We like the family friendly property
Food options were limited .

The decor has been very tastefully done. The breakfast was average, but the coffee was good. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The library overlooking Mt Myoko was a great place to meet up with friends for a drink.
The onsen was dirty. The floors were black in parts. The tubs need external decalcification. There are rust lines running down from the painted ceiling. The bottles of ammenities looked old and scratched up.
It's also not possible to adjust the air conditioning temperature in the rooms.

Didn’t like wearing a mask. COVID is a fraud.

front desk service in the morning was unwelcoming. Was asking for a bottle of water to drink and he said we don’t provide

The library lounge and the hot spring were exceptional. The restaurant menu had lots of local produce and dishes from the area. Very welcoming, friendly and accommodating staff. We asked for softer pillows and they were delivered shortly to our room. Great view from the room. Available different dinner options for 2 days of our stay. Amazing coffee cafe and light snacks on the 1st floor. Discounted tickets for a 30 min stretching session. Complimentary drinks for those who do not request room cleaning. A great place to stay for those who drive.
The bed mats and pillows were way too hard to my taste. Only shared shower in the hallway was a bit disappointing for the price we paid. The hotel had a lovely hot spring but it would be nice to have a shower option as well. If you have back problems or are not used to sitting on the floor, the low table and chairs might be challenging. The wifi was patchy and unstable. We arrived on Friday and needed to work from the hotel a bit after arrival but could not perform some tasks because of the slow Internet. Breakfast could have more bread options and some yogurt.
The location of the hotel is a bit away from everything and although the hotel offers a shuttle to the lifts it might be tricky to navigate the area without a car for those who want to actively explore the area in the winter.

The facility, which must be a domestic tour hotel from the 70's has been very nicely modernized and turned into a cool and very spacious hotel. The service was outstanding and the staff very motivated. Rooms large and very comfortable. Big, clean public bath and a common dining and lounge area. The offer to use the bath after skiing on check out day was a nice touch. Great location, minutes from the highway exit and all the Myoko ski fields within minutes from the hotel.
Dinner was OK but with the hefty price tag for the half board package, I expected a finer experience than the set 3-course meal. Breakfast was good too, but I would have preferred an a la carte type service instead of the "fixed" tray with Japanese breakfast items. Bread was offered as an option to rice and soup but came with butter only. No cheese, ham or jams. Plain coffee of tea, no option of cappuccino or caffe latte.
