very nice people, friendly and on hand if you need anything. Loved the shortbread on arrival, thank you.

This cottage is cosy, so well thought out in terms of functionality, and has everything anyone can possibly need. It's location is stunning, and access to walking trails and interesting places to visit close by. The owners are delightful and helpful, very unobtrusive but available should one need anything. In 25 years of ECC bookings, this is the only place I have stayed where the kitchen knives have been sharpened!!! Fantastic!

One of the most generously equipped cottages in which we’ve stayed. None of this “one low quality loo roll for the week” nonsense. Plenty of exactly what you don’t want to be buying yourself upon arrival – washing up liquid, scourer, bubble bath etc.
Great location on the edge of the National Park, with an astounding view. Excellent hosts, and very cosy and homely.

We're a family of 4 with two young boys (7 and 4) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at The Old Byre in August. We fount the cottage to be well equipped and spotlessly clean which was a welcome touch in these pandemic times. The owners were very kind and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the start. The cottage is at the top of a hill with very nice views and perfectly positioned to enjoy the sunset.
Great place to stay and definitely recommended!

Lovely cottage, very thoughtfully laid out, with comfortable beds and furniture, a well appointed kitchen and bathroom, and a sheltered outside seating area with fabulous views over the valley. The owners live in the nearby farmhouse, are very friendly and willing to chat, but always left us to ourselves unless we approached them. We will definitely be back.

Cosy and convenient
We stayed here for a week during May. 2 adults and 2 children with a dog. The cottage was clean and welcoming on our arrival, complete with a plate of shortbread! Just the right size for us and convenient for all the sights of the Peak District. Everything we needed was available and our hosts were lovely. Thank you!
